YES!! Thats what we have being using around here...finesse and BFS materials for Bass fishing in south of Brazil! Ryugi and Decoy are easy to find here on local shops. As mentioned on our live, the Japanese stuff gets here with ease. All the best brother!
Long time ultra light fisherman, total newbie with casting on BFS gear. Have had tons of fun over the years using tiny top water lures, tiny crankbaits, under sized spinnerbaits and inline spinners. Still love my ultralight spinning gear but giving BFS a try. My brother has been catching some big bass in the Southern California reservoirs with tiny cranks.
No hate bro. Never. You do you, and we will be good with whatever it is you do. I don't do the kayak thing, or BFS, but i will continue to watch, like, and support you and your channel. ✌️😎🎣
The Megabass Xshader’s and Karashi’s have been some of my favorites. I too was BFS skeptical until I realized I actually grew up fishing this way in the Midwest we just didn’t have a fancy term for it. 1/16 ounce jigheads and bass assassin 2” grubs were responsible for a great deal of my fish as a kid.
You better be measuring these baits in "Debo Fingers". Really appreciate you pronouncing the Zman names correctly! 😂 you can try wrapping some flavorless dental floss and glue on the shank of the mini chatterbaits to help hold them on.
I agree with you on BFS vs Micro. I think Micro for trout/panfish (vs fly rod) for those super small UltraLight vs BFS for smaller finesse bass presentations (vs spinning reel). 1.5-2 grams+ with the right hook for me 4 bass. Those trout magnets weights and hooks don’t cut it for me with bass.
I absolutely love the little flashback minis and what I did to solve the keeper issue was take a bobber stop run it on the hook shank and then put a drop of superglue on it and now you have a plastic keeper. It’s not perfect but it helps a lot
Thanks Debo! I am liking the BFS thing, but it doesn't replace a spinning rod for some things. That said one BFS setup doesn't cover everything either. I still am thinking about getting an ultralight maybe a 2000 Exist, or another BFS. I have a Shimano Calcutta Conquest BFS xg on a Dobyns Sierra 701c. It's Dope, but might get a Cormorant and a lighter rod too. I really like fishing the light gear. I live in Florida so it can be a challenge but it's so much fun! I fought a 7lb channel cat on a Yum hellgrammite, 1/16 oz worm weight, #1 Gamakatsu EWG hook,(5lb mono). It took like 20 minutes to land it. It was spawning so it was almost black with white spots. When they are not spawning they are usually silver with black spots. It took some research to figure out what kind of Catfish it was.....FishOn...jimi
I fish BFS 98% of the time and have a blast. It works for my waters. Since I was a kid I have always hated the feel of line popping off of my finger with spinning reels so BFS is a natural fit for me. Fishing is about disappearing from the world for a bit (for me). Whatever tool adds to that enjoyment. Saying that, I'm also looking at my 4oz Megadog thinking that I should go toss that around for a bit. Its fishing, have fun. Humans get so crazy about the oddest of things. Love You Debo....
I hope you enjoy the micro bait fishing. Watching you, Ethan, Jeff and Paul was fun and informative. It may be about size, but it is also about the quantity of fish you can catch on a slow day. Go Hawkeyes!
Strike King Micro Jerkbait Whats special about them is the fact that they sink. Most micro jerkbaits are so light that they fly out of the water if you jerk them too much. These not only stay in the water, you can fish them as deep as you want to fish them.
I really like the Ark gravity bfs reel a lot . My casting thumb bar broke off on a cast which is kind of sad. Where the hooks screw in is made of plastic and they cracked. It was not abused in any way. I hope I can get another casting button to replace it
I definitely slept on the mule minnow, but tossing it this spring in the white color got me a good sized walleye. Also, that burro bug straight up crushes just about everything
I’ve been ultralight fishing for a long time now. I have caught a lot of MASSIVE bluegills over the years. If bluegills grew to be 5 lbs, I’d never fish for bass!
Oh man! We're winning you over to the lite tackle side. Fun times.. really! Still won't go BFS but I love my ultra lites! So much fun. Especially when the big guys aren't bitting. Those Ryugi micro hooks are awesome! Weightless or Texas rigged. Can't go wrong with ZMan! Like the Shad Fry Z's, but my favorite is the LarvaZ! Caught a 2lb. 15 oz. Largemouth on that and an i_fish 1g BG-1 jig head on 6 lb. braid with a 4 lb. mono leader. Mule Fishing products are also in my bag. That Jack Worm is awesome!!! Burro Bugs and Horse Flys have also worked well for me, and Donkey Tail Jr.s need NO comment! Hope to see you using more of this stuff in future videos. Blessings!
Micro lures work good in the lake I fish, when other lures don't! Yesterday, I had a 3 inch dinger on a size 2 ewg! Usually catches dinks but that's fine with me!
Hey Debo, I’m surprised no one ever talks about Johnson beetle spins. Super finesse & easy as heck to change out the plastics on those with just about any crappie/minnow plastics you want. Heck, you can even change out the blade easily. Fish catcher for around a coupla bucks? I’m in!!!!
I'm with you on casting 1/80th on BFS. Why??? LoL I just got a couple of BFS combos! I really do like them they do have there place! My favorite thing to throw on my BFS is 1/8th 3" swimbait! It's a blast to use and I can throw it a mile! Already slayed the dinks on it too... It's a great finesse presentation.
Nice selection of BFS glad to see you’re actually leaning into it it can be fun when things get difficult in a different way than just throwing a spinning rod. Those crank baits you have there are proven getters. In fact that diver I caught two bass tonight on one the same color as you’re showing right there. they have a weight transfer system so you could just really huck them a mile. if you’re fishing on rock, they really are good for grinding in the bottom and they do get hooked up. As For those hobbit hooks, I have been amazed that they’re functional at that size. you’re gonna have some fun. Keep doing what you’re doing thanks
Wow. Micro is a big difference. I thought how much different could it be from a NED TRD. Actually is a noticeable size difference. … I love z-man products. Meat dog and purple death are my two favorite colors. And with the elastic plastic I don’t think you need bait keepers. Any jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits that I’m gonna use with zman products I cut the bait keepers off.
Those ZMan micro chatterbaits are cool but they absolutely need a keeper on them. The hook wire is so thin that even just a few casts and the bait is slipping down the shank. Got to put a dab of superglue on the bait each time you use them!
Been thinking about getting into bfs. But I already have a bunch of ultralight spinning combos. I think the spinning set ups lend themselves better to finesse/ultralight lures! Didn’t know zman made ultralight lures definitely gonna have to pick some of that stuff up. Thanks for the video!
The donkey tail changed my life. The 3/32oz with a black full size donkey tail is such an elite combo. I’ve actually crushed smallies on the 1/32oz jig and chartreuse donkey tail jr.
love me some BFS. i recently have been killing em with a Zappu Bredy Weedless underspin. they come in different hook sizes and weights ! also a 1/8 or 1/16 oz coolbaits underspin works aswell if you are fishing more open water with less grasss
Question for ya. In your lure tray, towards the end of this video, middle row, far right, what is that lure? My gf was going BSC over it & wants to know what it is. Lol
Even if you are a bass fisherman how could you resist catching some sunfish crappie etc. in the summer month’s. I’ve been unsung a micro set up real rod & smaller baits & catching some nice bluegills & also by suprise caught a carp wasn’t a very big one but on a light set up definitely has some fight in them.
Hey Debo I too catch dinks more often than not so that’s one of the main reasons I love using ultralight gear , plus I got my first bfs combo on the way . Awesome video as always man tight lines 🎣
Like all those but throw them on spinning outfits. Free rig weights🔥especially with Nikko’s small hellgrammite! Sorry about your reel perhaps you can replace the side place don’t think they’re expensive at all! Debo that’s a left handed SLX BFS?!
Just because it's BFS doesn't mean you have to use those micro lures. Those plastics 2" or less are too small for my liking. The crappies and giant bluegills will strike those. Also try braid to leader, take out the line stretch because the BFS rod is already slow.
Hey Debo. Long time bro. I'm happy to say that my health scare is done and over with. Back to work for a month now so you'll be seeing me on Saturday nights again. Reason for me commenting is that I've been seeing advertisements for Obalus Baitcasting Reels lately. My buddy has a heck of a time with his BCs bird nesting so I'm thinking this would help him. What, if any opinions do you have for these?
Love the zman stuff-There’s a new saltwater bait they’re coming out with that has that razor shad profile with a ball tail that look like it would be a killer Chatterbait trailer🤙🏻
I was wondering why you don’t put the z man stuff with other plastic lures because I’ve had some things melt and get ruined and I didn’t even know that you weren’t supposed to do that. Why does it do that?
i make tons of mini chatter baits in 1 gram and 2 grams with just a M countbass chatter blade with a little bit of soldering to attach them together .....like $.20 to make 1 instead of buying the zman flashback mini
My Sons are off doing there Military thing so watching Grandkids and no fishing. I know Crappie Jigs and Tiny Jigs have been around for 100 years but I like the Z Man tiny stuff.
@@castandchill any small worm too anything in the 4 inch range. No more than 10lb floro or 12-15lb braid though. I actually use dove sun hooks from temu cause they’re the same as a trokar 1/0 flipping hook for 1/3 the price. I think it’s 25 for $8-10.

Awesome video, I’m excited for some of this BFS stuff. It seems like it’s reignited something new and fun for you 😊
I absolutely love the burro bug. It catches everything. I also have had amazing luck on the bps triple tail grub.
I love throwing mini Texas rig 1/16 ounce tungsten weight with the zman craw. Caught a 4.5 on lake fork this April! Motor oil color.
I’ve caught a few 5-7 pounder on bfs in Texas on the little trick worm weightless

I have also been bit by the micro bug. These look cool! I can't wait to see what rod and reel combo you will be using.
I've been loving BFS it's now my go too over breaking out the wacky rig when things get tough

Those ZMan micro chatterbaits are cool but they absolutely need a keeper on them. The hook wire is so thin that even just a few casts and the bait is slipping down the shank. Got to put a dab of superglue on the bait each time you use them!

You CAN have an ultralight spinning setup AND a bfs setup!!!(and enjoy both)Much love from California!!!!!
❤ DO they float a hook❤
I also learned to Walk using a Zara puppy. They get bit.
Man, I've been slinging absolutely everything I can on a 1/64th oz free rig since spring. Just destroying them. So much fun dude.
Enjoyed the vid Debo. I’m glad you like the Gamakatsu box, they are a fav of mine.
That decoy t-rig looks awesome 😆 I thought my 3" pit boss with a 1/0 was small
I do well with the 2 in gulp minnows, in the smelt color.
Those things kill it everywhere but the price sucks and the its almost a one fish bait. Killer in the saltwater.
@@otroflores91 Are you rigging it like a fluke? That has been my way of saving bait.
@@mattkies524 yup . Also on small jig heads like 1/8 or a drop shot. Saltwater fish tear them up.

Debo - Nathan is too pure a spirit to threaten you with violence. Glass i could see - kind of a Dahmer vibe there.
The stuff I'd be most interested in would be the mule fishing stuff and the z-man
I feel like where i live in OH is moving in this direction Out of necessity. The fish here are so pressured.
Love the zman stuff-There’s a new saltwater bait they’re coming out with that has that razor shad profile with a ball tail that look like it would be a killer Chatterbait trailer🤙🏻
I would like to try some of those for trout fishing
Try out the mini rooster tails with single hooks everything bits them as well
The smaller money badgers are the reason i want to get into BFS
I like watching you fishing videos on UA-cam
I've been using that micro stuff from zman and I gotta say its pretty dang sweet!
I was wondering why you don’t put the z man stuff with other plastic lures because I’ve had some things melt and get ruined and I didn’t even know that you weren’t supposed to do that. Why does it do that?

You should get some mini glide baits
The best micro lures to me are the eurotackle hardbaits i love all of them
AH MAN DEBOS GOING MICRO...NEXT HE WILL BE GETTING INTO SLAP..LOL JK. DEBO
Would love to see you throw those micro finesse jigs, they look juicy!
That reel would have a crackhead in it if it was a Diawa 😅, thanks for the information brother
Forgot to mention. Yes those are the mule heads. 💪
So sick deebo im not really a BFS guy but it was a super interesting video. Keep up the great content.
Your shimano reel must of been a monday morning or a Friday evening reel 😅
