Why do you post a fake video ? We can clearly see both of them use indicators, bwm don't.
240 seems to have a bad launch here as it's slight behind the 235 in the beginning; it pulls ahead after 150km/h
or 20kg of fuel more?
No. It started off slightly slower cuz it's 15kg heavier in weight

That was closer than I thought it was going to be...though I think the M235i managed to get a cleaner launch...
Was erg benieuwd naar het verschil dus moest het filmpje meteen bekijken! Het verbaast me hoe het verschil zo klein kan zijn terwijl je zou verwachten dat de 240i hem er al vrij snel zou uittrekken. Hij begint pas weg te lopen rond de 180 en dan vraag ik mezelf af, is het het extra geld dan echt waard om boven de 180 sneller te rijden terwijl je het hier in Nederland slechts zelden kan doen? Ik moet het nog zien! Topvideo!

Lucky to have driven both of these engines, you definetly feel a difference between them, especially at the top end.
Which one is better in your opinion between m235/40i
@@SuperKoreanzombie I´d choose the 40i, you can feel the extra power at the top end for sure. But it´s not like a Different world. If you dont rev out the engine often its probabaly not worth paying the extra money.

@@SuperKoreanzombie well it is not only power that matters... if you need to go to work and lets say you don't have a far location to reach the 40i is gonna be much more tolerant of that. B58 engine >N55
both great cars but the M235i does sound nicer than the M240i

Is the N55 as reliable and well-spoken as B58? Any thoughts after ownership? Thx!
I own a M235I and I've driven a couple of M240s. The 240s I drove were faster (marginally but noticeably). I think the B 58 engine in this video was a little bit off.

@@AndresAndreaTV I own the m240i and I can tell that you won't regret to pay a little more and have a little compact monster that can keep up very well to bigger rivals. Also the B58 engine is somewhat extraordinary and has forged internals as a closed deck engine. In the end it is up to you. Wanna tune it and stay relieabile-proof then go with b58. Wanna have a better sound go with 35i N55.
The most important thing is the cooling system: B58 is going to be more tolerant of low mile driving.
In the end I would say they both are reliable and very sporty cars! It is up to you which you like more.

@@AndresAndreaTV I have a f23 235i. My brother has the f23 240i. The n55 gives me zerooo issues and is veryyy fast stock, burbles, everything. You will not regret owning it. I’ve had mine for 6 months now and every time I drive it, it feels like the very first time. They are thrilling and handle amazingly

miss my 235, i must say it was the best engine i have ever had in a bmw, similar to the e46 m3.
The m2 takes the 235 up to 140 but after 140 the 235 beats the m2, exactly what the 240 does here to the 235... yes i know , doesnt make sense but i promise u. check for a video here on youtube that is a 235 vs m2

n55 lacks top end power, also the m2 has a much higher drag coefficient than the m235/m240

@@AndresAndreaTV n55 is definitely a reliable engine but it doesn’t quite beat the b58, I’ve heard the b58 is one of BMWs most reliable engines to date

And something as simple as an intercooler upgrade can put the n55’s top end ahead. I prefer the n55, more character

@@nilp2000please explain? I’ve had an n55 m235i for the past 7 years and she has treated me fantastic.
They’re also much easier and cheaper to fix than the “coveted” b58… I’d much rather not have to pull the engine to do a simple vanos job, which is mandatory on a b58. Shit I don’t even have to pull the engine to replace timing chain. N55 is where it’s at when it comes to power potential, reliability, character, and serviceability. You better either be a great mechanic with loads of tools or have very deep pockets with a b58.
I was thinking of buying a f30 335i with a chip. It should sit around 500nm and 370 hp then. I hope it goes like these 2 lil rockets do then
with stage1 my 135i has 372hp and 510NM is on the same level as a M3 e92. 0-100 and 100-200 a bit faster.
@@t.c904 I ended up with a 440i GC. This is slightly faster than the 35i but I mainly prefer the b58 engine over the N55. Pretty sure once it has a chip and MPE that it will do everything I wanted it to ;)

Any idea why digital speedometer does not go above 260km/h?
That’s because the German car manufacturers once decided to limit their normal cars (performance Cars not being in this list like full fledged M or AMG or RS Cars) to 250km/h top speed - the Mx40i and Mx35i cars do go faster after unlocking.
@@norbertnamenlos7711 mine (m240i LCI II) goes faster (290km/h) after stage 2 but digital speedometer does not show anything beyond 260km/h

In this case yes you're right. But the tune potential of the 240 (B58) vs 235 (N55) is even better and then there is a big difference
N55 is 306bhp not 326bhp.
Yes most version of this engine is 306hp, but the M235i is 326hp with the N55 like M135i facelift version. Look the first M2 non compétition is 370hp final version of the N55 before M2 competition with the S55 of M3/M4

the only thing that i dont understand and get familiar with is the orange light's color in the bmw's. i dont know if they're gonna "fix" that ugliness that makes a 2014 model look like a 1975 renault. and they have applied this style to all bmw's...
Greg R my 2015 228 had white lights. All of my older beemers had orange so I believe they did fix it... gettin the 240 next most likely

All the M235i needs is a tune. Simple!
Then tune the M240i, and it pulls away. Both the N55 and B58 are great, but the B58 is a bit better.
240 is a heavier car so the 135 is likely to get off the line faster as at launch there both torque limited by the engine ecu. The 240 has a tiny bit more power and so when weight and traction are no longer an issue it has the legs.

M235i only driver while m240i driver + cameraman? It seems so in the single videos of both cars.
I had a highway pull in my m135i lci vs a new 240i, my car is pretty light at 1390kg as I got no electric seats or the "comfort pack". It was neck and neck 100 - 200, the 240i, might have been inching closer to me, too close to call, but I do know the 40i series is heavier as it's got more tech.
I surprised the electrically capped top speed cuz I managed to get my M235i over 260kph /160 miles indicated last night 😳
Maybe downhill or maybe it is tuned :)

240i replaced the 235i, there was hardly any change in price. The problem with these comparisons is that they aren't run under the same conditions - not even the same road stretches. On paper the 240 (which has a new engine unit) should beat the 235, due to its additional power and, in particular, extra torque. Indeed, there are other comparisons showing how the 235i is out performed by the 240i. BMW quote 4.6 and 4.8 for 0-62 for the 240 auto and manual boxes, respectively, and 4.8 and 5.0 for the 235. Possibly the 235 here has been enhanced?
samsara now the initial msrp for the 235i is half what it used to be. Idk why people buy them brand new.
@@erickromero010 cause they do leases or they can afford to be stupid.. most get it to have factory warranty but i have the money to buy cash without financing.. ppl finance over 80% of the time so most ppl only own bmw because they think they are rich
