This is stunning-not at all what I was expecting. I almost never leave comments…but this is by far the most “alive” and natural paint job I’ve seen on UA-cam. It’s a whole different level of art. Just beautiful. Please do more like this!!!
Wow thank you Mark for such an amazing compliment! That really warms my heart! 🙏😊
Beautiful work. I appreciate the various techniques you share. Thx
Thank you! Really appreciate your comment! 🙏
Superb stuff Wannes. Thank you.
Thank you so much my friend! Glad you liked it!
Amazing job!!
Imagination,talent, Art.
Nice work, congratulations.
Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment! 🙏
Beautiful work!!
Thank you so much! Appreciate the comment!
Very cool! Your channel is making me want to paint my lure by hand now. That is an amazing paint job!
Thank you so much! You could always try combining a paintbrush and airbrush 😀That is what i end up doing most often
@@lureblanks will definitely keep that in mind! Tight lines. 🤙
Awesome paint job, thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Thank you for the compliment!
this is such a helpful video, very talented
Man that looks great. That's a fish catcher for sure. Really appreciate you sharing your trick tips and skills brother. Keep them comming.
Thanks man, really appreciate the comment and compliment! 🙏
Thanks for this excellent video! Best one I've seen! I actually accidentally caught a nice old Rattle Trap lure the other day and want to sand it and repaint it and put new hooks on it!!! I've never painted much before and I am far from being an artist, but I do think I can do this!! A nice white base coat is a great idea after I sand the lure first!!! Thanks again dude!!
Aah great to hear that! That really warms my heart! Good luck with h the rattle trap and hope you will catch a nice fish with it afterwards!! Happy painting and tight lines!
insane work. Hope i can do something like this by myself one day :)
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the compliment! And I am sure you can, Practice makes perfect and you and you can always follow along with my video 😊
You got to be a artist. I can't believe how good that turned out.
Thank you so so much, that is a huge compliment!
@LisaBlooper thanks! 😊 i don't see that as an issue 😁 that's a good thing! 👊
That's cool! Thanks.
Thank you so much! 🙏
Wow that’s impressive 😮
Thank you so much! 😊
The uneven surface that is left by brush strokes is actual something i sometimes do on purpose. The reason is that when i am casting a crankbait im trying to recreate a natural presentaion to mimic a feeder fish that was dropped by an unlucky bird of prey. So the uneven surface can kind of mimic the damage to the skin that may have been caused by the bird's talons.
That is an interesting theory you are working with! Sounds like you are fishing for smart and well trained fish that have seen many hooks before
sick af! 😍
Well done
Thank you! 🙏
I think that turned out better than the airbrush version.
Haha thank you! Mixed media has always been my favorite way to paint, never sticking to one thing only, maybe we are putting too much focus on airbrushing and should look into combining things more
Awesome
Thank you!
I think your technique with the sponge and paper towl is brilliant that lure looks 100 times more realistic than airbrushing. I will be trying this....
Thank you so much! It´s funny how the most simple tools sometimes can produce such good results, I think I use a paper towel in pretty much every lure I paint now ( combined with an airbrush) 😊
🍻🎣 love it
Thank you so much! 🍻👊
This is excellent. I use paint markers and really like my results, but alot of these techniques will allow some effects o haven't achieved consistently. Thank you very much.
Great to hear that and thank you for the comment! With paint markers is not something you see everyday, That is really cool!
@@lureblanks I airbrushed for awhile, but my stuff looked like everything else, then my wife suggested I try to do an impressionist version, since I'm a fan of that style of art. It's a lot easier to do all of the tiny strokes on something the size of a lure with markers compared to a brush.
@@albow4oops5 That is really cool! Never thought about impresionist art and had to google it, I like the history behind too! Being denied and disliked everywhere, just because it was to different. I can imagine your lures are unique as well then. Expressing yourself and enjoying the proces, being proud of your art, that is what lure painting is all about, awesome man!
Like all your work, this is superb. To me, it demonstrates your extraordinary talent and skill even better than the "usual" airbrush sessions on the Lureblanks channel. Thank you so much for sharing. Chris
P.S. I knew as I watched that this paint job was turning out well, but it's only when you zoomed in at the end that I was truly stunned by its effectiveness. Is there any way that you can rig your camera so that the image of each lure you're painting is closer to the viewer?
Wow thank you Chris, That is an amazing compliment, one of the best any artist can get. Thank you for that and that means a lot to me. That is some great feedback!
I can edit more close ups while I am painting, that is not a problem at all. One question, As you know i like to fast forward my painting processes to make the video less boring and not too long. If i make a close up of the application of paint, should it be in normal speed then? So it is clearer what I am doing and how it looks? And then perhaps speed up the rest after that. Let me know you think!
@@lureblanks Believe it or not, I was going to mention the "fast-forwarding," but I had already made one request (the close-up camera) and I didn't want to appear greedy. i don't know how other followers feel (you might ask!), but I'd like ALL your videos to be in normal speed from beginning to end! That way, I would be able to see every detail of your techniques and thereby learn more in order to improve my own work.
If you don't feel that's possible or advisable, your plan of different speeds for different stages of the process seems right. Thank you for your reply and, most important, for sharing your skills and experience so openly with us. Chris
@@labtrainer09 It is my pleasure Chris and there is nothing i love more then people that appreciate it! That is the very reason why I do this.
I think making videos at variable speeds is the best way of meeting everyone in the middle, you got people who want it to go a little faster and other that want it to go slow. I will do take in account that i make some more close ups in normal speed, showing the application or technique and then speeding up the rest of it as it is the same often. Great to have some feedback on that and i really appreciate that! Thank you, Wannes
Nice video. Very detailed. Something makes me think this guy was into art and painting long before he was i to fishing. Either way, good content, bro.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that! I have fished almost my entire life, starting with some bait and a float. Never really been into art or doing something creative since a few years ago when i started painting lures. Which only shows that anyone that is willing to put some time and work into it, can really make beatiful art 🍻
Just tried out some of your techniques on some lures. No where near as good as yours, but I really enjoyed trying thank you for the video 🙂
Thank you! Mine did not start out at the highest level either, so don't give up and enjoy catching fish on them!
This is incredible! Is there any type of clear coat that you can brush on ? That’s the only part I was confused on. Wasn’t sure how you did the clear coat at the end .. thank you !
Thank you! I used an uv epoxy resin , which you can brush on. Also a regular 2 part epoxy would work really well and can be brushed on 👌
Beautiful! But what do you seal them with to protect your work? Great craftsmanship!
Thank you so much!!! Really appreciate the comment! I used a UV epoxi from Amazon to seal this one. I am pretty happy about the durability and quality of this UV resin 😊
Wow! That's awesome. I want to paint up some 3d printed lures I am printing. What kind of clear do I need? New to painting.
Thank you so much! The choice of clear coat depends more on what kind of fish you are after. And depending on what you can get your hands on based on where you live. If you lures are going to see a lot of teeth and rocks and such it always best to go with an epoxy because these are the strongest. If your lures do not get abused a lot by anything sharp you can get away with clear coats used for dipping lures or clear coats in spray cans 👊
Great video! Just wandering if you could link the epoxy you used for it and also can you link the colors and paint you used?I wanna start painting lures?Thank you
Thank you! 😊 the paints are linked in the description of this video, but you can use these techniques with any color you like too! As for the clear coat you will have to look and see what's available where you live. Ask around in a fb group.what other people use in your area. Because it is very different everywhere. I use a uv resin, but you can also use an epoxy resin or a clear coat dedicated for lures 👌
@@lureblanks would it be OK to use diamond finish clear coat
Thank you so much for responding
Hello! When I use Alclad II chrom or holomatic the epoxi clearcoat destroy the effect. Is it different when you use shift colors? Do you know a way to coat chrom or holomatic colors with epoxi without destroying the effect?
Hi! As far as I know this is something that you can not prevent. The same happens with the createx chrome paints and also some other special paints. They lose their effect after clearcoating. It is because clearcoats give paints a wet look and some special effects lose their effect because of that. Vallejo color shift paints do keep their effect and a clearcoat even enhances it a little bit just like with regular metallic and pearl paints 👌
Quick Question: if you are going to paint a topwater lure black, do you still start with a coat of white?
Great question! No I skip the white, since opaque black already covers so extremely well I just use black as a base coat then 👌
Ofcourse you had a video pertaining to my painting question. Biltema cans, are you in scandinavia, Sweden? If so, it is very nice for me :)
Jajämen! Bor i sverige med! Jag har svarat på dina frågor i en annan video 👌😁
How many dips for clear coat do you use?
Usually 2 coats, sometimes 3 if it needs to hold against pike teeth or has bad adhesion
Damn
I love how you fast forward through the actual painting🙄
What is the holder you are using?
They are called helping hands or soldering station, You can find them at a lot of places 👍
What is the tool you have that is holding the lure called?
They are called helping hands or soldering stations 👌
Does the type of paint matter?
No not at all. As long as you can thin it to the right consistency if needed for the lighter spots on the back of the lure. You can use any paint you like 👌 experimentation is the answer 👊
Can I buy this one?
Absolutely! You a find him here: lureblanks.eu/custom-lures/no-airbrush-squarebill.html
Thank you for the support! 🙏
Se om jag hinner komma upp till er i sommar. Då får du ge mig en privatlektion i betesmålning. 😊
Jajämen! Det löser vi då!! 😄
I wish I could see you actually doing the techniques you speed it up we can’t watch and learn
I understand, I´ll keep that in mind with my feature videos!
In the meanwhile you can slow down the playback speed in the video on youtube itself if you like to slow everything down a little 😊
