It's weird and hard to explain but its DEF not rap he has a few songs w/ rappers that get major play in the rap community but most his album tracks are not really rap.its almost like EDM/Trap.I been trying to figure out how to place it because we don't mosh and crowd surf at rap concerts that's like heavy metal stuff..could he be considered like pop/rock??

If you want to get really upset, look up the video of the two people who gained access to the stage and were pleading with a camera operator to do something. The lady was yelling at him, “People are dying!” He just kept brushing them away. He could have done something too. Watch it. Also, there weren’t enough security, medical personal and equipment to handle this catastrophe. It sounds like Live Nation was cutting costs by not hiring enough of either security or medical personal. There is also testimonies from survivors that they were pleading for water and there no water. And there were more than 50,000 people there.
The person was on a camera stage not the main stage with Travis. At that point the cameraman doesn’t know what’s going on. Security shld have stopped the concert.

He acknowledged the ambulance, but instead of telling the crowd to make way for it, he just continued… the crowd didn’t budge & the ambulance had to inch it’s way through… delaying help to his victims… It doesn’t seem like he cared.

Yes law enforcement should’ve put a stop to the show however this isn’t the first time he’s had numerous occasions where this has happened without people dying. He had the best view than anyone there. He only cared about himself.

None of these people should've died. Whoever was in charge of this concert should be held responsible. They clearly cared more about selling tickets than setting a limit. The survivors say that there were way more than 8 people that passed away. There were hundreds that were pulled out due to lack of oxygen and suffocation due to the crushing together of the huge crowd.
The young girl who climbed the camera platform trying to get help described several layers of bodies trapped underneath the “sinkhole” type phenomena that occurs when people start to fall over in these crowd crush situations. Her account was extremely graphic and horrifying. It’s hard to imagine more people weren’t seriously injured or killed.
I've read that 300 were injured....and several hospitalized.... I would say that many many people passed out from all of the crushing and pushing from the crowd. People were fighting for their lives...8 were unable to make it. But many have been traumatized and minorly/severely hurt from the concert....even just the mental pain from experiencing something like this....its so terribly sad
I miss REAL Astroworld PARK (1968-2005). NOBODY GOT KILLED during those years at THE REAL THING. This festival TARNISHED a sacred name, symbol to Houston’s positive past.
'300 injured' people look at this number and assume its just small bruises and scratches. A few have been released from hospital with broken legs and ribs. A whole lot more are still in critical condition.

There’s videos showing people climbing up the towers , and let’s be clear TravisScott finished his set while people were dying . He also incited the crowd to F it up . Some people overdosed ,some got scared then fell crushing them beneath the wave.
He's never lost a child before and knows he never will. He's the type of person to not care unless this were to happen to him, which it won't so he'll never get it or care. His family is safe. That's all that matters to him. Give them your money and worship them.

The littlest boy probably won’t make it ,either ,his organs are shut down from lack of oxygen . His Father should’ve never brought his child but he did try to save him when he put him on his shoulders but got knocked out , the little guy is adorable . NY here. Thank you for your incredible, detailed reporting. Very sad for the young people that died. Crowd spotters are a must at these concerts. I can't believe someone brought an infant, and another a dog. I can't even imagine what they went through. I was in time Square , many years ago. I was in the same position. A train station was opened that was supposed to be closed. We came out right into a crowd of people pushing forward. We jumped over fence due to an incredible family that formed a circle so we can get out. My 10 year old son was with me. This is something that affects the rest of your life. I Experienced panic attacks for 5 years. This is devastating to anyone going through this. Since then, NYC put crowds fenced in with no more than 500 I believe. Again, thank you. -Ann Tran NY.
I'm a long-time concertgoer/festivalgoer myself. I will say this crowd felt different, possibly because of the age (most I saw I'd guess were 16-25) or because of concert inexperience. Many of the people we've spoken to shared this was their first concert. I worry a lot of them didn't know the kind of unspoken rule of concert courtesy when you're deep in the crowd.
Oh the Mosh Pit!!! I’ve always been a big fella, so I’d always push my way to the front at TOOL, PRIMUS, or KORN shows back in the day. Yeah, these pits were brutal- especially in the 90’s!!! I’d basically fight my way up by pushing through the tightly packed crowd like a tank to claim my spot right at the front barrier so I could be inches away from the band! I guess being big has its pros but also cons- people would always crowd surf. I was way too big and heavy to crowd surf and the crowd surfers would always surf up to the front to be tipped over the barrier and the security guards would grab them and take them to who knows where crowd surfers end up LOL. Anyway, I’d constantly get kicked in the back of my head by crowd surfers’ massive Doc Marten boots. The music was so loud you couldn’t hear them coming and I was facing the front of course to watch the band. I remember often there would be a surge of people pushing in the back and I’d get so squished up agains the front barrier. However I was okay because I was big. I would look around and wonder how these smaller young teenage girls and guys didn’t suffocate being squished in a giant human sandwich! Witth this said- there was always a way out. If you simply moved to the side or back of the main crowd in the mosh pit area, you would be ok. People back there were more chill and just standing there rocking out but at a further and safer distance from the fray. I remember once at my first TOOL concert it was so loud I put my fingers in my ears and I had pushed all the way to the front. I had enough so motioned to the guy next to me that I was getting outta there. People just let you pass and I enjoyed the show at the back without all the pushing and shoving and crowd surfers bashing my head with their boots. However, it sounds like there were so many people jammed into this ASTROWORLD concert that perhaps these usual ways of escape were not available and people ended up getting crushed to death. Horrifying!!!
He kept checking the crowd’s status by telling them “2 hands in the sky”. Better to tell the crowd to look around them for anyone who may be in trouble and if so, alert the staff by giving the thumbs down sign.
A coworker of mine said he saw TS at Coachella and he was taken by the crowed as well. He said it was like a wave. It just picked him up, the other guys at my work say he’s known as a rager for concerts. Encouraging chaos etc. i only know his name. Not much else about him
My generation ... literally experienced The Who stampede. I think that was a big lesson that has since been lost on this generation but now because of this, you all will know better from here on out for many many years. The youngest victim was a 14 year old student at memorial high. He was detained a day before by a friend i know in campus police. His parents should not have let him go to that concert. A simple grounding could have saved his life.
Be prepared for major changes at festivals due to this event. I personally experienced that suffocating feeling at two different Warped tours in the early 2000's. There were so many people in one area there wasn't enough oxygen for everyone. It scared me because we were outside! I had to crowd surf to safety both times.

I was having difficulty breathing before it started and attempted to get out and had to be "crowd surfed" or however you say that out over the front security gate by the people in front of me because we couldn't move at all, and that was at about 8:20pm. My daughter is 16 and is traumatized just from that, and we got out about 2 minutes before Scott took the stage. It was awful and that was before it got bad. We started out about 100ft from the front gate and ended up about 20ft from the front gates when I demanded we get out. It was awful..... security didn't want us to really go over without permission but we went anyway. I told my daughter that we were not going back the next day before we even knew anything happened. My heart breaks for those who didn't get out.....
He looked like he was deceased by the way his body was rigid already. It was haunting to see that and know that he was already gone. My heart is breaking.
1st, let me say that I'm sending my condolences and love to every family who lost their loved one needlessly at this festival. My heart breaks with you. I'm praying for the injured to have a speedy and complete recovery from their injuries and I pray for the ones traumatized from what they saw. This just hurts my heart so much. These were babies compared to me and I definitely feel that motherly pain in my heart when something happens to a child, yours or not. As a Houstonian, I'm saddened that the name of our beloved summer playground AstroWorld is forever connected to this tragedy. Those who experienced it when it was still here knows that we have great memories with family and friends there. I spent the entire night there after my graduation in 1998 as our district's ProGrad celebration. I remember Holidays in the Park and FrightFest as some of the best times to go! Now...any time you Google the name, this tragedy will appear 1st. And that truly saddens me. I'm just reminiscing and by no means am I trying to be disrespectful. I'm just saying that it's so sad that the two entities are now forever linked.

This is baffling to me, I have been to a few concerts/festivals and as soon as anybody falls or looks a bit dazed everyone around them picks them up and looks after them or gets the person taken to someone who is more qualified

You may not be hearing accurate reports. No one is defending the festival, what would be the motive to lie? Where are all those people's friends & families speaking up? There were people laying on the ground, yes, but many of those people were able to be revived or remained alive although unconscious. We are reporting the deaths confirmed by Houston Police and Houston Fire. They report 8 dead, 300 hurt and 25 hospitalized. There were also 11 instances of cardiac arrest on scene, but the fire chief said some were able to be revived.

All of the people in question are below age 30. They had a whole life ahead of them, I can’t imagine the pain their parents are facing
If you want to get really upset, look up the video of the two people who gained access to the stage and were pleading with a camera operator to do something. The lady was yelling at him, “People are dying!” He just kept brushing them away. He could have done something too. Watch it. Also, there weren’t enough security, medical personal and equipment to handle this catastrophe. It sounds like Live Nation was cutting costs by not hiring enough of either security or medical personal. There is also testimonies from survivors that they were pleading for water and there no water. And there were more than 50,000 people there.
The person was on a camera stage not the main stage with Travis. At that point the cameraman doesn’t know what’s going on. Security shld have stopped the concert.

The survivors say that there were way more than 8 people that passed away.
There were hundreds that were pulled out due to lack of oxygen and suffocation due to the crushing together of the huge crowd.
The young girl who climbed the camera platform trying to get help described several layers of bodies trapped underneath the “sinkhole” type phenomena that occurs when people start to fall over in these crowd crush situations. Her account was extremely graphic and horrifying. It’s hard to imagine more people weren’t seriously injured or killed.

I've read that 300 were injured....and several hospitalized.... I would say that many many people passed out from all of the crushing and pushing from the crowd. People were fighting for their lives...8 were unable to make it. But many have been traumatized and minorly/severely hurt from the concert....even just the mental pain from experiencing something like this....its so terribly sad

NY here. Thank you for your incredible, detailed reporting. Very sad for the young people that died. Crowd spotters are a must at these concerts. I can't believe someone brought an infant, and another a dog. I can't even imagine what they went through. I was in time Square , many years ago. I was in the same position. A train station was opened that was supposed to be closed. We came out right into a crowd of people pushing forward. We jumped over fence due to an incredible family that formed a circle so we can get out. My 10 year old son was with me. This is something that affects the rest of your life. I Experienced panic attacks for 5 years. This is devastating to anyone going through this. Since then, NYC put crowds fenced in with no more than 500 I believe.

I'm a long-time concertgoer/festivalgoer myself. I will say this crowd felt different, possibly because of the age (most I saw I'd guess were 16-25) or because of concert inexperience. Many of the people we've spoken to shared this was their first concert. I worry a lot of them didn't know the kind of unspoken rule of concert courtesy when you're deep in the crowd.

Oh the Mosh Pit!!! I’ve always been a big fella, so I’d always push my way to the front at TOOL, PRIMUS, or KORN shows back in the day. Yeah, these pits were brutal- especially in the 90’s!!! I’d basically fight my way up by pushing through the tightly packed crowd like a tank to claim my spot right at the front barrier so I could be inches away from the band! I guess being big has its pros but also cons- people would always crowd surf. I was way too big and heavy to crowd surf and the crowd surfers would always surf up to the front to be tipped over the barrier and the security guards would grab them and take them to who knows where crowd surfers end up LOL. Anyway, I’d constantly get kicked in the back of my head by crowd surfers’ massive Doc Marten boots. The music was so loud you couldn’t hear them coming and I was facing the front of course to watch the band. I remember often there would be a surge of people pushing in the back and I’d get so squished up agains the front barrier. However I was okay because I was big. I would look around and wonder how these smaller young teenage girls and guys didn’t suffocate being squished in a giant human sandwich! Witth this said- there was always a way out. If you simply moved to the side or back of the main crowd in the mosh pit area, you would be ok. People back there were more chill and just standing there rocking out but at a further and safer distance from the fray. I remember once at my first TOOL concert it was so loud I put my fingers in my ears and I had pushed all the way to the front. I had enough so motioned to the guy next to me that I was getting outta there. People just let you pass and I enjoyed the show at the back without all the pushing and shoving and crowd surfers bashing my head with their boots. However, it sounds like there were so many people jammed into this ASTROWORLD concert that perhaps these usual ways of escape were not available and people ended up getting crushed to death. Horrifying!!!

A coworker of mine said he saw TS at Coachella and he was taken by the crowed as well. He said it was like a wave. It just picked him up, the other guys at my work say he’s known as a rager for concerts. Encouraging chaos etc. i only know his name. Not much else about him

My generation ... literally experienced The Who stampede. I think that was a big lesson that has since been lost on this generation but now because of this, you all will know better from here on out for many many years. The youngest victim was a 14 year old student at memorial high. He was detained a day before by a friend i know in campus police. His parents should not have let him go to that concert. A simple grounding could have saved his life.

Be prepared for major changes at festivals due to this event. I personally experienced that suffocating feeling at two different Warped tours in the early 2000's. There were so many people in one area there wasn't enough oxygen for everyone. It scared me because we were outside! I had to crowd surf to safety both times.

I was having difficulty breathing before it started and attempted to get out and had to be "crowd surfed" or however you say that out over the front security gate by the people in front of me because we couldn't move at all, and that was at about 8:20pm. My daughter is 16 and is traumatized just from that, and we got out about 2 minutes before Scott took the stage. It was awful and that was before it got bad. We started out about 100ft from the front gate and ended up about 20ft from the front gates when I demanded we get out. It was awful..... security didn't want us to really go over without permission but we went anyway. I told my daughter that we were not going back the next day before we even knew anything happened. My heart breaks for those who didn't get out.....

1st, let me say that I'm sending my condolences and love to every family who lost their loved one needlessly at this festival. My heart breaks with you. I'm praying for the injured to have a speedy and complete recovery from their injuries and I pray for the ones traumatized from what they saw.
This just hurts my heart so much. These were babies compared to me and I definitely feel that motherly pain in my heart when something happens to a child, yours or not.
As a Houstonian, I'm saddened that the name of our beloved summer playground AstroWorld is forever connected to this tragedy. Those who experienced it when it was still here knows that we have great memories with family and friends there. I spent the entire night there after my graduation in 1998 as our district's ProGrad celebration. I remember Holidays in the Park and FrightFest as some of the best times to go! Now...any time you Google the name, this tragedy will appear 1st. And that truly saddens me. I'm just reminiscing and by no means am I trying to be disrespectful. I'm just saying that it's so sad that the two entities are now forever linked.

This is baffling to me, I have been to a few concerts/festivals and as soon as anybody falls or looks a bit dazed everyone around them picks them up and looks after them or gets the person taken to someone who is more qualified

Maybe we need wristbands that detect your location and your vitals. And sounds off a horrific buzzard and bright emergency lights to get people’s attention for help.
That would be a great invention, and probably easy to make since there are already smart watches. You could charge $50 for it, and get a refund when you turn it in, or exchange it for merchandise after the concert. Although I don’t think it would have worked in this case, because Travis seemed to want as much chaos as possible.
Or you could stop supporting these "artists" altogether.

You may not be hearing accurate reports. No one is defending the festival, what would be the motive to lie? Where are all those people's friends & families speaking up? There were people laying on the ground, yes, but many of those people were able to be revived or remained alive although unconscious. They may be in severe shape but they have not died yet, do not assume or believe false claims that they have.

We are reporting the deaths confirmed by Houston Police and Houston Fire. They report 8 dead, 300 hurt and 25 hospitalized. There were also 11 instances of cardiac arrest on scene, but the fire chief said some were able to be revived.
