#1 most important thing (for me)...you showed what YOU see. It's all well and good to describe a studio from OUR perspective, but it helps to show how messy/awkward a studio looks when you aren't looking at the framed image. That really helped me understand the depth and positioning of everything. Subscribed.
Your discussion of the placement of camera, subject, and background, is everything. I've seen a lot of videos like this and I've never seen anyone talk about this so clearly.
This is the first video I have seen from you and I was thinking you had like at least 200k subs, when i scrolled down and saw 3k I couldn't believe it. I'm redoing my studio this weekend and making 2 videos out of it. Great video!!
Hi friends, wow thank you so much for all your interest in this video! 🙏 May I ask a favor? I like this guy- answering the why is something that felt missing from most of these tutorial (even though they had useful advice). You've got my subscription, good sir!
Hey Kevin, I loved this video! It showed me something you're passionate about, gave me a way to interact with the material and ultimately make it my own! It was awesome to hear you talk about why you use the principles you listed out, and how they apply *directly* to how you operate as a youtuber. Often I feel other youtubers give advice that doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason - really great to see you adapt this sort of educational framework to connecting with viewers! Dropping in points around your brand helped me really identify what you are passionate about, and how you want to be viewed. This kind of *meta-tubing* that you're coming up with is awesome! It's functional, informative, and fun to watch!
META-TUBING! Haha I love that! Man, you have the best comments. I was worried that I'd bore everyone who wasn't trying to learn about video-making 😄You always have such great thoughts to chew on and digest. Thanks so much for taking the time to write all this, it really gives me a lot to think about and really means a lot!
Btw, I'm still relatively new to the youtube community and still wrapping my brain around usernames that aren't people's real names haha 😅. Do we know each other outside of youtube? I'm really curious because you always have such good relevant feedback lol! No worries if we don't - that's actually even cooler haha it still blows my mind how youtube can bring us all together
Wow, watched your whole video and was in awe of your studio and knowledge. I'm floored you don't have more than 7k subs. Thanks, I'm looking at redoing my studio and this helped a lot.
I shoot some of my UA-cam stuff inside the house, but no studio in my future. I know my work ethic. If I have a studio, I'll quit doing the type of videos that got me doing UA-cam content in the first place. I wanted to show people how day-to-day life in Saigon works for a USA expat. I don't think that a studio would do anything for my channel except make me lazy. I'm sure your studio works for you. My house would be great for a studio, huge rooms, 15 foot ceilings, but I don't see one in my future, unless I have a need to do commercial work, which I don't. I really did enjoy your show. I think you put together a nice place to shoot your content. The end result is really superb.
