i’m so glad you posted this video. i saw your anxiety/fear and am able to relate to that heavily. it’s good to know i’m not alone in having anxiety about being at the gym and for it to also be rationalized in that nobody really cares. for all i know, everyone else in the gym could be thinking the same things as me!

I was afraid of going to the gym as well until like six years ago (29 now) - Honestly I am very glad I got over the anxiety because I feel so much better having regular workouts.
I worked at a World Gym (very small one, only had a one person changing room small) while 80 pounds overweight. I was terrified but found out everyone there, especially the chiseled, ripped out of their minds, tattooed from head to toe people were the kindest most helpful people. I lost 50 pounds, don’t work there anymore but still workout there several days a week. I met a really good friend there. He’s 6’4, jacked, with full sleeve tattoos. He’s the type of person I would have avoided and hated from afar at the gym thinking he was judging me. Anyone with gym fear, I suggest going to a small gym where people there are regulars who are focused on their fitness because in my experience those are the people who don’t judge. They want to help because they were once beginners too. I could tell so many stories from working there that would lift everyones spirits about “gym bros”.

This is real body positivity. Very happy to see someone battling insecurities and trying to improve themselves. You go champ.
Great job keep grinding never give up!
You go girl. Never give up. You’re an inspiration to others. Never give up. I’m so proud of you 🙏🏾
Don’t hurt yourself and ego lift. Do what you can. It’s about improving yourself not hurting yourself. You got this Queen
Good for you!! You look amazing!
Great to see you trying to get in shape. I think cardio is better for losing weight, try to focus on that, but if you like to lift more, i ain't gon say anything
True but you need to tone while you’re losing weight too otherwise you’re left with loose saggy skin
I think any form of exercise will help with weight loss at my size and then once I get down in numbers I can worry about that :)
@@alismithhhh cardio is could for heart health but diet is most important, I believe in you
@@alismithhhh you probably already know this but weight loss is 70% diet, count your calories and cut off 2-400 from that number, and you'll slowly lose weight. cardio helps too of course
@@alismithhhh weights are actually amazing for weight loss because more muscle means higher resting metabolic rate. everything counts, absolutely right!
I like the vibe of a full gym better than an empty one. I just work around the other people since my workout isn’t set in stone and I just do what I want that day
I'm in my 60s, been going to gyms all my life. It's nice to see people of all sizes and ages at gyms nowadays. If you're self conscious wear headphones and drown everything out.
No one cares about u not in a rude way but no one is looking at you and if they are fuck them you do you and better your self also stay in your comfortable zone with weights could be dangerous and like u said putting your form at risk but you did good
I’m actually happy when I see people like you trying to change vs the people that force themselves to think it’s okay and are scared of reality.
If I was there I would have def came over and told you “good shit lady, keep killin it” so since I’m not there.. GOOD SHIT LADY KEEP KILLIN IT!!
Here is one thing I learned, everyone is focusing on themselves so no one will think or say negative things and if you catch them lookin at you they just think you are a great leader and wants to see how someone else does it before doing it by themselves❤️❤️
You're very inspiring! There's nothing more awesome than seeing someone work hard in the gym, no matter what level you're at. Even if it's not at the public gym, you should keep going!
You're crushing it. I still avoid the gym at peak hours because I'm worried someone in the locker room is going to say something about my scars from surgery or that I'm not like... Athletic enough to be there taking up space at the peak time. It's an irrational fear but it's so real and can stop you in your tracks.
The gym is the least judgmental place everyone is there to work on themselves so don’t be worried about it and keep grinding 💪🏻
@@hellothere4044 The least judgemental place is my home by myself lmao. I appreciate the encouragement, but for me as a trans guy, it's a safety issue and I'm better off being a little paranoid.
Omg , the treadmill trick is what I do too! It really helps it look like you know what you're doing once you get off the treadmill with a new plan.
Also, good on you for facing your fears! I always go when no one is there, even just a couple scattered around makes me wanna go back to my car and drive home. You go girl! ♥️
if people are staring, they’re probably just thinking “ i’m so proud / happy for her! shes moving towards a healthier life!” or something along those lines. gymbros are some of the nicest guys ever
I’m a newbie at the gym too and I just use the 2kg dumbbells, the PT told me that’s perfect to start off with.
When I see plus size women in the gym, it makes my heart smile. Yes, girl you are worth having a thriving healthy body. Regardless of your goals & size, a body in motion STAYS in motion.
Everyone I know who goes to the gym, including myself, are rooting for anyone plus sized in the gym. We know how hard it is to walk in there!
I'm just happy to see anyone at the gym. I see a person at the gym in a wheelchair, killing it and it inspires the everloving hell out of me. I don't really think about people's weights. It just doesn't factor in to me. I'll smile and talk to anyone haah
Gym bros are way more likely to be supportive than a "normal" person from my experience. Congrats on doing this, it takes some serious balls 👍
We gym bros love peeps at our gyms, any workout is a workout and bettering yourself is why we all start
I think what the most important thing to remember when feeling insecure or nervous at the gym is that everyone is there for the same reason: to grow and to improve. I get super excited when I see people making a change and building a better self, we’re rooting for you :))))
i’m so glad you posted this video. i saw your anxiety/fear and am able to relate to that heavily. it’s good to know i’m not alone in having anxiety about being at the gym and for it to also be rationalized in that nobody really cares. for all i know, everyone else in the gym could be thinking the same things as me!
Beautiful girl people are not judging you they are most likely very happy for you and thinking how cool it is to see you film your journey and some are probably wishing they had filmed their own journey. I’m so proud of you for putting yourself outside your comfort zone and actively battling your fears. Keep up the great work love❤️
First short I’ve seen tonight that isn’t a pretentious lie or trying to sell me something. Bless up girl🙏🏻❤️
I usually hate when people film but you are so respectful! Thank you for motivating me to do something I’m anxious about this week!
I have big-time gym anxiety. I love your bravery. Inspiring
I felt the same especially in the super in shape section. but they helped me when I asked and ignored me when I didn’t. It’s pretty cool seeing gym etiquette at its best. It also pushed me to stay longer and lift more.
There are fit newbies walking in there feeling the exact same way. The more you go, the more familiar it is, the less nervous you are.
Everyone is focusing on themselves as much as you are about yourself.
The attitude in gyms is not judgy at all. I've felt so okay being there no matter my fitness level.
gym bro here... keep lifting weights and keep Cardio to a minimum, it's what helped me! make sure you get your calorie intake under control. just take it slow and you'll conquer this!
I still tend to pick up heavier weights when there are people around. Started realizing I’m actually capable of more than I think lmao
You've got this! As someone with social anxiety, which often prevents me from doing stuff, you inspire me a lot!
I've noticed that people at the gym are usually always respectful of the grind. They see you working girl!
ive always been sooo terrified to go to the gym but the last few months i forced myself to get over it and now i know that literally nobody is concerned about anything but themselves in there. now i love going
I’m always happy to see someone trying to better themselves. Keep up the good work
Good to see people getting Into the gym 💪🏽 thegumbros got your back 💯
YOU ARE AMAZING!! Girl you are an inspiration. Keep doing what you’re doing. Sending you all the love🫂
Cool! I'm small sized and still don't want to go to the gym out of fear of being watched...you are really brave for facing this social situation. Keep doing what you like, I find it inspiring.
Never be discouraged, we’re all on our own journeys. Kudos for getting in the gym, the only way to go is up!!!
Honestly seeing someone overweight at the gym, let alone FILMING is extremely inspiring and motivating to me and I’d be like damn if she can do it what’s my excuse ? And it is respectful bc it is hard so props to you, and wishing you lots of health and self love on your journey💗
Great job! The hardest part is always walking through that door, but you did it! Keep going!
Doing one thing a week that scares you is so amazing! I think it's so beneficial to do things that scare you to prove to yourself that you can do it and you'll feel very proud. (As long as its not something actually dangerous or life threatening). I'm going to follow now because I want to see what other cool things you decide to do.
You're changing your habits. No one is mad at you for making better choices for your health. A lot of gym folks are happy for you. 😊👍keep going queen! 😁
Every time I see a person getting fit, I feel proud for them. It's never judgment. Keep going!
Yeah!! I love that you felt pushed in a good way. And I guarantee you that every person in there who even noticed you would be cheering you on. Not one single human will be thinking “what is she doing here” but rather “hell yeah, get it!” I hope your video encourages a lot of people to follow your lead. Thanks for being inspiring.
real ones appreciate anyone's positive efforts
Whenever I see someone who is a beginner in the gym I think 'wauw that's amazing so cool that they are starting out'.
I dont go to the gym bc i felt the same way. I have bad social anxieties and my insecurities dont help. But i do know, from my friends who go to gyms, that they would be super proud of you making changes and trying to get in shape. We all start somewhere. You're doing wonderful, don't lose confidence in yourself 💜💜
Proud of you. Its refreshing to see someone trying to change rather than justifying the state of being they are currently in.
This is truly so inspirational. Improving yourself is such a beautiful thing, keep on slaying girl!!
That outfit is brave af
Girl you’re brave as fuck and you’re doing great, don’t let anyone stop you from achieving your goal, whatever it might be ❤❤❤
That is awesome! Proud of you for making that first step in your journey to better health. I bet people there are rooting for you too. The gym is for everybody and all have different goals. ❤
Literally you’re so freaking cool and inspiring 💜
This is so awesome. There have been so many days I've talked myself out of going to the gym because I think it will be packed and I'm afraid of working out in front of so many people. Consciously doing things that scare you takes so much mental resolve and strength. Thank you for sharing!
SLAAAAAAY!!
This short reminds me that when I stop worrying about what other people *might* think, I can simply enjoy and cherish whatever I’m doing in the moment 👊🏽😝
thank you and I hope you get to keep going!!
I was afraid of going to the gym as well until like six years ago (29 now) - Honestly I am very glad I got over the anxiety because I feel so much better having regular workouts.
Moat ppl at the gym understand more than you'd think...a lot of them have been where you are and are rooting for you
I worked at a World Gym (very small one, only had a one person changing room small) while 80 pounds overweight.
I love that you're doing something that scares you to challenge yourself. That's so brave and badass, and I'm rooting for you all the way!
Gym bros don't judge. They're happy you're doing something positive for yourself. You did great.
