Nuggets is an awesome artillery operator. He's straight to the point and does what he's told perfectly. He's exactly who you want dropping Arty in this situation.
thanks man!
I would like it to be so that the artyman didn't see the assault team on the map. That would definitely make it more interesting.
@@TrollDemN00bs in what world did you come to the conclusion that this is stolen valor? I can see you’re trying desperately hard to be noticed.

I had fun walking 5 miles just to get clapped by the first burst that we heard. Insanely fun on both sides, look forward to more missions like this for sure. Perhaps one day I wont be the first to die in an Op.
Trooper's Dead DEAD lol
yeah, sucks for the 100, but hey it makes for a youtube video
How do I play in these with Drew? These looks so fun
Stolen valor weird champ

Nice profile pic. I wonder where you got it.
as it should be
This is why it's important to give random names to the objectives, that way even if the enemy has your comms they have no idea which one 'burger bar' or 'golf two' is until it's destroyed. Developing a playbook where these names change every set amount of time also keeps the enemy in the dark if they are listening on your comms. That way if you call out smoke near 'bad rock' the enemy will know that spot as 'bad rock' but the next time you call that same spot 'red gatorade' OpFor will assume it's a different location. We once did a breaching exercise and each step was called over the radio as baseball terms that matched the step, 'pitch' was firing the MCLC (Mine Clearing Line Charge, essentially a rocket that leaves a string of C4 behind it to clear obstacles). Awesome video, I'm a sucker for the sneaky spec ops stuff.
Clever
@@harv8541 no, VERY clever
there is another thing: specify secondary and tertiary radio frequencies beforehand to switch to when you start losing people
@@Nishye501 no, VERY VERY clever
Clever girl.
"I think they had other things on their mind... like which bush was going to shoot at them first"
That conversation painted such a vivid picture.
"I've got 2 mine detectors attached to my hip" lol anyone catch that joke?
yeah they're pretty accurate, but they only work once XD
Ah I missed it the first time lol
"hostile grass field, roger" is a good one too
I just got it after 5 good minutes of thinking lol
that was a ballsy comment there :D
The Intro is insanely good, the sound design alone is to die for.
Did he modify it? It sounded like Arma to me but I haven’t played

@Bruce Gender Trans Jenner that is why they lost XD
@Bruce Gender Trans Jenner they were not beating up your ass so it would not have been easy
The MACV-SOG had a 100% casualty rate during the Vietnam War. Meaning that, on average, every single operator was either wounded or killed. Obviously, some were wounded many times over while others didn't suffer a scratch, but it's still an insane statistic none the less.
@FreeBirb "nah bro, i didn't lose, i stopped fighting before the end" basically a rage quit.. america ragequit nam
I killed Fu, saw his legs when the WP lit everything up. Too bad I didn’t see you...

I've always thought it would be cool to do a "Time Travelers War" similar to this where one group is massive but from a time period where weapons are obsolete to modern standards, they have little to no radio coms and lack many luxuries afforded to modern special forces(like night vision, weapon sights etc). The other team would be the time travelers, using modern weapons, sights, radios, equipment.
All to see how a modern Special forces team would stack up to shear numbers.
I've always wanted to play a game like that tbf, just for the sheer meme of a player in full modern gear getting wiped out by a longbow in the heat of it.
We definitely need this.
Dang the VC was on screen at 28:39 but by the time Drew realized it was too late for his squad mates
Yeah, I was like "Wait a minute, is one of the crew wearing a rice hat. Oh well, they gotta be since Drew isn't reacting at all." Doesn't help that he was basically walking in the same direction as the squad, just slipping into the ranks.
Some of his actions cost the lives of his teammates
@@XmarcX92 Yep
@RTCodi Just a game no need for irl exoeriences
You should teach your team coding tables so you can radio orders in a realistic way to avoid the enemy just listening in. The immersion would be sick

That intro looks like something from a $20,000,000 budget movie. HELL. YES.
On behalf of the rest of Savage Game Design, glad you enjoyed what they brought to Arma! Gotten to talk with quite a few of them and it's very badass, lot of work went into it. Thank you for appreciating this DLC, Drewski.
Pleeeease repeat this anytime in the future. The idea was sooo good and all it wouldve needed was coded radiotalk to become one of the greatest arma pvp scenarios ive ever seen
Is there a VC perspective for this? I'd like to watch that too!
Me too!
totally, why there is none??
Nugget is the real MVP! Dropping arty exactly where he needs to no questions asked. 💪🏻
... I would hope that was a minimum requirement. Can you imagine ordering artillery and being questioned about it? lol. Be more like ASKING for artillery, have to bicker back and forth to make your case for each seperate detail of the strike (you suuure you want THOSE rounds, dropped THERE? Drop eight?.. Ima drop two, I'm comfortable with two. Plus a surprise third as a bonus :D) and then hope your man delivers ordinance in a manner that somewhat resembles what you needed lol.
@@DL-yd1fl You would be surprised 🤣🤣
@@DL-yd1fl youd be surprised lol
I might be biased because I’m a big fan of sneaking missions, but that was the most exciting I’ve seen in quite a while. Great job
Yesssss I was looking forward to this, and now you delivered! Awesome
We need another one of these this was so entertaining!!
Would love to have seen the enemy POV on this one-especially after learning they had cracked the Enigma code hah
Vc: Stubs toe on Drew "Looks down, see's Fu"
RIP Fu
LOVE the new Drewski tunes, really fits the cinematics, really appreciate the effort put into those extra bits makes this a thrilling watch
Great work, even for having compromised comms from the start you guys did well!
Good shit Drew. This is one of the most solid videos you’ve made in a long time.
Super fun and amazing Drew. Thanks for hosting!
we need more of these
love it
I personally really like the dark aesthetic. Yeah it's hard to see but when things get lit up it gets real intense
We need more of this. It's so insanely immersive!
great vid mate. cant wait to see more of these missions. thanks
this is so intense omg, well done whoever put this together
Love your content. Keep going
Now imagine permadeath for EVERYONE, the tension on both sides would be insane
Thank you for the great content 🙏
This was awesome! Sounds like a tense and thrilling mission to run
"Arma 3 is the only game that can do this gamemode this well"
"That's not true"
Why is this stupidly yet perfectly timed.
More of this please! ❤️
Bro your intros are getting insane!! Very well done man!! You gotta show the process
Hey Drewski! Great video. I really love the intro part. Thanks!
Really like these night missions. They chill me out after a long day at work. Thanks Drew!
I watched the full video, this was like a movie lol! Best content I've seen in a while
Please do more of these! That was awesome content!
First idea I had watching the beginning is having the chopper fake a deployment to another part of the map, closer to the enemy in a random direction from you. Basically, get them to scout that the place first or believe that you've split up into 2 groups. They could quickly verify second landing zone as empty but it would always play on their minds, having potential threats on a different line.
Loved this video! Would be great if you could post more like these
First time Ive watched a 46 min squad or arma video and not skipped through large portions. Absolutely gripping. More plz
dude drewski this was epic I hope we get more of these for sure
love it man. keep it up
We need more of these!
I love watching you guys play. Th laughing; coupled with the serious coordination is great!!!
I have never played a game in my life, but I love these videos.
Bravo. Would love to see more like this.
Nice vid keep it going!😁👍
this was so entertaining to watch!
This is one of the best I’ve seen!!!… so realistic!!! Love it!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR UPLOAD FOR MONTHS NOW!!
You should establish target reference points along your infil and exfil routes, It’ll be much easier to Call for fire. Having go to hell points pre established might also help to evade. Have pre established alternative frequencies, when you think a radio is compromised, do a net call to “alternate freq 2, 3, etc”. Also think about timing your charge detonations with artillery impacts to mask the sound. Fun to watch, you guys did awesome. I’m overseas deployed rn hopefully I can hop on a game when I get home. Keep creepin’
Much love, K
I have only watched the first minute and its already a masterpiece good job drew!
For anyone who hasn't read John Stryker "Tilt" Meyer's book "Across the Fence," I would highly recommend it. Many of the missions in this DLC are based on real events that John was part of and describes in his book. On one mission across the border, John's hatchet team (about 35 men) inserted next to a regiment-sized (around 1500 men) Vietcong/NVA element and had to hold them off with the help of some fast air for several hours whilst their extraction arrived. Incredible stuff, highly recommended read. The audiobook is on Audible too, narrated by John.
This was awesome too watch drewski!
Love your videos 😍
that was awesome content Drewski.
You are so good at editing.
That heli gunners got an interesting neck.
Best video dude!
Squad mate: They’re shooting the bodies!
Drew: This is exactly what I wanted this mode to be!
Me:….war crime simulator??😂
Amazing video!
Okay this whole vídeo was amazing
I would like to see this same operation played out again, but without the enemies being on the same comms channel. This was such a great video. Finding out the comms was bugged made it seem like the team was cheated. Even then, bugged comms is realistic. Looking forward to seeing more of these nighttime, Vietnam DLC videos! 👍👍
This is so awesome/terrifying. More of this PLEASE.
Drewski never disappoints!
This was amazing. I was trying to think what Vietnam war movie soundtrack would work with this. Could use different bits from different movies. Any way, loved it. Please do more.
Bro this shit was so dope. U need to do another vid like this small man team so dope gotta run this game back
Awesome video more like this please
I love your videos. Could you include screenshots during your after mission conversations with your buddies. For example @42:30 when your guy switched teams and saw the "gravity" of the situation a screenshot of the map would be amazing to see from their side. :)
This is gonna be great
It’s these videos that inspired me to get a pc and start arma 3. It was a little hard at first to get into and I’m still learning but I just gotta thank you. I already have a team of people that I do ops with every other weekend and it’s the most fun that I’ve had in years. Sure I’m still learning all the key binds but I really do got a thank you you man.
Y'all don't even know the amount of work put into this. It's soo god damn cinematic. Another amazing video!
Me, at just shy of seven minutes: wait, they're trying to spot across this river into the jungle at night and nobody thought to bring a starlight scope?
Me, literally five seconds later: Oh. Good man.
We need more Arma, thank you for this
MORE OF THIS HOLY COW THIS IS COOL
it's crazy how gorgeous this game looks in this vid
Tge fact that this gamemode exists is super cool. What's crazy is that the sog missions had over a 100% casualty rate, everyone who went through these missions was injured more then once if not killed. They're only advantage over the NVA was American Air power. Almost all of their missions received contact. And because these missions where top secret, for YEARS their families had no idea how they died. They didn't have night vision capabilitys so they depended heavily on sound and smell to alert them of NVA in the extremely dark jungle. Walking on established trails was a death wish so, just imagine stumbling blind over rocks and logs finding your way with nothing more then a map in tge dark. These men where brave as hell.
Would totally love another video of a match in this style.
OMG the base from my headphone during the close Arty was something else
that was epic! looked like a movie but then better haha was really enjoying it got my hands really tingling to play vietnam too
that was awesome, I'd watch another
We need more of this
Ok, i want more of this
You imagine running through there at night knowing not only that you can get shot but stepping on a cobra or some of the really messed up boobytraps that built. Great video
Idk if they're in Vietnam, but in south/central america there's gnarly ass jungle hornets that make their nests about 4-6 feet off the ground. Right at fucking face level.
Lets go!!
Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I'd love to have a good squad for this
loved the debrief at the end there.
Let’s go Man U got this
This was a really good watch, too bad they were on your comms the whole round :/ Could you do another one plz? Need the satisfaction of you actually winning lol
they messed up the radio or was that stream snipers ?
@@wenegu the enemy team somehow found their radio frequency. I don't think it was streamed at all so it's impossible they streamed sniped, they got them by the book, using in game mechanics
@@nathanaeldobias6660 kinda cheaty tbh. if i had found that out, id have just artied their objectives as a f you.
@@frigglebiscuit7484 Not really cheaty when opfor in multiple wars did just that. Thats just war. I agree about bombing the objectives out of spite though give em the ol Shake and Bake! (3-6 rounds HE followed by the same in WP)
Its actually realalistic that the enemy team could hear their comms...the NVA listened in on SOG teams all the time so they wouldnt talk much on the radio (just clicks to let the good guys know they were ok or real short convos so they couldn't use triangulation to figure out their location) unless shit hit the fan..which happened a lot...and often
This is so crazy. I'd love to see more of this game mode, maybe without the comm mishap haha
Play more of this!!! Seems as close to being there as we 'll ever get.
Awesome!!!
