Of all the episodes I've seen I get the feeling that Gordon felt the most passion, love and care for this bunch. I've never seen him put so much work into a restaurant on this show. Tragic that Joe went through what he did.
Genuinely not going to finish this episode after reading the comments about Joe. Much love to all his family and friends, not that it's of any consolation.
Gordon is definitely the type of guy who loves his art with a passion and I think his passion for this lot comes from the chefs being young, he wanted to see them succeed and do something new for the art. And also the fact that Joe was respectful and thought highly of Gordon from the start and didn't treat him like a hurricane which came to destroy his vision for the restaurant. I feel so sad that Joe had to take that step specially when he was so happy and hopeful by the end. I wish the best for his family.
I saw people saying he ended his life because of an affair with one of the employees that ruined his marriage. Not saying he deserved to die because of this but honestly an extremely selfish decision, to not only cheat on your loving wife, but also essentially cheat on your kids and betray and then on top of that killing yourself and leaving your kids and the mother of your children alone.

People like that woman who complained about the food do this all the time, they go into a resturaunt, eat the whole meal then demand a refund to eat free. tbh i feel for Katie who got sent home. I know the industry and how they play favourites with their buddies. The one who takes her job seriously doesn't have time to be best friends with everyone else, so she gets shorted, because she's not as popular. That's all too real imo, it's not fair and shows real lack of leadership from the owner. It should have been one of the others who was goofing off earlier.

Depression doesn't discriminate. So many people, especially men, feel the need to put on a "brave" face to the world when they're crumbling inside. Too many men have been told from a young age to repress their emotions and not to cry. So very sad to hear that Jo took his own life. To those saying its a "selfish" or "weak" act; count yourselves lucky that you've never felt there is no way out and that you feel there is no other option. Suicide is tragic for all involved. Nobody wants to die, but depression can get so bad that living feels impossible. It's so easy to judge when you arent in someone's head, knowing what they're going through. I hope Jo's family is managing through it together and are finding some way towards recovering ❤
