You can tell which country each one is from just by listening to the voice, this is the first time I've played something where the tone and speed of the voices are also part of the game. amazing game, even after years, This is one of the few current games that occupies the imagination more than technological advances (it has very few requirements and delivers a pretty good story).
This game puts so much detail into each character, even the seemingly insignificant seamen and topmen, that after my second play through I could remember all of them by name just from the sketches. Lucas Pope could have just had you solve for seaman Dave, Mike and Andy, and have them just be insignificant, but no, every single one has something memorable about them. Bravo.
@@GI-Gane I might have been stupid 3 years ago (still am) but I vividly remember how the game lasted one more hour because I had to track down who Charles is and where he died.
@@m00tes have you played Outer Wilds? If you haven't definitely check it out (also as blind as possible). For that game your statement is even more true
angeldeb82 - Because YOU escaped the Obra Dinn as well. That storm at the end of the game before you left would’ve sunken it (as shown in the final paperwork a week after you leave the ship), no doubt caused by the final mermaid overlooking you in the ocean.

The tracks in this game are pleasure for the ears, I felt a sadness for the characters that most games struggle to do in theirs. A must play for all lovers of good games and splendid stories.
So am i the only one who was curious about the book going on the bookshelf....next to another book that looks eerily similar? it's the same material binding, just a little shorter and thicker. It's been one year since the obra dinn. DId the insurance inspector have another adventure in that time? Cause I WANT TO FUCKING SEE IT
I finished the game today. I wanna know how Nichols got to know about the shells that Formosa Royalty was carrying and how did he manage to find more shells near Canary Islands? Wouldn't those shells be indigenous to Formosa
@@solaire_of_the_east Sorry for late reply. Those shells came from the mermaids originally. The Formosans got one somehow, but when Nichols went out on the ocean, several mermaids showed up with their own shells. If you look closely at them, you'll see the same shine.
I know a big part of the game is the art design, but I really want to see this game in full colour. Not vibrant colours or anything, but rather darker and more dreary colours that would add to the game. Aside from the colours, I think it would be really cool if someone remade the exact game but with colour HD models and textures like the latest Resident Evil. That would be awesome. P.S. Does anyone have or know the sheet music for this track? I want to try making it with a full orchestra...
It does, because YOU also escape The Obra Dinn, the storm came after you finished the detective job destroyed the whole ship, as the final paper said" Whole cargo lost"
"Damn you, Nichols!"
-A friend of mine after beating the game
All my homies hate Nichols.
the voice acting in this was absolutely marvelous
It happened in so little space and time and yet it was indeed splendid.

Maba is actually Charles who doesn't exist.

I could legitimately listen to this one piece on repeat for hours.
I see what you did there
What an amazing game. I finished it a week ago and I still can’t stop thinking about it. Thanks for an incredible experience, Lucas Pope.
It sucks you can only play this game once. Then the other times it’s not as impactful
Yeah i wish we had more games like this, it almost feels like a movie or art, cant describe.
