What other editing technique or effect would you like to learn from this channel?
Export settings
Editing with FCP...pi.
I loved seeing real time editing that was very helpful
iMovie cause I’m a poor boy and can’t afford anything else to edit on 😂😂😂 (that and iOS Adobe Premire)
How to add an electric outline or fire around a player.
Thanks for letting me come on and go through this edit! I know it's a long one but hopefully you all find it helpful 😊
Thanks for doing this in this fashion. It was incredibly helpful to see you editing in real time.
@@Kylesweeting you’re welcome! I’m glad you liked it. I’ll probably do more of these in the future both on my channel and here on BTG (if E wants me back on ofc 😬)
For sure, thanks for sharing. You seem to have quite a bit of depth of field, at which aperture was these clips shot with? And the focus seemed to hold pretty well between zooming. Was that because of a small aperture or did you use a par focal lens? Thanks!
@@1stDownPhoto all shot wide open at f4 with Sony A7iii and Sony 70-200mm f4 using autofocus
I will gladly pay for a course to a step by step tutorial for Final Cut Pro if possible
Information so valuable that I feel guilty for watching this free of charge! Thank you Peter and thank you E!
I found your channel not long time ago and I'm obsessed. Thank you I have learned a lot!
Thank you for this great feedback! 🙏🏽
love your stuff man. I film multiple different types of sports and highlight reels for them. I mainly focus on Motocross but id love to widen my skills for other sports as well and all your videos help me with that. you should have way more subs than you do! Keep up the good work man
Thank you so much, that's very nice of you to say.
Thank you for this video this was very helpfuk to take me pass the level i was stuck on plus where do you get your overlays
There’s a lot of free ones available online if you Google words like “light leaks overlays” and “damaged film overlays”
That speed ramp tip at 24:30!!! I needed that. It's really the worst.
Tell me about it! It’s so annoying.
very helpful thanks a lot
Hey. I’m getting into videography and I need help with the filming. What is the best way to film or could you do day of a life of a basketball videographer? Or classes on zoom or something like that
I made this video that might be helpful ua-cam.com/video/uUaKb1jEpsg/v-deo.html
Great vid From peter!
What Fps are shooting, I find when I shoot at 60 and try to play it back at regular speed in 24 timeline the frame loss looks so crappy compared to regular 24fps footy.. When I play 6 fps on a 30 timeline it looks clean, just not cinamatic!
What am I missing..!?
What speed are you playing your 60fps footage at in the 24fps sequence?
@@BeyondTheGame_E technically (59.9 and 23.9 im working with) Ive tried dropping it in the 23.9 time line vs changing the clip attributes to 23.9 and then speeding it up 250% with optical flow
@@BeyondTheGame_E Its looking sharper in a 29.9 timeline but loses the cinematic look
I think you’re doing the right things. Although maybe frame sampling could look better than optical flow in your case. Personally I always edit in 25fps so I’ve never experienced this.
Also I would suggest duplicating your clips. Have one version untouched and one version modified to 23.9fps. That might be better than playing it in fast forward.
What I don’t understand is the direction of the whip, do we need to always whip same direction all the time for our next clips to follow the same flow? Because like it showed if I whip left to right and my next clip with speed ramp is right to left doesn’t that break the flow ?
Yes and no... Ideally, both whips go in the same direction which makes the transition very seamless. But if it's not the case, the transition can still look very cool. Especially since both clips will most likely have different perspectives. So, a change of direction won't look as weird as you may think.
7:59 When you do time remapping, how do you get the audio to line up with the alternate speed of the video? Because the slomo ball in the air made the audio cut off really bad.
The audio at normal speed will always be shorter than the slow motion video so personally I just line up the audio of the basketball going through the hoop with the moment it happens in the video.
@@BeyondTheGame_E but then there’s a gap at the beginning. What I’m saying is how do you fill the gap? Just make the audio ease in?
@@drakehanson7373 Yes that's one way to do it. Also, most of the time the start of your action in is not necessarily the start of the original clip itself. Which means that you can trim your audio back and have a few extra seconds to play with. Or you can also trim the audio of the previous clip forward. If it's just atmosphere sounds, it doesn't really matter.
@@BeyondTheGame_E okay thank you so much. Your channel is awesome!
W video
At 14:34 when I tried the tracker my tracker it wasn’t tracking on my basketball. It would track some of it then stop in the air. Could you maybe tell me what I’m doing wrong?
You can make the tracker and the area it’s tracking bigger. But ultimately that happens a lot anyway. You always need to adjust manually at some point.
man how to i make hype reels if i only have like televised full matches [no footage of my own ]
It’s a good way to practice. Just download footage from UA-cam and let your creativity take over. But you’ll have to go through a lot of games to find all the shots that you want. That’s the price to pay for not filming your own content.
Million dollars question, as a beginner on a budget, could you advise me on a good editing laptop? 2k$ or so. TIA 🙏🏼
I’ve been using Apple products for the last 15 years so I don’t know anything outside of that. My personal choice would be a MacBook Pro.
@@BeyondTheGame_E thank you for your advice. Keep up the good work 🙌
@@cesarbarrios8140 If you join our Sports Videography Community (Facebook group), I'm sure there are plenty of people there that could recommend a good PC laptop if that's what you're after.
Lil bro how to get nba clips in high quality?
It's all in this video right here: ua-cam.com/video/wCrjsu_Nmd4/v-deo.html
?what computer and editing software he using
No idea about his computer but the editing software is Premiere Pro.
What is name of the editing program
Premiere Pro
Where do u get ur overlays from bro
Bunch of them are available for free. Just Google ‘free film overlays’ or ‘free film damage’ or something along those lines.
@@BeyondTheGame_E ah ic, preciate it!
Can your sound effects pack work on filmora?
Yes. It’s just MP3 and WAV files. It works with any platform the same way you would import a music track.
@@BeyondTheGame_E is this the same for your LUT package does it work in filmora? I purchased the package to use in resolve but I recently switched to iPad editing because it’s more convenient to edit on site.
@@teenijae3330 Yes the LUTs work in Filmora as well. I have a tutorial here explaining hot to do it on a computer but you'll have to Google how to do it on an iPad though. I'm sure is roughly the same. www.beyondthegame.tv/applying-a-lut-in-filmora
Best camera for beginner ?
Here it is ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.html
Do you film sitting down at basketball games?
Personally I'll get down on one knee from time to time to get some low angle shots but I rarely sit down.
Can I make a video look like this recorded off an iPhone ??
You can make the same type of edits for sure but the image quality of your footage won’t be as good.
Could I record stuff like this with a GoPro hero 8?
You can record basketball with a GoPro but it won’t look as good as the footage you see here, which I think was shot with a Sony A7III.
@@BeyondTheGame_E thanks, another question do you have a video on recording practices of ourself with only 1 camera ?
No I don’t but that’s a good idea though, I’ll put it on the list.
@@BeyondTheGame_E 🙏🏽🙏🏽
😂
What’s the app for editing??
The one in this video is Adobe Premiere Pro.
the sony a7iii doesnt shoot 4k 120
Only 1080p/120
Is this premier pro
Yes it is!
Hi which app are you using to edit these videos?
Adobe Premiere Pro
which app is this for editing
Adobe Premiere Pro
Can you make a video on Track and Field
It’s going to be hard for me to get access to track and field athletes during this pandemic but, if there’s an opportunity, I’ll jump on it for sure.
@@BeyondTheGame_E great!
How to disable the video below if you can't see where the camera is
Sorry, I don’t understand your question at all. Can you please explain?
@@BeyondTheGame_E Video 24.40 Seconds of Operation
@@wiecheng3867 I'm still not sure I understand your question correctly but if you are asking how to disable a clip, it doesn't matter if you see it or not, just right-click on any clip and in the menu you will see a check mark next to the 'enable' option. Just click on that to remove the check mark and the clip will be disabled.
@@BeyondTheGame_E yeah bro so thanks
Can i pay for editing video??
I don’t take on clients like that. But if you were talking about Peter, you should reach out to him directly because I doubt he’ll see this comment.
shouout please I always watch your vlog
