This is probably the best Tears of the Kingdom challenge run I've watched. Every single other one is like "Can you beat TotK ...........?" and then they proceed to break all the rules of their challenge in the first 10 minutes of the video. For instance: The paraglider, which you don't need to get, but, many people get it anyway, breaking their own rules. Basically, good job for sticking to your rules and good job on the high quality video!
It’s mostly irrelevant, given your route, but I was able to do the Monster Control Squads for Central Hyrule and Fort Hateno long before I did the Fire Temple. And while I didn’t find the squad in Eldin until after the Fire Temple, their camp chef was pointing me to them, albeit with super vague directions. Anyway. Very interesting video/topic. I’m impressed by anyone playing without the paraglider. And you did a lot I would’ve thought impossible without it.
I quite honestly couldn't actually finish the video because it made me irrationally angry to hear the constant smacking, clicking, and other "tch" "nk" "smk" noises every few seconds. It sounded like somebody chewing with their mouth open. Far from an issue with the actual video maker themselves, everyone makes those noises, but they stick out with microphones and are massively irritating to people with misophonia. ...it's also a shame, because the video is otherwise exactly the kind of thing I love! Very well-made, too.
Just so you know, Wings DO run on a timer, but it's a unique one, as the timer only runs when the Wing is generating Lift, suffice to say, if you can stop the wing from generating Lift, then the decay timer can never start.
The way this is edited, with the physical Hyrule map, the marker cutouts and the stop motion, is so unbelievably cute. I've never seen this done this way
The dedication to this run is insane! It sounds like it took ages. Definitely try to cut your mouth pops out of the audio when you finish a sentence, it's a bit distracting as is. Subbed! :)
A trick with gliders that I saw on Sollus’s “sky only” challenge. If you fly a wing with another wing in ultrahand, the latter one doesn’t use up any of its “durability”. You can then glue the wing to the one you’re on, get on it and unglue the old one. You can also grab several wings at once to repeat this trick several times. Maybe it will help you on some other challenge
10:56 That is actually trivial. Aside from the "recall fall speed reset" you mention, you can position a plank vertically and hold onto the side. Link won't separate from something that's falling if it stays within the climb angle range, even if it exceeds his own terminal velocity. You can also use a steering stick, same thing. You can also use a piece of ruins rubble as they fall slowly enough that Link will stay on them. I was planning a gliderless run for a while so I experimented with ways into the depths and found those. Side note; you _can_ fall down on something then go back up on said something using recall if you stay close enough to not unload the object but the game does not like it when you do that, and the items sometimes disappear when crossing the loading zone.
Really funny video and interesting challenge, and damn all the effort with the paper cutouts is cool But pleeeeease cut out the hundreds of mouth sounds you make after every single sentence, it's so unpleasant

I think that you are wrong about the "Bring Peace to Hyrule" quest line. I did the one in central Hyrule first, and then the one in Hebra, both way before going to the one in Eldin. I'm pretty sure they all appear at the same point in the game.
Yeah, turns out there are actually 2 lines, 1 starts from eldin, and only unlocks after the fire temple, then there's another that starts in central hyrule, but it goes across a region border, so that's also impossible
The decision to split the regions into their sky, depths, and land components is interesting, and I would be interested to see a run without that split where you can actually do all the regional phenomena
I really like the initial analysis section before the run itself. I’m a nerd, so this part of the puzzle solving is more interesting than the play through itself.
I have no idea why they have an option only for the audio, and nothing else. If you want to change the text language, you have to change the switch's language!
Oh wow. I assumed that making each layer of Hyrule count as a separate region would make progression easier because it gives you more routes and potentially a way to skip over a ground region you need to travel past to reach a different area, while saving that region for later. I forgot at first how several vital main quest missions require switching layers then returning later, which of course would lock them out...
This is such an interesting video! Love the idea! (Really makes me want to try it myself). There’s just so much planning involved and I might would like to try it the first option you gave where the sky middle and depths are all counted as one area to see how different it is!

Great video! However the lip smacking and inhaling really brings down the quality of the video. I get it it's a pain to edit out and or deliberately change how you formulate the start of your sentences but with the noises it's very distracting and hard to sit through.

Paraglider ones I’ve seen you can not get but mineru isn’t available to get so you can either skip a dungeon or get the glider and not use it

I said at the end, 31 Side adventures and 7 main quests, out of 60 side adventures and 24 main quests

theoretically you could get the glider before doing the dungeons, as leaving central hyrule isn’t required for it
You can’t then re-enter central Hyrule once you leave which is the issue.
