So the day has come to finally start the engine.
After sorting out a few problems including more parts from the scrapyard the time has finally arrived to fire this zetec engine up..

Yeah it certainly was.
It took a while to work out what was wrong 🤔. Brakes now and hopefully a drive shortly 😊

that’s the top end tapping away- Zetecs are very noisy if it hasn’t been ran in a while or have had the cams out/messed. with. The hydraulic tappets take a good 20 minutes+ of idling to properly pump up and stop rattling, until then they’ll knock like crazy, and. eventually it’ll suddenly shut up and run silent.
They also sound a bit noisy, very much like a diesel when cold until they’ve warmed up.

It is a black top zetec so it dosent have hydraulic tappets.

Top vid as always. that pipe was a right bar stool!!
Shouldn't leak oil out the exhaust gasket, should only leak hot 🔥 gasses,
Is it maybe the rocker cover gasket leaking down on to it?

Yeah that pipe threw me a curve ball all right.
I think I've stopped it from leaking, looks like I needed to connect the pcv valve upp and get the engine warm. Thanks for watching 😊
