@@shatelleperry6881 Billy Preston is one of the most underrated musicians EVER and was never given his due. It's a crime that he wasn't inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame until 2020 - 14 years after dying in 2006. He wrote some of the Beatles greatest hits and was considered the 5th Beatle. Even the Beatles ripped him off and never gave him his full recognition. Preston died with a Net worth of $1 million dollars. The follow are the net worth for each Beatles: Paul McCartney: $1.2 BILLION! Yoko Ono (Lennon): $700 Million Olivia Harrison (George): $400 Million Ringo Star: $350 Million Billy Preston: $1 Million There's something seriously wrong with those numbers! SHAMEFUL!
It’s true but lit like a lot of victims billy was one himself. Sexualy abused as a child. Who knows what torment these people suffer. It’s like a cycle of abuse. Remember billy for being a great musician. Perhaps his failings were not his fault.
I remember Billy being in the 2nd version of the Sergeant Pepper movie. I really love this song, though. George Harrison and Billy, amazing musicians. I know about Billy and the abuse etc. That's a big batch of imperfect! But it's also a sickness and him being abused is not his fault. People do what they know, even if, logically, they know it's wrong. I read he was honestly remorseful. There are sicknesses that aren't likely to be curbed with any treatment but imprisonment. It's horrible. However, I choose to look at the good he did in his life. He was an amazing musician and with this gift he did good in the world. He made people happy and made others want to be worthy of life. Yes, he did terrible things, but the man is gone from this world. I am not excusing anything he did, but only saying we can look upon the good as a bit of repayment for the pain he caused.
Billy Preston recorded this song right when George Harrison wrote it and it was not successful, and at the end of his life, he gave voice to this spectacular version. Justice was done!

Sad to hear that Billy Preston passed away. He was much more than just a keyboard player. He was a producer, a song writer and an all-round musician. His soulful voice will ring in my head forever. What a singer he was.
Me, too. I am dismayed to know that Billy Preston has died. I enjoyed his musical keyboarding since I became a young adult. As a keyboardist, Billy Preston made music come to life.
Billy was an absolute Beatle. They were like children around him when recording as he was such an accomplished musician when he worked with them all those years ago. God bless him
@Mike G -- There is a reason beyond just the greatness of the song: George actually wrote -- and gave away - "My Sweet Lord" to Billy Preston in 1970, who put out his own much more Gospel style version as a single that year. And yet... Billy, Eric Clapton, Ringo, Gary Wright and others ended up playing on Harrison's release of the song that same year. Meaning Preston was involved from the very beginning. He also worked with the Beatles off and on for years, as well as the Rolling Stones and others. A versatile, much loved artist. So he deserved to enjoy this last tribute to his friend George.
Being an Indian and a hindu, there is this divine connection between you and this song that sends you, your soul into a religious prayer deep inside your heart. I'm not a spiritual/religious person, but man, this song moves my heart. It's really beautiful even if it's simple. Wow, I'm just coming from the Get Back documentary. Seeing an older Billy Preston playing my favorite Harrison song actually almost brought a tear to my eye. Not to mention also having Clapton and Harrison's son on guitar with Paul and Ringo there too. I can't even describe the emotions that this video made me feel because it took me so much by surprise. Wonderful performance. And wow, Dhani Harrison looks SO much like his father here
Right?! Wiping the tears as I type.

And the dislikes not worth mentioning

Don't be religious, be spiritual, that's when you find the divine meaning.
And now Billy is jamming with George and John in heaven. And God, the biggest Beatle fan of all, is enjoying and singing along with them.
@shame fitzsimons - I'm the same! 51 years old, tears streaming. Why is that? Religious? Me? No. Spiritual maybe? Something in this brings out my love for other humans.

Even the Beatles ripped him off and never gave him his full recognition. Preston died with a Net worth of $1 million dollars. The follow are the net worth for each Beatles:
Paul McCartney: $1.2 BILLION!
Yoko Ono (Lennon): $700 Million
Olivia Harrison (George): $400 Million
Ringo Star: $350 Million

My heart broke a bit when his bros died...how often in ones lifetime will one get to witness a wander like this...absolutely phenomonal...

Sorry if I seem dumb . But is Mr Preston singing that it takes too long to see the Lord until we Die?
@@blt981 I think so! It's really interesting because that isn't something that **I** have understood from previous recordings and on the album but it's easily read in the lyrics so I don't know why I hadn't noticed!
@@Andythrax his singing enthusiasm inspires me !! , RIGHT TO MY SOUL. 67 yr old retired Police Officer here. Seen mORE THAN THREE LIFETIMES OF MANS VIOLENCE ,hate ,murder lack of civility ,ALL in my 33 yrs of service . LORD HAS BLESSED ME TO LIVE IN PEACE HAVING MET AND married to a Beautiful Irish Lass from Ireland whom I met on the job. ALSO IN BLUE working in Patrol on THE STREETS TO PROTECT THE DOWNTRODDEN . She is 10 years younger than me and the most loving ,caring person my sole is attracted to. I am nothing without her. Not to mention her hot body and passionate ways as a women. Coveted by many male associates and asked why Him, take me many have said. HER RESPONSE. “ My Sweet Lord” ! I don’t fully understand her statement, but her continued love she gives me, MAKES ME WEEP FOR JOY…❤️
At least you can purchase the entire concert for George on a DVD box set. It has some incredible performances.
