Well, 24 is about to turn into 25, where the hell does all the time go? I've had the pleasure of "meeting" some great people over the past year through this venture, mainly through instagram to be honest. It's bloody great to connect with like minded people, if you like the bush or 4wd's, or driving a 4wd in the bush I'm all ears haha. Thank you to everybody who watches the UA-cam (even if you ...

Well folks, it's been a while. This episode was filmed over a week while out bush, there's a lot going on at the moment with mustering on the station, grading roads, bore dramas and culling animals. Hi mate I feel you have brought for wrong model as mine from cruiser shop fits perfect no gaps, however add stipulates pre definition mine is vdj79 2009 model fits great
review for the fridge anytime ?
You're so cool bruh
Great content
There all a waste of money.
Excellent video, as always! One interesting thing I noticed, you don't run any driving lights? No night driving, standard lights good enough or they are coming? Cheers 👍
Hows the rear wheel track
😮😮😮
Don't over think it and don't turn it into a chore, do it to the level you enjoy it! We are only a bunch of free loaders at the end of the day, living some of our life through yours! Just do what works for you!
Haha, love it mate. I appreciate you all being apart of the community watching along. You are right though, gotta keep the passion for it alive, Thanks mate 👍
Love 79s but when I got my 79s first mod was the snorkel and tray so the tray sourted out the fuel cap but both mine are built now
Standing by ! Love your work 👍
🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱
I'm really not impressed with any 4x4 on the market the LandCruiser is farm equipment or a shopping cart depending on weather you buy a Prado or anything else nothing out there is real touring equipment and it's really disappointing
Good day mate, thanks for the video BUT you are complaining about stuff that all cruiser driver know about. ex - diesel cap- i don't see any dust, mine seal perfectly !!! Speakers, if you want better sound, put in a new sound system. My truck is a work horse, lux family truck and fishing truck. It works hard everyday and i LOVE it the way6 it is , stock standerd ! The long and the short, you know what you buy, if you want a lux truck, buy a hilux !
Thanks for sharing! Did ARB originally fit the 2859 springs for you? On my 76, they installed the heavy 2858 springs and MT64 shocks since I added an ARB bullbar, a Warn winch, and a set of lights at the front. However, my front is now sitting at 820mm, which is 70mm taller than the factory height-almost a 3-inch lift. My rear is sitting at 810MM which is 10 mm lower than the front. Do you think I should ask them to switch to the medium springs? Is the part number for those 2856?
I can't exactly remember the part numbers, how long has the set up been installed? Because it should settle a little over time. Because you are running a bar and winch i would stick with the bar/winch springs if thats what is installed and see how it settles in over time, see what the ride is like out bush and how it all handles. I have no winch so I have the bar only coils in now.
@@OutbackOffroadNTThanks for your response! I’ve put at least 2,000 km on the new lift and tackled three pretty challenging tracks. The front height has remained consistent at 820mm, while the rear has settled from 830mm to 810mm with no load at the back. ARB advised me to swap the front springs since the suspension also works off a pivoting point, as my 76 is 20mm higher in the front this causes further load to be put on the rear. Changing or lowering the front will probably take load off the rear and in turn the rear will likely sit slightly taller.
the 79 series is a top work horse had wagons before the 79 and totally loved them but the 79 is a robust truck, awesome vid
love it real world testing, the ARB gear gets the job done, i have had the nitr0 shocks they are great value shock
Yeah they definitely go alright for the money. Cheers mate
Different wheel track, piss weak LSD, terrible turning circle, dogshit parkbrake(still). gutless engine. terrible fuel economy. terrible build quality, I mean leek at that fucking front guard mounting? How shit house is that? Plus everything you said. Clearly the most over rated, overpriced POS on the market, lucky for Toyota there isnt anything else worth buying as a work ute.
Thanks for sharing . Nice set up.
Does it have adjustable rebound and compression?
No
Koni Raid shocks could be that something different to try next ?
I did run them on my Cruiser years ago, just not for very long. Could definitely be an option mate.
Real man, real testing. Cannot recommend enough. LEGEND
Haha, it's always good seeing how products withstand the abuse.
Well said mate. I had bp51’s on my old bt50 had no dramas with them for 130,000ks like you said though a some small squeaks from the bushes but that’s it. Can definitely recommend them to anyone who is interested 👍🏽
Cheers mate, yeah they are definitely a solid option, being a bypass shock with reb/comp adjust.
Possibly get some UPOL tiger seal into the joins of the raised air intake
Remember this truck is working hard every day mostly off road on a working cattle station so if they stand up good to this then most normal users will be very happy with them.
Yeah mate, that's it.
👍
👌
Is there a lift mate ? If not it is advisable to get a 2 inch lift for long term reliability and protection for your differential since it seems that you are traversing on fairly rough roads imo. 🤔
It's lifted 2 inches, though that doesn't raise diff heights. I am running 35 inch tyres though which lifts the diff a couple inches from stock tyres size
@ oh 😮 then what’s the alternative to fix the issue ? (raising this question to further my knowledge).
Well it's just one of things mate unfortunately, i need to better maintain the actuator guard. I'm also thinking about making my own so I can fabricate it exactly how I want, maybe thicker plate. Not to thick though, I think there needs to be a little flex on big impacts.
@@OutbackOffroadNT Marks 4WD is doing portal axles and CTIS. Maybe it’s too expensive for you and unnecessary for your requirement.
Yeah portals are cool but I would never run them, i try to remain as simple as possible.
Good to hear your thoughts. I have a set on my LC200. The MT64 does what it says on the tin and I'm happy with it. I'm ok with the stiffness but importantly it soaks up the bumps nicely. I was recently on corrugations and dunes, and I never once felt fatigued. I was happy with the set and forget. I'm not the kind of person who would reach into a muddy or dusty wheel arch to adjust the settings.
Yeah mate, like I said they are bloody solid, reliable units. A lot less to think about and/or go wrong compared to an adjustable, remote reservoir shock.
Got the same kit in my HiLux mate they're awesome. 300kg constants in the back and the mediums in the front
Yeah sweet mate 👌
I don't suppose you have a video or plan on creating a review with details? I'm planning on fitting it to my hilux and your specs sounds perfect.
O/O. Fair review as a consumer on all available dampers@ARB Downunder ! ! Your LC79 is treated quite well and is in no way worked hard, compared to the village people YT upload entitled "PNG River Crossing 1 & 2" in the islands Sir. Give 'Boss2' a try from Brisvegas boys and parabolic rear leaf next time ? ? V.
Will you consider parabolic leaf springs next time ?
I would definitely like to try them, they are more expensive usually though, and arb parabolics have to be ran with their air bags which im not a fan of.
ARB should sponsor you mate. You convinced me to fit a set to my 76. I would 100% take your word on a real life test then some paid puppet who works for ARB. Excellent review mate .👍🇦🇺
Haha, well thanks mate. Hey ARB if you are listening, I'll jump on board 😉
Also - is the GSL diff lock cover a good thing? Seems you got some damage even though it was fitted... Easy enough to install?
Look, it's done well and is better then the factory guard no doubt, yes it's copped an absolute flogging. I should have put a new one in sooner, it's just something that's needs to be maintained if your using your rig in the bush 24/7 I reckon. Extremely easy install mate.
Did you think about going ARB parabolics on the rear? Or is the mandatory airbag setup too much complication out bush?
Yeah look I'm not really a fan of air bags to be honest, I like to get the spring rates spot on without the need for air bags which shouldn't be there in the first place, in my opinion.
@@OutbackOffroadNT The ARB air bags can be run with 0 PSI, so it can be like they aren't there. I had Terrain Tamer parabolics on my Troopy (no air bags) and I really liked them. So I've just put them on my new 79 build, but ARB require airbags to also be fitted to get the GVM upgrade compliance. Not sure why. I just run them at 0 PSI because I don't need the extra assistance (I've got 800Kg springs).
Yeah for sure, I'd try parabolics just without air bags.
Good honest test. But don’t knock plastic valve caps. I have had steel caps corroded that bad after camping three weeks on a beach, that not even a tyre shop could get them off.
Trying to figure out the right settings for the BP 51's as you change road conditions is a bit above my skill set (and patience) so probs go for the set once and forget MT64's. Mate lost track of it but did you end up finding a way to fit your 33's into the under tray spare wheel holder? Still considering switching to 33's but I quite like the spare under the tray. I fitted the new KO3's which are like 31 and removed that spacer thing. Not sure if a 33 will fit??
Yeah mate you can fit a 33 underneath with a little modifying, nothing major.

@@OutbackOffroadNT I’m at 9’000kms with my MT64’s and can’t fault them mate. The bloke that asked you about the 33’s under the Toyota tray I sent him a link explaining how it’s done. Pretty easy job and I got a 285/75/16 MT under with no problems and fully closes 👍
@@ARCHIES_79_LC thanks 👍👍, just what I was chasing
Hey mate, I sent you a link explaining how to fit a 33 under your Toyota tray 👍
the sad truth about these vehicles is that the engineers still wont Listen to the people to buy these trucks, i know i own a v8 cruiser
I love my 2022 79 series Landcruiser 👍😎🇦🇺
90% of what people buy to go offloading or glamping is just marketed rubbish
I have the Campboss and can attest they are junk and not cheap. You can adjust them to a certain pressure but they deflate to a different pressure every time... don't bother for over $100
“So….. I just hit a cow” ….. as you do. Love the matter of factness 👍🏼
“That excites the shit out of me” haha….. love it!!
Great video's m8 keep them coming brother. Cheers to 2025🎉🎉🍻🍻🍻
Cheers mate
So many of our work car had destroyed injectors due to dirty fuel from bad Toyota fuel caps crazy expensive fix
We were very happy with the TJM snorkel on our 79 doesn’t require any more holes to drill noticed a lot less dust and debris in the air box
Congratulations on achieving 5000 subscribers Great channel and it will be great to see what 2025 brings
