I don't get how software engineers get anything done like this... I was/am an IT intern at a large local company and from the moment I get there until 1, it's pedal to the metal, getting work done and doing small tasks that need to be done but the others don't have any time to do. Then a 30 minute lunch, and back to it again until I go to my next class or 6PM, whichever comes first. I still also completely have work to do and never really run out.
EDIT - Reading WowPlusWow's comment and the responses to that, I guess it just comes down to who you are as a person. I guess I'm just no fun all business, get work done and do it well so I can have more time to do what I want later, compared to someone who spaces it out. It just works for me.
    I just don't get it.

I am a CS graduate. My suggestion is start thinking right now of a project you love and start coding. You will pull your hair out but since you love it, you will keep on going and eventually... worrying about coding will be a thing in the past. Also, CS is one of those career that can give you a lot of free time to do other things like UA-cam, which I am desperately trying to get into, but can't seem to get anywhere. Good Luck. If you have more questions, contact me.

I just graduated with a CS degree and landed an awesome software engineering job, and I was exactly like you when I started college. I didn't even know what coding was when I decided to take the intro course. I'd say that it's probably going to feel overwhelming at certain points, but the most important advice I can give you is to talk to people. Talk to your classmates, talk to your TAs, and if possible, talk to your professors. It's super easy to feel isolated in those early classes because you don't have the experience that some of your peers do, and that's okay. The key is not letting that feeling of isolation take over. Don't feel embarrassed to admit you don't understand something just because you feel like everyone else does understand. Be ready to be challenged, jump at opportunities to work in teams/talk to people about your classes (assignments, projects, readings, etc), and always stay hungry. You'll catch up to those with prior experience quicker than you think, I promise you. You got this!

Some people in the comment section post very very narrow minded comments, some out of jealousy and some, just because they can't comprehend things they haven't seen in their life yet and think therefore it can't be true. If you live like that, how are you ever gonna actually understand code or mathematics? Guys if you want something then think about what you have to do to get there and do it. Some people are lucky and some people need to work their way up, but I believe many people have the potential to get the life they want, if they want it enough to put the initial effort of doing research and getting out of their comfort zone.

also this is cool, we recently started adding a mini gaming room at the office.
Your morning are similar to mine. I normally arrive around 8:15- 8:30 am and talk for a bit before we work, do a bunch of problem solving and then meeting @ 10:30 am- 11:30 am, usually we all grab Starbucks (we have one in the building) go back to finish working on any tickets with issues people summit. then watch espn for bit, because Shannon is funny, then go to a team meeting which last about 30-45 minutes. Head to grab some food. come back around around 2 pm, finish work. run updates to see if everything is working correct, when is not, hit my head on the desk and run it again. Right before 4 i run any last updates for the day, prepare anything for the next day. leave around 4:15 pm......
