- Today I'm painting a crankbait pattern that you won't find in stores. I recently received a request to paint a pink, purple, and black crankbait. These are not the normal colors you think about in bass fishing. However, I really liked the way this pattern came out! Let me know what you think! Thanks for watching!

The finished bluegill at the end looked awesome! You still need a signature design/logo/signature somewhere on your lure! You should come up with a few and put it up for a vote.
I did that gill and don't remember the exact color/layers 🤦♂️ I was using a simple "DEBO" on the bottom. I need to be more creative 😂
Pro tip: watch series on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies these days.

Feathers float, better on a top water. On a drive, bucktail works best and acts like a fish tail.

That was funky. A great effect that can be used on lots of projects. The bluegill looks incredible. Would like to see you do that one. Maybe when you get the finish station tweaked you can do one for us.

Looks like there is not going to be many store bought crankbaits you will be buying in the future. The one you made on this video is certainly an eye catcher. You might want to check out some fabric stores for a supply of lace and other materials for adding custom patterns to your lures.

How about a crazy color combo. Like opalescent blue super bright orange and pearl purple in an unusual pattern like a lightning pattern with white accents

I actually had a guitar in the early 90's with that kinda scheme only it was black red and orange. I wish I still had that charvel because now that scheme came back and everyone wants the originals. You're getting crazy talented btw man. Your bluegill patterns look realistic. I'd be willing to buy some debo cranks straight up

Careful now Debo. Pink eye is highly contagious!!! Even more so than that new Kung Flu! I’d like to see something for crappie. Pink orange and yellow. Or a Rick Clunn (RC2) sexy shad. Just a couple ideas.
I believe the correct color is called tasty shad and it would be in the series 1 or 2 size. We killed the white bass and large mouth on these when we could find them in the stores.

Those lures look awesome! Custom lure painting and pouring soft plastics are things that intrigue me, but I don’t think my wife would be keen on a new hobby - I have, no joke, probably near $10,000 worth of fly tying materials I’ve bought over the last three decades not to mention thousands in fly, spinning, and casting rods and reels, hard baits and soft plastics, storage boxes and tackle boxes (I even have an old Wheatley fly box that retails for more than $100 - fly fishing can be expensive), waders. If I start getting blanks, an air gun, paints, and a compressor, she might hurt me. Lol.
Do you do any kind of clear coat at the end to keep the colors sealed? I’m wondering if you did a coating if you could add some super fine flake/sparkle like the Ike colors in the Rapala DT series.
Hahah yes; it is very addictive. I've seen some super cool fly tying stuff. I couldn't work with that tiny stuff. I do seal them. I've tried the epoxy and just did my first run of KBS tonight...fingers crossed it turns out ok!

Yo debo nice job man here's a tip to try to solve your paint coming off , paint your bait like normal when you get to the point you're gonna put your mesh on stop painting there either give a good heat set or let it cure overnight do a nice thin layer of clearcoat cure your clearcoat then continue on with your pattern problem solved
I need to get some sort of clear coat to try that! What do you use? Something that you spray out of your airbrush?
@@DEBOSFishing I use min wax polycrylic for that step I just dip the lure slow in slow out I got this idea from engineered angler great channel he dilutes it and spray from airbrush he has many airbrushes I have 1 so I'm a little nervous about spraying it
The blue gill one although looks more Baby Bass to me would crush in my Practice Fishery
You should call the black and purple one Electric Disco Shad. The white one should be Edgar Winter.

look like the paint might need a tiny bit of thinning.
lot of speckle, however even with thinner some paint keep making spot, it's actually one of the reason i never use white primer with my airbrush anymore.

another tip, ive had better result with acrylic by letting the things i spray sit for couple hours to 24 hours, however i didnt start doing bait yet
hopefully not too late but do the same idea as the pink/purple vein art but with blue and green veins and white body with sparkles of course!
