The fucking fact that you have THE DON HAASE is amazing. The man has flown over 300 real life combat missions in under 2 of the 3 years he was enlisted. (December 1967-June 1969). The amount of respect that man has earned is impossible to describe with words. An old family friend that that we all simply knew as "snake chaser" had served in a SOG team and relied on him during the war. (He gave us his actual name but I've forgotten it over the years since my early childhood, some of the shit I've heard him describe would have broken anyone with morals or any humanity and i actually ended up with nightmares from more than one of his stories.)
Seriously, this video would be amazing if it was just Don recounting his missions. The fact that he's playing a simulator of the missions he ran decades ago is just extra icing.
i actually got to talk to the guy during a door gunner training i was doing with the group i play with (we were going into an aircav campaign) and it was pretty awesome. he taught how he would help guide the pilots into tight LZs and the like. probably the coolest thing ive done in arma!

What better way for the future kids and adults to hear about these men and women from all eras. I mean videos like these or watching flight sims with the real deal, actual combat pilots! In a time full of hate and turmoil, it's so great to listen in on the gaming community and see the comradery, kindness, and respect that the rest of the world needs. Just maybe, us gamers will unite the planet. :) And for Don, it's hard to put into words the respect I personally have for him.
Yep, us Aussies used twin, double-M60s as door guns on our Huey gunships. A bit more practical than the spade-grip M60s' of standard US Hueys.....if crashed, if still usable, one could try to take the guns to potentially use them as support weapons....up to 4 M-60s would've been some hard-hitting defence against the swarms of VC/NVA which could have potentially surrounded a crashed chopper...... To quote a quote I've used in a Grim Reapers video...."Superior to anything the enemy could field in the Machine Gun department, the M-60 spat out slugs at a rate of 6 or 7 per second. Chewing up dirt, Splintering trees & shredding flesh......"

From the SOG devs - thank YOU
It's a good day when Drewski uploads, but it's a great day when the video is with Don.
In a time full of hate and turmoil, it's so great to listen in on the gaming community and see the comradery, kindness, and respect that the rest of the world needs. Just maybe, us gamers will unite the planet. :) And for Don, it's hard to put into words the respect I personally have for him.
That's amazing...love Don and thank you for your service to this country.
been waiting drewsker. perfect bedtime vid thank you
Wahhhhh don was in my hometown dam would loved to have a beer with him and listen to his stories 😭

Great one Drew! These campaigns with Don need to be regular content.
Changing graphics settings while flying is something only Arma 3 heli pilots can appreciate
from canada thank you for your service respect to all vets
such a nice humble video, its so nice
I swear, Don's dry quips are hilarious.
We have them in the dlc with 9th squadron livery
@@b-52eggbeast88 Excellent mate 👍😉✔️✅️
Man these videos with Don are amazing. What an absolute legend he is. Been binging these Vietnam missions.
Dude! Do an interview with Don! Go play a game with just him sometime! I'd love to hear what he has to say and I'd love to hear what you have to say about questions he asks you!
Yeah I'd say having an actual vet makes this pretty legit holy shit lol.
Keep up the awesome work Drewski, and keep kicking ass!
Waiting for my flight and enjoying this video. Love Don's humor and good flying as always Drewski
God bless don dude he's so humble
guys great content as always and drew thank you for making videos like this for the vets and us viewers. I cant wait for more content like this!!
Glad that you take interest enough to ask the vets about their experiences. Those guys weren't treated the best when they returned. Don sounds like he's a HAM operator.
These guys are all really cool. Very good video
