The Xmas School Disco 1972. Bowie, T-Rex, Alice Cooper, Slade, Mott, and Elton John are making all the very young dudes and girls jump around
with youthful joy. This track by The Move has would-be young rockers bop around the dance floor. Looking back, it is a brilliant take on Jerry Lee
Lewis but we are far too young to realize this.
Many of my old school friends are sadly no longer here, but I hope they are dancing to this great song wherever they are now.

Brilliant, I remember this well, it got me into Rock 'n' Roll. Roy Wood went on to form Wizzard, and did solo work, much of got into the charts. His work was a nod to the early 1970s Rock 'n' Roll revival, whilst still being original, and not just derivitave. I remember Little Richard, in a radio interview, describing Roy Wood as "The Prince of Rock and Roll". Well deserved.

I seem to think there is a verse missing from this performance, because I remember another drum fill as well as 1.17, that was even cleverer.

Only a couple of ELO w/Roy Wood songs worth listening to. Most of the first album is tosh. From Eldorado onwards ELO were golden. Not sure any songs from Roy's WIzzard Brew (as much as I like it) could be compared to the amazing Eldorado........

Brilliant record, lyrics and video, BUT I find it amazing how they can actually PLAY the instruments and sing when performing like that.
AND YES I do know they are only acting, but it's still great.

This was the moment when I stopped going to Brownies and stayed home to watch TOTP. Thanks for giving me lifelong love of the sax, Roy. CE

What a video! They are having a hell of a time and it's catching. Ah those times when Roy Wood only had bum fluff.

I discovered The Move in 72 when I was in London watching a show on the Beeb. It was a revelation.
