    Great work my brother! Proves you don't need a massive space for a functional studio. I have a decent-sized space, but it is geared mainly toward audio recording and mixing. I'm in the process of changing up the space for a photography/video setup. I'm genuinely blown away by the functionality of your space. Your channel deserves at least 500k subs. I'm sure we'll see you get there! Peace and blessings.

  • @JESSEALLEN77
    @JESSEALLEN77 9 місяців тому +31

    The coolest thing about this video is that room looks like it is EXACTLY the size and shape of the room I'm currently setting up as a studio. I haven't really measured it, but it looks pretty close. I'm actually a musician and used that room years ago for some demo recordings for my band (mostly just vocals and some guitar stuff with one of my smaller amps; too small for a whole drum set or a whole band, of course. I have a bigger room next to the small one for that). But I just had some d.i.y. panels leaning against the walls in there. We were just a grungy punk rock band, so we weren't really trying for studio level, radio-friendly recordings.
    But now I'm looking to do some video work for a channel of my own. I was impressed how good the audio was in your video using relatively little sound treatment (especially considering you've got bare, hardwood floors, I've actually got some of that very thin carpet in mine). That makes me confident with what I've got to work with. I also didn't figure I'd need that much sound treatment for such a small room; but it's good to see an example of what a room that looks very similar to mine can sound like.
    As I said before, I've recorded audio, but never any video in there. I've recorded and edited a lot of video in the past, but it was mostly live performance stuff at different music venues. And some promo videos, and a few videos we'd sometimes project on a screen as part of our shows. I am also an animator, so tend to do a lot of animation in my videos. So that means I don't really have much experience using any kind of lighting. I've pretty much just filmed things as is, especially at the different bars and clubs my different bands have played in. Not too much you can do about lighting in those situations without it being a big and most likely intrusive hassle.
    Just got a cheap softbox light from Amazon today in fact. Was gonna try that as a "key light" I think. Got another LED video camera light I can use to. Will see how that works. Really just starting to learn about all that, so any little bit of advice and/or product suggestions I can get from videos like this is very helpful. 🙂

    • @SightseeingStan
      @SightseeingStan  9 місяців тому +4

      Really glad you found the video helpful! There really is a lot you can achieve with little things. For sound, just having the mic close to you really helps with the quality and minimizing "room noise". And for lighting, it's good to experiment a bit with what works. But sound and light and probably the key things what make a video nicer! Good luck with your setup! 👍

    Great setup! I have a slightly bigger (not much) space and you have given me a lot of ideas. I really like the multi-arm monitor mount. I have several things scattered on my desk and two tripods - one for a light and the other for the camera, so getting all of this and the mic on a single stand would be a huge leap forward for me. Plus it would also reduce the barrier of setting everything up and to actually do some recording.

    You just changed the whole prospective of making a home studio altogether. I was looking out for the setup of video and photography for auditions and reels but your video was quite interesting and helps gettings ideas on investing at the right thing when on budget. Thank you so much.

    Nice room! Got some inspiration for a box room I’m looking at. Quick thought: Drill a hole in the back of the desk drawer and wire the power strip through there, so that the cable isn’t hanging out the front.

    Nice set up for the space. Nice in-depth talk about each situation you have. I like the script thing and attach to the camera. I have been around for awhile but really just recently trying to get my channel going, but I'm limited on space and money. Thanks for the information about using a small space for a work area.

    Amazing set up ! It’s good to see that you can set up a studio without having a large amount of space. I have my art studio where I film my art tutorials in my bedroom next to my bed with a space of less than 6 feet. I love it. I’ve slowly added things to my editing table downstairs such as a mic arm and microphone and have been looking for a small soft box I can use for filming my talking head shots
