Years ago I found myself in the same position as you driving around checking on the cattle and admiring all the grass and not watching where I was going and bogged my new Cruiser (1985- last 47series). Sitting there wondering how the hell I was going to get out of this mess when the bore runner turned up in his Suzuki seirra stockman ute and pulled me out. Copped a lot of grief over that.!
I've just bought one of these iTech chargers for my 79 2.8L build. Haven't installed it yet, but this is from the manual that comes with it: "If the charger is to be installed in the vehicle cabin, please ensure there is adequate ventilation around the charger, and that it is not installed in an enclosed space where airflow is restricted. The temperature of the charger case can typically be 20-30°C above ambient temperature - it is normal for the charger to feel hot and for you to not be able to keep a finger on the surface for more than a couple of seconds, as the case can exceed 60°C"
What a wonderful rain, I know what you mean about the smell. So much cattle feed. Great for all your native grasses and trees. 👍 one of your best videos
We never get sick of spending the day with you out on the property Brother. So good seeing the challenges faced in a day We learn so much. Looks so good when it’s all green hey Thanks heaps for sharing. Absolute Legend Cheers Brad & Fi 🤙🤙
That would be right now that I'm back home after living in your backyard for awhile you an hour family go and open a pub. Congratulations when it's all happening and customers come in. Beautiful place as always.
went to the bush pub for a night on the 21st last month, im sure she will remember the orange falcon lol. great place even if it is under construction, ill be back next year for sure. also went and had a lay down in the finke river at glen helen gorge there so its cool to see it flowing like that. thanks for the uploads mate
One of my best memorable camp is @ Finley river bank. All central Oz is a unique place I always treat with lot of respect. It’s good you and the family bring the old Arltunga back to life. Was bit disappointed with the way I found @2022 @0.30 my itech charger gets hot too but not that bad )it’s inside the Troopy) also @0.45 can I recommend to use midi fuse for main wire from the start battery )to replace your inline fuse) Looking forward to the next one mate. As always love your work.
I'm really excited about the old Arltunga pub having a rebirth, a couple of people have had a crack over the years but it's never been done right. Yeah I'll be changing up a few things on the 12 volt system shortly mate. Thank you, take it easy.
That mono pump must have a good non return valve in the suction to maintain prime. I do like the idea of it being above ground and easy access to do repairs.
Top stuff mate, love that country. Those blade fuse holders are cheap shit stuff. I'd be reducing resistance and replacing it with a midi fuse holder. The resistance is much less, also check the crimping of the connectors and importantly gauge of wire from engine bay to canopy. If the gauge based on length is not right you will have those issues described. Keep a fire extinguisher handy in the cab man. My ARB double air compressor had those blade fuses, why i dont know as they are crap, i swapped as described and it made a big difference. Enjoy the rain bruz. Country looks tops.
Great video. Definitely got to visit central Australia. Hope to be there in July 2028 for the full solar eclipse. It's going just north of Alice. Make sure you're free to get there and don't miss out.
Some dcdc chargers get to 80C and then derate to cool down. I have mine setup with a gap under it and a computer fan on top of it to help move the air. I taped the fan connections to the Anderson lugs by popping them out of the plug and taping the fan wires to the shank of the lug and then refitted.
Vent the canopy with 2 Muller vents from Truck Hardware eBay, won't leak & wont let in dust, fit to roof. I have 2 on my canopy. Need 5 B&S cable 16mm² from that run to the charger, hot cables means a dodgy joint or undersized cable. 60A midi fuse at battery, get the fuse holder from Repco. The Victron dc chargers can get to 75C.
I’ve been a follower for a while now but I’d love to come have a beer at that pub I’m a caretaker on stations west of longreach cattle sheep and goats cheers tha ol caretaker 👍🍻🇦🇺
I have an itechworld dcdc charger, and recently it burnt itself inside enough for it to lose connections inside (Luckily) . They replaced it but I'm concerned it happens again !
Yeah, not wrong mate. Look it's been great gear for 6 solid months but now I seem to be having problems and as I said when I installed it all, itl be a good test for it in the heat and on constant rough roads. Ahh well, still yet to get this set up dialled, cheers.
So, do own the cattle station that you work on or are working for someone else? I really enjoy watching your videos, keep up the great work. My UA-cam Channel is called (Powerlifting in Katherine NT)
God dam y'all, that ITech World stuff is shit. Their stuff was fitted to the rental fourbie we hired on our last trip to Aussie, up the Pilbara to Broome. Careful, it might burn your truck down. God dam, sooo much water about hey. The thing i remember most about the outback, bloody dry, dust and those dam flies y'all. Do those aborigines russell your cattle much? They seem to be loitering about looking for trouble?
Yeah it's been great gear for the last 6 months until now having some dramas, there's certain problems around here, to much to get into. But no, people are just driving around enjoying the rain.

90% discount from I tech is a warning to me
I mentioned in an earlier 12 volt vid I did that I thought that was strange.
Hi I have I Tech jump start very happy with it paid over $300 for it
That's good mate. I've loved this gear for the last 6 months
Poor man pays twice bro. Sometimes 3 times….
