Introducing the Debo Gill. New on Tackle Warehouse!!! Those look cool. I definitely don’t have the time/patience to do it, but it looks like fun. Snow on the ground, and wind chills around 20 today. Looked at my rods on the way out to walk the dogs, and longed for warmer days. Thanks Debo!!
DUDE!!!! This is so cool. I've been wanting to try making my own baits. Watched a bunch of videos and they all make it look like you gotta be a pro. I love that you are a rookie and have s l o w e d this down for us so that we can get step by step instructions on the painting. Looking forward to more. They look awesome by the way I'd totally use one.
I can't believe how good these bluegill patterns turned out. Especially since your new to airbrushing. Your last video inspired me to give this a try, I've ordered everything I need just waiting for it to be delivered. Thanks for the inspiration!! Keep up the good content. Very much enjoy watching.
Well now, you have done it this time. Once you start catching fish on lures you made yourself your fishing will never be the same. Your lures look pretty darn nice Mr. Debo Arbogast. One important trait you must add is a signature mark of some sort. If anyone picks up any of your painted lures, they know instantly who painted it. Don’t think this isn’t important for a second. Who wouldn’t want a Debo Diving Dink killer in their collection.
@@DEBOSFishing When I tie fly patterns or lures, I design I make three, one for a pattern and two to fish. You should keep one for reference. I promise you will be glad you did. It is great fun studying them and seeing how you progress as you make others.
I so enjoyed this video. I like the one you made live, turned out awesome, I'd use one of those in a heartbeat. Now you've gone and done, now I looking for places I can paint lures in my house!! Oh God wait till the wife finds out.
Also from the start. I would prep the clear bait. Lay the white. Prep it again with a finer sandpaper. They make scuff pads 800-1000 grit. and put another coat of white on it. I haven’t finished the video yet. But a semi gloss or gloss finish will protect the bait when your all done! Depending how shiny you want it
Outstanding. Would absolutely fish any of them in the waters I fish in the northeast. As you pointed out, the various paint schemes is what makes them unique, just as in nature. Keep up the good work.
For netting mesh I got some embroidery hoops and put the net in it and put the lure in the middle of two hoops, put magnets around the bait to hold the net tight. Works great and don't skin paint
Also for the clips you can put heat shrink on the jaws to avoid scratching the paint. It worked for me when I had to solder a few circuit boards back in the day and you really didn't want to scratch those.
Looks great!! One tip.. Detail sepia should be the last thing you apply.. It's not really a paint... But a paint enhancer.. Makes colors and details pop!
Brooooo those look soooo good. I gotta hand it to you.... You've helped me become a better angler and I'm definitely inspired to paint my own baits now lol
Wow..Amazing Job....I would definitely buy and use that! Been watching you for a while now... Love the content...always so informative... Have learned alot watching you and the tips you have given....Keep up the good work!
All those ‘gills were good looking baits.! Did like the one you painted for the video best. Maybe ‘cause it looked most like the ‘gills around these parts. Thanx for another fun vid👍👍
Great stuff as per Debo. Already have the airbrush setup for work but never thought of painting my own lures. One more rabbit hole to fall down I guess lol. Oh well, it’s a long winter so may as well have some fun! Thanks man
I see other people dip them in a gloss or something like that. Makes it shine and I think protects the color from scratching off easily. Maybe you do eventually off camera. Great looking lures, good job!
That looks awesome ill take 3 try using those little wooden clothes pins you can get them at Walmart in the craft section they come in a pack that might help with the paint scratches
Debo Great job on the painting! And he’ll ya I would throw one of those crank baits!! Like that purple on tail , some thing for the bass to zone in on.
Hey brother ...I use hair nets ...like someone would use in a kitchen environment...there cheap and there soft ....cuts down on the scratches...but after a few uses they will scratch more ... Fyi they do like to soak up some of the paint so lite coats...and they can leave some what of a scale texture too...great vids...I was looking up kind of a new look to bluegill and your vid came up first ...great shout out to Jen at Jeckel baits...keep up the great work bro Sgt Rob
I dip the tips of my clips in 2 coats of plasti dip (performix) on Amazon, try to leave the clips open before you dip them , definitely helps prevent any scratches an scuffs, but the lures look awesome
I have noticed through the years that whenever I have a crankbait that catches lots of fish, it gets beat up, and distressed, and that’s like bait fish sometimes get slapped or chased through some rough bottom to escape, so it’s only natural that bass like a scuffed up crankbait because it matches, in your case bluegill. I have seen bluegill and shad that look like they’re missing part of a fin or tail or a few scales. My point being a blemish could be a good thing as opposed to an over laminated shiny new lure that doesn’t look so real to a bass. Mistakes and all you’ve done a great job of custom painting your own lures, and when you catch a 3-5 pound bass you’ll be thrilled, and so will we when you post that video.💪🎣🍀🎣👏👏👏🎯
Hey try a sealer white from wicked paints for your base coat. Also put tape on the tip of your clips to avoid metal rubbing the paint to avoid scratching it up. As far as the mesh netting try soaking it in water before you use it then dry it with the heat gun to make it softer if it’s fabric
DeBo once again You've out done Yourself I'd buy anyone of those Blue Gill baits, they'ed be money on the ponds I fish.. Keep it up you have found a second calling me thinks..
Went fishing yesterday with my fishing buddy. We tried all kinds of bass lures. It's now 4/3/2020. Cloudy and in the middle 50's. The only lure that worked was a Strike King Bluegill colored squarebill crank bait. Hillers caught one on with a small crappie in its mouth. The week before. The same pond. I caught 5 bass on a White and silver spinnerbait and a chrome redeye chrome shad lipless bait. Both baits represented the food that bass eat! Shad and Bluegills. Are the bass moving onto the beds Could they be eating after winter. Then getting ready to spawn soon? Debo's, I need your opinion on this! SHAWN

Hahah that would be some crazy stuff to see my work on tackle Warehouse 🤣 Yeah, I'm missing that warm weather too!
Deebz, you nailed the back color scheme, looks super realistic!
Thank you man! I've tried a few different versions. This one looked good!
That bluegill came out really nice! Looks like you found your winter hobby!
Thanks man! Definitely has helped to keep me sane this winter!
I like all the different colors you used in your painting today 😊.
Man you can really tell you've been practicing! That looks so GOOD!
I was thinking the same thing man
Appreciate that a ton man! It has been a fun challenge!
I know I'm kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to stream newly released movies online ?
@Luciano Harold Meh lately I have been using flixportal. you can find it on google :) -ibrahim
@Ibrahim Blake Thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :) I really appreciate it !!

Seriously Debo! That is super cool! I'm loving the painting stuff!!!!!
Thanks man! Let me know what you want. I'll paint you some so you can throw crankbaits! 🤣👊
Thanks, will do!

Very good point! I signed Debo on the bottom of some. I need to think on that!

Hi.you're more talented than you realise DEBO.The bluegill looks awesome man. You know what they say.Practice makes perfect.

Bahahahahah don't mention my name in the conversation when she asks, "Where did you get this crazy idea from...?" 🤣🤣🤣
Definitely prepping it or scuffing it will help the paint stick on better. Along with anything with paint. A good prep job makes a good paint job 👍🏼
Depending how shiny you want it
I got some 1000 to scuff it up with to see how that goes!
DEBO'S Fishing that should be perfect. Love these videos. Love to get into this. You the man Debo 👊🏼🎣
Outstanding.
Would absolutely fish any of them in the waters I fish in the northeast.
As you pointed out, the various paint schemes is what makes them unique, just as in nature.
Keep up the good work.
Yeah, it's crazy the number of different patterns you see in one species of fish!
For netting mesh I got some embroidery hoops and put the net in it and put the lure in the middle of two hoops, put magnets around the bait to hold the net tight. Works great and don't skin paint
I actually liked the missing spots from the paint. Makes it look like that little bluegill survived an attack.
That was my same thought like it was a little savage gill surviving attacks like a boss lol
Y'all may be on to something here...🤔
Awesome video! Always love seeing the process.
Thanks man! It really makes you appreciate what goes in to painting one!
Also for the clips you can put heat shrink on the jaws to avoid scratching the paint. It worked for me when I had to solder a few circuit boards back in the day and you really didn't want to scratch those.
Lots of progress already! Good job bud! That bait looks just like upper mid west blue gills!
WOW DEEB!!! that looks great man! I would for sure throw that around!
Thanks man! I'm definitely having fun painting them 👊👊👊
Looks great!! One tip.. Detail sepia should be the last thing you apply.. It's not really a paint... But a paint enhancer.. Makes colors and details pop!
outstanding videbo! gives a real appreciation seeing the time, talent put into doing those.
Thank you, Greg! I definitely have a lot more respect for folks who do this!
Brooooo those look soooo good. I gotta hand it to you.... You've helped me become a better angler and I'm definitely inspired to paint my own baits now lol
Thanks man! THAT'S what it's about! Each time you go out try to work on one small thing and improve. The pyramids weren't built in a day!👊👊👊
Wow..Amazing Job....I would definitely buy and use that! Been watching you for a while now... Love the content...always so informative... Have learned alot watching you and the tips you have given....Keep up the good work!
And i liked both i really liked how that scale pattern is really noticeable on the one
Yeah, I like the larger scale stuff too. Good to have options!
Wow! Another great looking bait!!! I really like the one you did for this video. Practice makes perfect. Keep up the good work!!!
Yep, practice practice practice! I'm slowly getting better! Thanks for watching 👊👊👊
If that was the only fishing lure I had in my box, I'd throw it all day every day even if I got skunked! Looks awesome man!! Keep up the good work!!!
Hahah thanks man! Didn't turn out too shabby for some noob painter in Iowa 🤣👊
Debo..my dude. The scaled one is so dope. Nice work!
Thanks man!👊
BTW I paint and finish cabinets for a living and you're right hit it with some super fine sand paper for the paint to adhere better!
Awesome! I hope that fixes it up! Thanks for watching man 👊
Awesome video. Looks like a lot of fun. May have to try this.
It's a blast! Also very addictive too!
Looking good cant wait for that list
Thanks my man!👊👊👊
baits look amazing man! nice work
Thanks man, appreciate that a lot!
All three look professional. I love that subtle fin on them. I use the berkley squarebull in bluegill color and these look as good if not better!
Thanks man! Yeah, turned out ok for a dummy in his basement painting them 🤣
Not that your last paint job was bad, but this one is a huge improvement imo. So many bluegill in my lakes I bet I could kill with that thing.
Thanks man! I'm just working to get better with each one!
All those ‘gills were good looking baits.! Did like the one you painted for the video best. Maybe ‘cause it looked most like the ‘gills around these parts. Thanx for another fun vid👍👍
Yeah, you find all different kinds out there! Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words!
They are all great! I would love to use a Debo crankbait. They would work in Florida for sure! Thanks Debo
Thank you, Jerry! If I keep getting better at these I may sell some!👊
Thats crazy good for a beginner! Keep it up debo im still learning myself
Thanks man! Yeah, just takes a lot of practice!
Looks awesome! Can't wait for a viDEBO where you catch some lunkers with it.
Thanks man! I can't wait to get them into action!
Awesome job, and I would definitely throw those baits. They would work perfect in the ponds around Des Moines.
I would totally use that. Great piece DEBO

Thank you man! I may sell them someday. Gotta keep practicing with them!
Getting good man. Looks great dude.

Great stuff as per Debo. Already have the airbrush setup for work but never thought of painting my own lures. One more rabbit hole to fall down I guess lol. Oh well, it’s a long winter so may as well have some fun!

Hahaha I know, I've got enough goin on. Oh well, fun to do in the winter since we can't be out froggin!
I paint the tips of my clamps and clips with plastic coat. I also prefer to use small binder clips to hold the netting. You are doing well!
I've had a number of people suggest that! I may try that out!
DUDE those are looking awesome. Great job. Wish I had the time to make my own, maybe when the little one gets older and then she can help.
Thanks man! Yeah, time is the hard part. I have to practice when everyone else is asleep ☹
That is awesome need to start selling them. They look better them some of them that’s on the shelf in a store. Keep it up Debo. Tight lines.
Thanks man! If I keep improving I may sell some soon!👊
Nice job free handing those black line
That's awesome! Looks great!😊👍👍

Would love to see you do a video on how you clear coat your baits. I have had so many issues clear coating and need some tips!
Try checking out Marling Baits.
I got some KBS to try out. I haven't got my clear coat station set up yet. Yes, marling baits or Jekyll productions both do vids on this!
Can't wait too see you fish them.
Thanks! I'm excited to put them to use as well!
Great video 👍💯 would like to try this myself 💯👍 Thanks for sharing great info

They looks great man. I’d buy those gill baits for sure
Thanks brother, maybe get some for sale sometime soon!
They all look good Debo! I don't have the talent or patience for painting lures but enjoyed the video anyway.
I have zero artistic talent. It has taken a lot of practice but it sure is fun!
Good vid Debo, very interesting... I may have to invest in an air brush gun and some crank bait blanks.
It had been a fun way to get over the winter blues!
Sometimes I use some spray clear acrylic on my lures between layers of paint .helps to keep from scratching from stencils .your work looks good
you really did a good job on those debo i am trying to start also so great vid
Thanks man! Good luck! It's addictive and a lot of fun 👊
That is an awesome bait man. Love the colors. Keep em coming.
Thanks man! I'll definitely do some more painting this winter!
