  • Have you ever wondered if color analysis and dressing for your season can really make a difference in how you look and feel? In this video, I put it to the test by getting a professional colour analysis from ‪@colouranalysis_studio‬ .
I'll take you through the entire process, from the in-depth consultation to receiving my personalized swatch and color palette. You'll see me try on different shades and witness the transformative power of the right colors firsthand. But how does color analysis actually work? And what are the different seasons or tones they analyze?
The big question is - does it actually lead to a glow up, or is it just a gimmick? I'll share my honest thoughts and review to help you decide if investing in a professional color analysis is worth it. How much does a typical analysis cost? And where can you find clothes that match your specific color palette?
Speaking of makeup, should you also adjust your makeup shades based on the analysis? I'll answer all these commonly asked questions and more!
Whether you're new to the concept of dressing for your season or have been curious about color analysis for a while, this video will give you a firsthand look at the process and results.

I think the colour analysts did a perfect job figuring out what season you are. The autumn colours do suit you the best! And the cream is beautiful on you

You glow in the warm autumn colours! They definitely suit you. What helps me in differentiating between warm and cool tones is to consider how much warm or cool is added to each. For example, with greens, I think about how much yellow or gold (warm) is present relative to blue (cool). The greens you displayed from your wardrobe definitely look like they have more of a yellow or golden component vs. a more blue-toned color, so to my eye they look like warm greens - perfect for you! Also recommend Christine Scaman’s book “Return to Your Natural Colours” and her UA-cam channel. The system she uses is a little different than Alessandra and Giulia’s, but it’s fascinating. Giulia and Alessandra and Christine are the best out there! Enjoy your palette!

That was amazing! I loved your process, how you worked through it and were so transparent but optimistic! The ivory/cream white top really looked good and the orange/red dress. I could definitely see the differences and upgrades. I wonder what some of the colors from the spring palette they suggested were. I know you're going to have so much fun playing with all this! Thank you for posting how the process worked...going to try this soon myself:)

Remember that you can wear other colors but away from your face. If you love a color that isn't in your palette, like black, opt for an open neckline piece. But over time you will see the harmony and smoothness of using your color palette. Team Autumn 🍂

Sweetie, follow the team on the Color Class UA-cam channel. They address the issues of people like you who have aspects of both warm and cool. They also have a couple of episodes on how to wear a color that you love but which is completely out of your palette.
Some color thoughts: 1) Your skin looked FABULOUS when you were wearing the medium pink turban with the jeans colored top. 2) As you start to shop go for the cream color rather than white. 3) The Color Class gals say to wear your best colors close to your face when wearing colors out of your palette (black for you). While you’re on holidays pick up a big square scarf in your favorite color in your flattering palette and have fun trying different ways to wear it, like to tie back your hair.

You are definitely an Autumn. The brown blouse, cream and dress you’re wearing near the end look amazing on you. I think the 2 green items in your closet are good as well. I was in a similar situation as you. I was analyzed as a True Autumn but owned a ton of black clothing and cool colours (~90% of my wardrobe). I have been slowing purging a lot of the unflattering colours and buying in palette. Like you, I’m keeping a few items out of palette because I like them. That being said, now I can really see how much more flattering the Autumn colours are. I had no idea either and have freckles and pinkish areas on my face. A good tip is also to wear gold jewellery near your face, even stud earrings make a difference. Plus, align your accessories, esp purses, belts and shoes with your palette. It makes a huge difference. Enjoy your colour journey!

    This is fascinating!!! 😍
I've been getting into this over the last few weeks.. I'm an artist with an eye for colour, but I have to save up to get the analysis done, and I want to go with them as well - they seem the best I've found.
As far as I can tell from my own comparisons for myself, you are the same palette as me, and I could spot it in your skin colour right away, at a guess at the start. Im brunette but its so helpful to see your blonder looks in the same seasonal palette! Its amazing that even though the look is different, the palette is the same! It really helps me see the season, rather than the surface features, thank you for sharing your results with us!
You definitely look waaaay better in the caramel brown than the black imo.. in another video they talked about any dark colour being a sliming silhouette, if that's part of why youve collected lots of black as neutrals? I have lots as my base colour as well, so now burgundy or warm chocolate or wood tones could be a good replacement for us I think? Im not really a brown person, but I also realised lots of dark browns are cool, so I need to look out for more chocolate colours which might just come into trend every few years. For now I'm sticking with a deep wine burgundy colour.
I'm about to tea dye all my whites, to dull the bright white edge to a warm antique white, maybe you could too.
Another tip from them is to wear gold jewellery with black, or warm makeup, or scarf or jacket, over the black. Because I'm brunette I wear a lot of black too, but it's changed so much just having gold jewellery, I used to prefer silver, but gold with black is an instant glow up!
I think your greens are warm fern greens so that matches your softer mid autumn tones. The bright blue might be working because of the contrast with your blond caramel hair, it's a classic blond/ blue eye style, and it's a warmish blue, and maybe a bit warm springish, which would be your sister season to borrow from so it should be ok to "borrow" a warm blue.
Good for you for taking it on board and having a clear out, I've just done the same. I can't wait til I can get a full analysis too! Thanks for sharing!
It's so fun! I hope the shopping goes well for you, you look amazing in the rust and caramel colours you tried on, maybe you could find a belt or jacket or bag, that could be an easy way to have a regular item to introduce and build looks around even if you don't replace your whole wardrobe right away.
The thing I like about this method that I've noticed too is that you can take your time finding the right pieces. Honestly if I find something great I tend to wear it for a few years anyway, so having this information to help me pick the best colour fits for me, it makes me super happy to take my time, build a wardrobe slowly and it explains all the things I've passed on to friends or op shops because they weren't quite right.
Good luck! You look great in the new colours, and thanks for posting, there isn't that much on line about us warm springs, and it was super helpful to see another person with the same palette but with different hair and eye colours and a fairer skin tone. Bless! ❤

Looking great in your new colours. The green in your wardrobe towards the end that you’re not sure about is definitely warm, not cool. Warm colours will have more yellow in them, cool colours will have more blue. When you’re not sure, hold the colour against a colour you do know the undertone of and that usually helps identify whether it’s warm or cool. Over time, it gets easier and you’ll get even more confident about what works for you. Enjoy the journey!

  • @JuliaKirsty

To me it is pretty obvious that in seasonal color analysis you are indeed warm. The caramel blonde is beautiful for you, while a cool toned blonde would really wash you out and take away from your beautiful face. And yes, black is too much on you, especially if you don't wear any make up (to add brightness and contrast to your softer features), because black is more suitable for people with a high intensity coloring (bright/high chroma) and/or deep value.
I do think cream and brown are great neutrals for you. Depending on the exact type of brown, it can also already feel like wearing a color, because you're not a bright chroma color type. But keep in mind, seasonal color analysis will only give you a general outline to find and learn about colors from a family that has similar traits as your coloring does. It can still be that there are colors from other palettes that work perfectly fine for you and it's possible that some colors from your own palette work against your specific coloring. That's why it is helpful to learn about the color analysis checks and what to look out for. Colors should even out your complexion, should emphasize your features in a positive way, should make imperfections less obvious, stuff like that. If the reflection of a color you wear mixes in weirdly with your skintone, it can create dullness, unevenness, weird shadows, make you look grey or sick or even fight with your eye color (fight for attention basically).
I used to think I'm cool in SCA, was wearing summer colors for the most part. And these colors made me also think, my coloring is very soft. Why? Because these colors did mess with my complexion a lot. There are "cooler" colors that look stunning on me, but definitely not those of the summer palette. I can wear a ton of spring colors and a few autumn colors very easily and effortlessly (meaning, I don't have to put any or a lot of make up on to make them look in harmony with me and my coloring).
I do not use any color analysis system to be THE standard for me. But I use several to understand the different perspectives on colors and color harmony. I learned a lot about my own coloring and the way my individual features create a specific type of harmony within themselves. Learning that, allows you to slightly manipulate the way you can create harmony between colors and yourself. E.g. if you darken your hair slightly, you can wear slightly more contrast, if you lighten your hair AND tan, your contrast will appear lower, hence you'll look better in lower contrast outfits. Stuff like that. It also influences how easy make up applications will be for you. Depending on your individual chroma, value and contrast, you might need to put a lot of effort in to make certain colors work on your skin, while other colors will blend very easily into your skin/complexion. I choose to use colors that create a very quick and simple make up routine with minimal products and minimal effort. But that's a very personal decision to make. I also seem to gravitate more and more towards the obviously warm colors that suit me and prefer the way I look when wearing them. The "warmer cool" colors also look great on me, but create a totally different look and I don't always want that look. The most effortless for me is using specific hues of orange or reddish oranges, creams and browns. Combined with denim they create a very approachable and welcoming look on me, highlight the warmth in my skin and make me look fun and friendly. Another look I like a lot is the warmer, brighter pink, the teals and the warmer purples. But that does make me look more sharp and intense (in a harmonious way, but still not what I prefer to look like all the time, it depends on how I feel, where I go etc.). Overall the closest seasonal color palette to these would be Bright Spring, and I indeed fall into the spring family in SCA. Greens and reds are not really my thing though. You don't have to wear all the colors from your palette, if you don't enjoy them. You can of course try them, but you shouldn't force yourself to wear what you dislike.
You seem to be on the beginning of understanding color harmony. It's a journey, really. You might be confused on your way, but don't feel discouraged to learn more about it.
Btw. I don't think you look really bad in black, it just doesn't bring out your true beauty and you choose what you prefer for yourself. I also still wear black, you're not alone.

I didn’t think any of your old colours were awful but the new colours are stunning on you!!! The white dress is still nice, because it’s a little sheer it doesn’t look as harsh. But the cream makes you light up, you look so golden 😍
I thought I was an autumn but now I think I’m bright spring. This one top really confused me! It’s an autumn pink, but it’s on the bright side for autumn. I don’t usually wear makeup but my lips looked so grey and lifeless in comparison that I had to wear lipstick to wear the top. I thought it must’ve been too bright for me so I wore even softer colours but when I saw photos my whole face was washed out! Then I remembered these BRIGHT warm red pants I used to have, I looked alive and glowing in photos. Obviously my lips are nowhere near that bright but they looked healthy not sad. So I tried draping a few different colours and realised the jumper actually wasn’t bright enough!! The hint of grey in it was reflecting onto my face and draining colour from me. I look sort of like a zombie in the softest colours so I’m remembering that for halloween haha 😂 But all those beautiful colours that would somehow make me look a little tired make you glow!!!

Being in a palette does not necessarily mean all the colors from that palette are gonna look equally good on u. Explore more colors from ur palette to find out which ones are ur absolute best. Cream and beige are prob too light for u even if they are in ur palette so maybe look for colors a bit lower in value. I think mustard, rust, pumpkin and similar colors would look wonderful on u

In regards to black or white: just keep it away from your neck. Dresses and/or tops that show a lot of cleveage/skin are fine, cause even though the color doesnt match your undertone, when light hits your skin and reflects back onto your face it will be reflecting your own colors more than the black/white, so it won't wash you out or make you look sick or anything. That's the best way to wear colors that arent your best ones but that you still want to wear anyway because you love them. 😌

Autumn is soft and darkish and you went highlights? Light in colours does not add sophistication to autumns, that's why you don't like light beige. You'd look amazimg in darker and warmer shades of blonde/brown.
Notice when you wear pink, blue, black and white you skin is sooo yellow, but once you wear clothes with a lot of yellow, you skin is nice and clear, not overly yellow at all.

She's a warm autumn though, not a deep autumn, so mid to soft colours suit her palette better. I think she looked amazing in cream and sand colours, and her hair is definitely a suitable mid caramel blond in my opinion.
You might be referring to the 12 colours chart.. the Italian ladies use the 16 colour chart, so they divide it a little bit differently, that's where the nuance comes from.
