Talk about the ultimate immersive experience of having an actual Vietnam Vet as your co-pilot.
What an honor to hear stories of this man. It is incredible, that he WAS THERE. Soon, will have only these recorded stories to remember, how great men these soldiers were. Great stuff, Drew.
Great questions and awesome answers. Honestly one of the best “interviews” of a veteran I’ve ever seen. Just a fantastic format for content would be great to get more vets who are willing to share their experiences.
Check out savage game design on youtube for over 20 great sog interviews and a playlist of jocko and tilts 35 interviews
I don’t usually watch arma but hearing his stories made it way better. What a cool guy.
This truly is one of the absolute best missions, don thank you so much for your service hope to hear more stories in the very near future!
These kinds of interactions with our veterans are so important! Thank you Drewski for bringing Don's story to light and sharing his experience with everyone here on UA-cam. I hope that lots of people get to watch this and I hope that more veterans like Don will share their stories too. Keep doing what you do Operator!
Imagine how much Don must love this. This is the treatment he, and all Vietnam vets deserved after their homecoming.
A group of young men (and i'm sure women) who just want to learn and listen to his stories
That ending was fucking awesome and so is the vet! Thank you for serving!
Get as many of these videos with veterans as you can. They are the best.
Got to say a think this might be your best video yet Don s story's made it. and the gameplay. Does Don have a channel on youtube by any chance.
GhostRider Don Here; yes I do have one under Hughes CrewChief. And Thank you.
@@hughescrewchief836 i need subscripts Immediately him. I mean, its hard to find such guy's especially guy's like don in our cloture. In austria 🇦🇹 for example you hear nothing at all. I think in the hole Europe it's totally different. Maybe in the Great Britain but they are not in Europe anymore
Drew this is fantastic! I've been listening to the SOGcast here recently and hearing the story's these unknown heroes and the secret war they fought is amazing! Having an actual crew chief flying with you is awesome!!
Stryker has some good stories! Check out the Jocko podcasts he lists in 001 he's been on a few tines
Ghostrider Don Here; If you like Tilt's SOGCasts I am #7 or listen to more SOG vet interviews on Savage Game Designs website.
@@hughescrewchief836 Thanks Ghost rider I will check it out, enjoyed your stories on this and look forward to hearing you on Tilt's!
i think it’s so cool and interesting to talk to veterans no matter of the war because there’s no really bad guys just people fighting for their countries and vietnam veterans deserve a lot more respect
Listening to these stories, is just astonishing. There always insane to listen to, and especially hearing from a vet. Is an honor.
Very intriguing, this is why I love military history. You get cool stories like this
This video is really great having an actual Vietnam vet with you and hearing his stories 👌🏻 thanks
He probably really appreciated someone showing interest and asking questions about the history of the conflict.

Very nice effects there with the illumination flare that went into the water.
That end was amazing
i find this video extremely sentimental i have a few videos i can watch again and again this is definitely one of them. Thank you Drewski and Don!
Thanks so much Drewski for making this - so glad y'all got to hang out and bring Don's stories to so many people! He's a treasure.
I love Digbys art of clear concise distribution of information.
I just started playing 2 days ago. I binged a lot of the training in game. Played multiplayer once and was so amazed how absorbed in a game you can get! The controls are tough to learn but sim wise this is just, wow!
It's really fun to have these veterans play with you especially they experienced the game you're playing they make the game more interesting and exciting. i know because i experienced it myself!
Very cool episode man! Those guys didn’t get the credit they deserved when they came back. Have him back on!
Peak OperatorDrewski: Expertly handling a scout chopper while intelligently interviewing a VIP -during a battle.
Dude it is soo unbelievably cool that you get to play this game with those people and are able to share it with us!!! Awsome vids as always!!!
11:10 Ahhh the Birmingham tones of one LongLiveQuebec
That's soooo cool drewski!!!! And thanks to don for sharing what our fathers and our grandfather's ( in some cases) experienced. My dad was in danang from 67 to 69 ( I believe) servicing aircraft of all types for the 365th. I have so much respect for all those who served in Vietnam. And God bless you drewski this video I will watch more them once.
So cool to see you running with these legends, really enjoy the gameplay and hearing their stories.
So freaking awesome. I'm addicted to the podcasts with MACV-SOG guys on Jocko and Tilt's Sogcast. Unbelievable
So much fun being in a op with you drewski! :)
The engineer team was such a cluster because we were told 2 minutes before going in the chopper that hey, youre mortar team, on the flight in were told youre building the fob. many of us never used the build mechanics in SOGPF, we had to learn everything on the fly, didnt know we needed shovels etc but it was still fun!....i was loaded fully to assault etc, not build stuff XD so there was alot of...clustery on us haha
You all did great
Love the ol' flightline stories! Rah.
Seriously Drew, if you could get Don on more videos, that would be amazing, I'm so very honored to have gotten to hear him speak on his experiences. Thank you and Don for this wonderful video
awesome! you gotta play with him or more vets more often! theyre a dying breed and their stories will be silent soon if they dont share them more... god bless our troops!
Ghostrider Don Here: We will and thanks for watching.
@@hughescrewchief836 thank YOU! for your service my good sir! I look forward to seeing more and possibly joining in on some arma 3 action. when do you guys have newbie training days in the server?
My gramps flew in the 118th Assualt Helicopter Company in 1967. My mom was just 3 when he was KIA.
My grandpa was a marine in Vietnam. He told me they drew straws to see stays behind because there wasn't enough room on the evac chopper. He drew the sort straw. He barely made it out alive. He spent the night in enemy territory hiding in a ditch. They came back to get him thinking he was dead but were surprised when he stood up and got on the chopper.
Thats insane! Thanks for sharing
Greatest video to date, thanks Drew.
This is awesome. This man has to be up there in age and still enjoys a good arma 3 experience. I love it 😀
And I big thank you for everything you have done for me and everyone else thank you for your service Don 🇺🇸💪
This was an awesome Op. We were really glad to have you and Don overhead keeping the VC at bay!
That was an amazing vid! Love all of your Prairie Fire content, and super jealous of your time hanging with Don!
We appreciate the celebration with our nations veterans! Tell Don 'Thank You!!!' from all of us watching.
just wow.. this was SO entertaining. love your vids, keep it up :)
I have a good friend who served in the First Force Recon in Nam.
Talks just the same way.
I got chills watching this. Drew, you always end up with the most excellent in game vids.
Such a good video. Made me think about the past and the story people have from the wars. Cool to see vets play modern shooters and enjoy them. Keep up the good work!!!!
my grandpa was in Vietnam and he passed a couple years ago so hearing this makes me think he lived a life like this back then
You can bet he did
We played Mike Force on steroids last night with the same team. When I crawled into my rack at 3am after a 7 hour mother of all battles Don had 500 kills from his doorgun. The dude’s still got it!
Dude, that was so fuckin' cool. Especially hearing stories from Don made it even more cool! Good shit fellas!
Thank you for asking so much love for you bruh it's 🤯 I'm grateful for you
31:58 I took a lot away from this video and the stories told..amazing..
but that part guy after 31:58 spinning like that cracked me tf up lol
Welcome to arma
That was the best episode I've watched so far! Keep up the amazing work!
My dad was SOG. Really love these experiences you share with us Drew.
Does he know about SOAR? The guys get together once a year in Vegas.
