Words cannot express how much I love Eric Clapton.,59 years old in Old orchard Beach ..Maine...The music of my life...I am in love with your Music...God bless you Malia and your beautiful daughters....love from Maine..xxxxxxooooo
I was born 1998, but this song is so nostalgic and it makes me want to be part of seventies... Also, this lady’s vocals are the best I have ever heard. Ty dr Clapton.
His addiction was in full force during this period, you can see it had a grip on him. But I think we are all happy that he came out of it alive, many didn't.
It's so good to see rock stars make the decision to get clean and live healthy. So many people think they cannot be creative without drugs, and that's unfortunate.
No he was cleaned up as far as drug addiction this is where his alcohol addiction was really taking over in cocaine bars to heroin he had beaten that but then he went to just get another one unfortunately but at least you made it through all of those
He was a full on drunk from 1968 to 1983, he then went to rehab and was clean for a couple months and then went back to drinking. It was only after attempting suicide (drinking all the liquor he had in his house and downing a full bottle of Valium) that he got clean and stayed clean.
Such a lovely tune. Why he continues to play sunshine of your love and not theses gems.... well I guess he can decide. This - was Great band great clip.
Heyyy ! Hello Old Friends, I'm on the FREEDOM SIDE, always ♥️ , HOPE YOU ARE ALL There Too , Great songs EC is the best seen him 3X, always a GREAT concert , met good people best times EVER,
He certainly has a lot of hits!! He's not a virtuoso, but maybe that's why it's good. Sometimes the complicated stuff stops sounding like music. 70s-80s Clapton is my fave.
He was in the throes of his alcoholism here. If you're referring to the head shake, I think that was just him trying to keep himself alert, the way you might shake your head back and forth while driving late at night to make sure you don't fall asleep at the wheel.
And Marcella Detroit (as Marcy Levy) who went on to Shakespears Sister and has worked with countless legends! Multi-talented, plays guitar and harmonica, co-wrote Lay Down Sally. You can hear her in two different parts of EC's career, this period, then again in the mid 80s, e.g. at Live Aid! Also look for her Hyde Park 2018 performance of The Core!!!
George Terry was an excellent and mostly unknown guitarist. He carried Clapton during these years when Eric was so messed from heroin that he could barely play.
George's Lead was rather loud. i cant help but notice Clapton's a little apprehensive at first. i still to this day, dont understand why he choose the accustic guitar to play, rather than his Strat on this one. could it have been because Dylan was camping down below the garden..and would pop in and out of rehearsel on this album. who knows. @Ronald Dunn - hello from Kentucky..i was born and raised in Kalamazoo. however raised my family and children in Kentucky since 1996.

Found out today a good friend of mine from yesteryear passed. I had to listen to this song. I hope I get to see him again on the other side…
This song started making me nostalgic for high school friends in my mid 20s. At 63, it kind of tears my heart up a bit.
you aren’t hearing the same song i am. mine is a time machine taking me back to the summer of 1977. hello, old friend.....
I was 16 and in love with every girl I met back then...lol.

Marcy and Yvonne, amazing
Yip, this was a good collection of people
I first saw this concert when I was 10 years old in 1982, I didn’t fully understand why, but I knew I wanted to meet a girl like Yvonne Elliman 😍😍
This song brings back great memories of my young life as a teenager
living in the 70s..

Sound Engineer: How much volume do you want?
George Terry: Yes.
George Terry made a lot of people sound good 🎸🎸🎸
70yo and still remember this song like it was yesterday. Oct 2024

@@finismalorum9746 i thought he was a heroin addict?
Yvonne Elliman

I used to HATE it, now I love it. Oh well, I guess that happens when ya grow old....
My golden friend!!! Eric Clapton!!!
2 great guitar pickers..😎😎
I can take Eric any time, any where -- His talent is unquestionable - Great Song
Yvonne Elliman on backing vocals.
Hello OLD FRIENDS---From Maumee, Ohio, BGSU, Grand Rapids, MI., still living and loving and those who have passed on, RIP!!!! God Bless, ALL!!!!
Ronald Dunn I love the Midwest , normal people 🇺🇸⚓️
Hello from Milan, MI, between Detroit and Ann Arbor, not far from Maumee! Greetings from 2020
RIP Jamie Oldaker, the drummer in this video. His passing was announced today :(
Marcy and Yvone both sound good and look good, Eric looks a little dazed here but still sounds good. One my favorites of his.
He admitted was drunk asf lol... still played pretty well I say, but that's why he had george terry to do the heavy lifting.
He looks so sad. Hope he's happy now, he deserves it. Thankyou EC.
Lordy Lordy !! Love my old friend and Eric!
Such a lovely tune. Why he continues to play sunshine of your love and not theses gems.... well I guess he can decide. This - was Great band great clip.
Got to love that stratocaster

Hello old friend, so many memories.
This song has grown on me like crazy. Love this version.
I miss that band.
Great tune long time since I heard it ☺️!
Wonderful band, beautiful song, thanks
The voice!! The sweet song!! My lov!!!
If you don’t dig this tune I’d still give you a lift if you were broke down on the side of the road but not sure we could be friends
out standing!!!
eric claptons not my favorite guy , but then when I listen to him , I realize he is !

joshua george stop talking shit not a virtuoso haha

Excellent!!!
Beautiful 😍
Great music love this...........
George Terry 🖐️👍
awesome band sounds great
Very good to see you have nice again!!!!
THANKS ERIC
Wow, how he has evolved!
Happy Birthday EC. 🎂
Me encanta!!!!!💕💕💕 Eric Clapton 💕💕💕
Yvonne Elliman. 😁🧡
Mallows !! Precious Angel!!! My gif I love you Eric and your lovelie!!
Hello old friends
Wow
@2:07 EC looks all "agro" with George Terry's lead - sounds just fine to me - our am I missing something???
He was in the throes of his alcoholism here. If you're referring to the head shake, I think that was just him trying to keep himself alert, the way you might shake your head back and forth while driving late at night to make sure you don't fall asleep at the wheel.
Thats great mixing, you can hear every instrument clearly the only thing kinda bad in it is how loud the lead guitar is, great tune tho
Happy Vibe JAN 2025
Wonderful song. You could tell Clapton was wanting to take lead lol
he looked healthy and happy there though belting out some awsome music for are little ears kiddies lol
I thought he had an excellent band during this period, great backup singing too.
EC still the best
Slow hand. Clapton is God
Where’s the great Jesse Ed Davis?? He should be playing the great lead guitar part he created for this!!
Mcd velcro seats still unchecked
how do you count the stars? EC is Bright!
Eric understand-they use that song to imply that I cannot remain in the area where I grew up and cannot be with a woman I care about...
Slowhand is God!
What is the meaning or intention in the picture on the backdrop?
Yvonne Elliman baby
Yeah how bout that! Was surprised it wasn't Eric on lead electric, sure sounds like him. Yvonne looked like she's a drummer, must be English.
Or, as Eric said that same night, Yvenne Olliman
And Marcella Detroit (as Marcy Levy) who went on to Shakespears Sister and has worked with countless legends! Multi-talented, plays guitar and harmonica, co-wrote Lay Down Sally. * 2018 Eric Clapton, Hyde Park, The Core
“If I can’t have you ...I don’t want nobody baby” is right! She’s so beautiful and talented.
My favorite songs of all times
His sweet wife Mallia !!!
Eric appears a bit tweaked that George is turned up.
Clapton's one of the greatest guitarists ever. But why isn't he playing lead? It's like having Pavarotti singing backup vocals at the opera.
His other guitar player is very good - I think it’s cool that Clapton is doing the acoustic.
George Terry was an excellent and mostly unknown guitarist. He carried Clapton during these years when Eric was so messed from heroin that he could barely play.
He was awful too often trying too hard and ruining songs.

Mostly the drink, at this point.

What guitar is George Terry using.
Musicman
Hey my left friend
Is this about george harrison?
Still amazing. 😁👍😁💛💛
Favorite EC song, but he looks like he is in alcohol hell here.
He was ☹️
who was it with him Delaney and Bonnie maybe?
Yvonne Elliman with the morracas
They always advise big shot guitarist to learn to sing. Excellent advice
he plays rythym, acouistic
One word " Range "
I'm surprised Clapton let that dude play lead lol
the lead volume is way way too high..
When you could understand the lyrics.
what is he on?
He was in a bad way at this point if you get my drift.
tuckyuk he was hardcore into alcohol at this point
He's drunk!
Booze
Heroin aswell I think.
Too bad Jesse Ed Davis wasn't playing lead..... would've been warm n soothing like....an old friend
Baby daughters Ruth ..
Ella and Melg
Clapton seams ok and what a lovely song epic but maybe Clapton should of took that guitar from that kid and played lead lol
EC never looks happy when he’s playing. I wonder why?
He was in a very bad place when this was filmed ☹️
Who the f************************************************* is George Terry????
Theyre a little off beat. But he spent hos money
George Terry ruins this song by trying to be too clever with the slide riff. He was a poor 2nd guitar.
Not a fan of George Terry's guitar work on this at all. the tone is brutal. no feeling what so ever. Just awful.
