I have had one for 10 years....lx v6 model. Sometimes I think I should get a new car but then I sit in it with its squishy comfy seats and great visibility and realize that it has everything I need and never breaks down. This review is spot on: the interior build quality is amazing. It is simple, but incredibly well put together with a complete lack of rattles and squeaks. I have an 8th gen v6 manual coupe (occasional driver/autocross) whose interior quality and seats pale in comparison.
Man I’m a teenager in high school and i was planning on getting a Dodge Charger. But after watching this video for sure I’ll get a 2008 Camry or Accord.
Bruh you can go even older. 90s Camry/ Accord has a lot going for them with cheap maintenance and aftermarket to spare. A simple and clean ‘92 Accord Coupe’ll turn heads forsure.
I got a 1998 Honda Accord EX V6 in 2003 with 65,000 km on it. I had transmission rebuilt in 2016 and I think it could have been avoided by doing 3 drain and fills in a row. Starting to thud going into reverse when cold. Time for 1-2 drain and fills. Last year replaced idle air control valve, had EGR passage ways decarbonized, replaced plugs but should have gone with NGK Laser Iridium plugs. Have 325,000 km now and running smoothly once warmed up. Best car I ever had. If you have transmission problems get the solonoids cleaned and a drain and fill with Honda fluid. Very good video.
can you tell me a bit about how reliable it was ? and if it had any problems ?. one more thing, how was the car on the highway? was there a lot of road noise and tyre noise? does it rev high in 5th gear when cruising on the highway? how was your experience with it travelling for long distances ?
@Michael Deeb I know you're comment is a year old but I wouldn't have given you a good answer anyways. My car had tons of problems but it's not the cars fault. It was entirely my own fault. I got into a head on collision, the car saved my life but it didn't operate the same as it did. Everyone was surprised that the shop managed to fix it for pretty cheap tbh. The Honda accord straight up saved my life at the expense if it's own so I can't really answer your question correctly.
@1776 Savage I ended up selling my si since my comment because it gained so much value during covid. I have a honda pilot now which I absolutely love. Feels super luxurious
My grandparents had a 1998 Accord V6. It was green and it was reliable the entire time they owned it. Then they bought a 2004 Accord and sold the 98 to my aunt. A few years later the transmission was starting to slip and combined with the Ohio hail cracking the sunroof, it was time for that car to go. While my grandparents owned the 98, My parents went to the Honda dealer down the road in Cleveland and bought a 2002 Odyssey new that we still have today. My dad also drove a 94 Civic that he drove for 17 years until the Ohio rust ate the brake line. That kind of sold me on Hondas and today I'm a proud owner of a 2000 Honda Civic EX sedan
Got one from my grandpa in 2019 with 88,000 miles, no major issues, just a little rattling when braking and the notorious clear coat fail so the paint is a little chipped, love the vehicle though. Good review by the way.
I definitely want an accord as my first car. I remember when my dad had his 1992 Honda Accord EX. I always loved Honda’s and seeing this video just makes me want a Honda for my first car
Engine code for the 98-02 v6 is actually J30A1. The A4 came in the seventh gen v6. Basically the same engine but I think they made it less restrictive in the A4
Had a year 2000 4 cyl accord coupe throughout high school and first half of college. It was such a cool car and so fking good on gas. Switched to an 02 v6 accord later in college
The interior quality of these cars is good in a late-90s sorta way...the automatic transmission holds back alot of power turning what should be huge bursts (especially w/intake& exhaust) into mellower pulls
IF YOU OWN A 2000 ACCORD KEEP IN MIND THAT YES IT IS SUPER RELIABLE BUT A 20 YEAR OLD CAR AND THE POWER LOCKS AND POWER WINDOWS WILL FAIL , LEAKS WILL COME AND IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT GOING YOU MUST REPAIR ALL ISSUES AS THEY COME.
Richard Canas I have the 2000 accord and it’s super reliable, it will easily keep running another 20 years , but I change the oil all the time. I litteraly fixed every seal in the motor and all other ones you can think of, I have replace 1 power windows motor, I replaced and put all new power door locks, I put a new ac cluster controls switch, I have put new windshield wiper motor, I have put all new 4 shocks. And it runs amazing, but most people don’t really do all repairs and that’s why the car starts giving up
Just got a 2 98 v6 accords, a sedan for free and a coupe for $200 , looking to build a cheap track car out of the coupe, going to take a hit 7th gen manual v6 Accord and swap the trans and heads intake and cams into the 6th gen, been a classic muscle guy with alotta gods friends but I got bit by the cheap Honda bug.
Lol I had a 2015 accord v4 Transmission went out at 115 My 1998 accord 136k running 2000 special edition accord 135k running still Hahaha Rav4 06 running still 196k
I have the 98 ex 4 banger. Prefer the 4 banger. Those transmissions for the v6 as well as some 4 bangers just couldn’t handle the power of their engines.

I'm a high school student and I have a 98 Honda Accord LX 2.3l good runner with 140000 miles.
I have an 02 V6 and absolutely love it. Gen 4, 6 & 9 are my favorite designs. Grew up on Honda. My first new car was a 97 Civic EX.
Thanks for sharing!
Hey mate 01 Honda accord 4door sedan 90k miles 3l v6 are they good cars
Had one in highschool and early college, was great until it hit about 270,000 miles. But can't complain that's a good run.
My friend bought one with only 40k miles for $1,000. And it was in perfect condition. I was super jealous. I’d tell him all the time.
Man I’m a teenager in high school and i was planning on getting a Dodge Charger. But after watching this video for sure I’ll get a 2008 Camry or Accord.
Can’t go wrong with a nice Charger tho, but the Accord and Camry are dead reliable
Bern on Cars I live in the pg area. I’ve seen many guys drive Hondas than Dodges so I just might consider the japanese cars.
Yea a Japanese car won’t let you down

@riser not funny but ok

This was literally my college car 5 years ago except it was a 4 cylinder/ manual. I loved every second of it. I have a '12 civic si coupe now

I have a 2000 4cyl manual and a 2020 si manual and love both for what they are.

I still drive my 1998 Honda Accord from high school

Ahh that’s right
Great stuff. Also, the Accord looks great Karna!
Thanks Tyson!! :)
Had a year 2000 4 cyl accord coupe throughout high school and first half of college. It was such a cool car and so fking good on gas. Switched to an 02 v6 accord later in college
i miss my 2000 v6 accord coupe. now I'm driving an 07 ody but i love it. i like the hondaprojason writing on the glove box
I once had a '90 Accord EX and despite its harmonic balancer issue, it was my most favorite car. It even had a working sunroof! 😀
I love those generation Accord’s!
Most beautiful accord ever, best size, best dashboard layout, best driving impressions. A bit noisy.
My favorite alsoni is the 7th gen Accord
The interior quality of these cars is good in a late-90s sorta way...the automatic transmission holds back alot of power turning what should be huge bursts (especially w/intake& exhaust) into mellower pulls
Very true!
Have a 2000 Se Model. 52k miles as of today. Great car all around. Throughly enjoyed your video bro!
Thank you for watching!

That’s a steal!

Sweet!
The CB7 was the pinnacle of total package. design, economy, price, size.
it got worse from there on.
Llve my 2002... but its a 4 cyl. a bit more reliable but all Hondas in that generation are great
Nice! Yeah exactly right!

What was the song you used in the montage at the beginning?

Just bought a mint 02' with 106k miles, can't wait to get it :-) edit** can't wait to fix it. Trans shot at 110k miles :-(
Tough break man. Was it an auto or manual, I’d imagine it was the automatic

I just bought a 2000 accord with 72k miles. I'm gonna work this bitch till it breaks
My son had one! LOL

I got a 2000 Ex Accord with 65000 km on It, at.mint condition. Planning to run down this motor until its done.
Only if they made them in a stick shift
Right!
Just swap a j32a2 6 speed over. Acura TL strut bar from this generation. And some coilovers. And it’s a blast to drive.
I thought it was a j30a1
