@jamesreardon8585 in the comments made a good point, i forgot at the time. the speedo would be reading a little different so i was probably doing more speed hence revs looking like they hadnt changed much, ill get a gps speedo readout and report back in another vid.

    Nice work and great videos.
    I have a Christmas 2022 LCDC79 heavily modified.
I did the same with the spare tyre 285 70 17 - bit of a struggle with the width too, but a port a power did the job to widen things a little.
Still kept the slide in tank protector plate though.
About your number plate troubles, I put mine on a 12mm square x 400mm long steel swing arm powder coated in 79 white with a stain-o latch.
It is located just under the Toyota decal on the bottom edge of the tray. The number plate sits directly in the middle of the spare tyre.
Just pull the spring stain-o latch, swing the arm to the left - spare tyre comes out...easy.
Very neat with LED plate light etc.
Could send you a photo if you want.
Worked a treat for clearance and looks good too.
Good luck, keep up the great work.

If you've got a GPS try it out and you'll find at 110kph you'll be going a lot faster if your Speedo was correct in the first place, the revs and the Speedo basically work together and won't change with different tyre sizes. The GPS looks at time x actual distance working out speed. When I put 33"s on mine I had a 9km(9%) discrepancy, as it happened the Speedo was always 9km fast so after fitting the tyres it was actually accurate. The same thing happens when you put a higher diff ratio in. Most speedometers read faster than the cars actual speed usually 4 to 5 km/h. Keeps people honest!?? But just in case it could cost you some speeding tickets.

I'm running Toyo AT2;s 285/75R16 on 7" wide ROH Trak 2 rims & have had no issues but the bloke at one tyre shop reckons with the 7" rims the tyre can & will crack in between the side tread blocks.

@@jelford194 I was looking at the writing on my 285 Toyo's & it only says "Fit to a 16" rim only" but there's plenty of information about 285's on a 7" & they reckon 7.5"wide minimum to 9" wide max. I've got the Lovell's SSM GVM 3900Kg upgrade & I spoke to them about this issue & they told me the same as the tyre shops and how I need to keep it as designed to keep the rating. The 3900Kg GVM upgrade was designed with stock 5.5" wide Toyota Workmate split rims with 7.50R16 8 ply Dunlop Road Gripper pizza cutters. The 12.9 grade wheel nuts, 1500Kg per rim & 10 ply tyre configuration exceed that original rating but it's just the rim width I'm concerned about, I'll most likely buy a set of Trak 2, 8"s.
