Pembrokeshire Wild Prawns and Sea Spaghetti beach feast with Craig Evans

  • Even though there were plentiful top quality mussels around I decided to cook something a little different "Thong" weed or Sea Spaghetti. The Prawns have arrived in good numbers and I decided to cook them with Cockles and some nice big Edible Periwinkles.Alexanders were added for flavour. This area is a great place for "Dahlia" Anemones,they live in the surge gullies,where they can catch quite large prey ( including) crabs ,swept in on the strong current.

    It's so important that hunter gatherer / survival skills don't fade out of human knowledge, thanks for sharing your expertise and I beg you to pass as much of your knowing on in this format for the future generations !

    • @CanadianCCP
      @CanadianCCP 5 років тому +1

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, its not important at all that they don't fade out of human knowledge. Any human ever could understand how to catch this, or hunt that, or cook this. We would be just fine. A better thing to worry about is the amount of inbreeding that happens in the UK, now a bunch of retarded brits as humanities last hope is another thing entirely and I think if the English were the last humans to exist the world would be fucked.

    Another brilliant video 👌. I find them so relaxing and informative to watch. The colours on the anemones were beautiful. I think if the camera where to move just a little slower we’d of been able to see the anemones in more detail. Llew is so well behaved 🐶👌. He’s especially cute when he’s trying to catch the jumping prawns in the net 🐶🍤😄.

      I haven’t received notifications in several months. Maybe Chris hasn’t either.
      I do know UA-cam has removed the bell notification on some vloggers’ channels. I read one man’s vlog who stated UA-cam turned his off without notifying him, and it caused him to lose 50% of his income because people are not aware a new video has been posted. The posters have complained to UA-cam but UA-cam doesn’t seem to care.
      There are a lot of people who are using UA-cam as their only source of income. I feel bad for those people. Some of them said they are going to another platform, but there is a monthly fee viewers have to pay in order to see the videos. I hope it works out for everyone.

    • @snappletrolling2485
      @snappletrolling2485 5 років тому

      @@patshhi4620 It's sad but UA-cam doesn't really care about content creators. Many videos are flagged for copyright even when songs and other media used are fair use, which puts a dent in the incomes of MANY UA-camrs. These are big channels I'm talking about too (100,000+ subscribers), so I can't imagine how it is for these smaller channels.

    I love watching the older foraging guys who make videos rather than the younger foraging people because they always seems to really want to teach people the right way to do it as well as how to cook it, rather than the younger ones always making click bait videos.

    That water is still pretty cold went with the mask and snorkel the other day for some spider crab got some footage coming soon. Those were some lovely size prawns you had there as far as I am concerned they are some of the best tasting prawns you can get. Sea Spaghetti ? I'm not familiar with that one.

      Hi Trojs Fishing, I filmed my first Spider of the season at Newgale last week. The Prawns are first class and really delicious. Sea spaghetti -thong weed (Himanthalia Elongata) is a common seaweed of the lower rocky shore that likes some shelter from the storms. There must be some great ares available to you in the Channel Isles. You can even buy it (dried ) online,. Where can I see your Spider Crab footage .Regards Craig

      Emanuel, I think he said before that he learned himself. If he found something he didn’t recognize he would go home and look it up on the internet or look it up in one of the many books he has. I know he does a lot of research. He’s a very smart man.

      Yeah I was thinking that, although about other countries in general, not Florida specifically. That's the great thing about England, lots of edibles but very little dangerous wildlife.

    I just found this channel and I adore it. I live on the coast in Mississippi USA and we have no where near as much food on shore unless you count the flounder at low tide. I would be in heaven there I don’t think I would ever leave the beach.
