That's what insane people do, they think they are friends with someone because they simply imagined it to be so, they can't see any other reason for the person to do those things.
Poison Ivy would be interesting. The lush greenery she tends to surround herself with would contrast well with the industrial grime of this Gotham, and her use of plants would need some forensics - and Bruce might have to research a subject to solve the case.
Overall, I liked the movie. What I did not like was the Joker cameo. I'd much rather see villains, like the Mad Hatter, that haven't been seen in the live action films yet.
I agree but I also understand Reeves position. Like imagine being a huge Batman fan, and finally getting to direct a movie of him and then think about not using one of his most notable villains. That being said I wouldn't mind like 5 movies in Reeves universe. Fucking do 10. Every villain gets a movie

I didn't even know/realize that Colin Farrell was Penguin until watching this video. I was shocked. Pattinson did a great Batman, but his Bruce Wayne was terrible, like unbearable. I am hoping that had more to do with the writing than him and that they bring the real Bruce Wayne back to life.

Thank you for recognizing Batman is a truck driver murderer. Probably 5 or more people are burning to their deaths and Batman just slowly walks over to the Penguin while sitting upside down in a car and is like "gotcha".
That didn't happen. You saw the trucks burning, not the cabs. The drivers escaped. IGN already did a video on this. The Batman isn't responsible for any deaths in the chase scene, it just looks more exciting than it really was.

I love how the movie hinted that if Bruce had spent a little less time on vigilante action and a little more time managing his finances, which would include his father's Renewal fund, he could have prevented, or at least detected, the rampart corruption. It's an apt critique of the billionaires of our real world, many of whom are obsessed with moonshot projects to revolutionize our world when what we actually need from them is responsible behavior and basic, boring philanthropy
Very well put. "The Batman" has the most down-to-earth Gotham City portrayal apart from "Joker" [or MAYBE, arguably, also apart from "Birds of Prey"]. I also love how the movie establishes a theory hitherto not seen in any live action movie but mentioned in DC comic-books, namely that it might be the vigilante Batman himself who ironically attracts the very kind of supervillains only he can step up against to come to Gotham City in the first place.
@@elfsieben1450 Nolan’s trilogy does that. At the end of Batman Begins, Gordon tells Batman about escalation. And his warning came true in the form of Joker. That’s literally what the Joker was in the Dark Knight. Joker was small time before Batman “changed things forever.” The Joker would never have gotten so much done had Batman not hammered the Mob to the point of desperation and turning to the Joker for help.
I for one would like to call attention to the incredible fight/action scenes in this movie. No shakey handheld camera, minimal cuts, and actual martial arts
Here's a compliment for the movie that few people mention: It had one of the best Hollywood car chases ever! It felt grounded and somewhat realistic, quite tense. The Batmobile itself had a horror element to it with that roaring engine at the start, a proper extension of Batman himself! Making it my favorite Batmobile already despite it's simplistic design
@@diegopansini3152 Well, first of all i did not like the way it was initiated, it felt forced. Also when batman revs the batmobile and kind of does a false start it totaly looked like he stalled the car (quite a number of people got that impression) and the chase itself wasnt particularly all that exciting and the score wasnt, how do i say it, in its full might. Still my favourite batman movie tho. (Sorry if my english was bad)
Iam surprised that he didn't mention Batman's loudest boots yet with which he can easily sneak up behind catwomen who can hear slightest of sound like a cat and ninja escape without anyone noticing.... 😂😂
Actually his shoes are ninja quiet unless he's using his signature Bat Clankers for dramatic effect. What you foolishly thought was a flaw in the sound design is in fact a masterful psy-op that will instantly send Batman's opponents into terrified trembles.
The Batman : He's been working in Gotham for 2 years now , every criminal in gotham fears the batman when they see the light hit the sky Also some random thugs : Who the hEll aRE YoU suPPosEd to bE ?

Should have mentioned his back pack used to belong to Hermione Granger. How did he fit that huge suit of armor, gadgets and thigh fanny pack in that little back pack????
I think he wore the bat suit, and wore regular clothes over it, and put the cowl, and utility belt, and harpoons in the back pack. Oh, and his eye makeup.
He didn’t. The “drifter” outfit is very bulky, and he already has the eye makeup on when he’s wearing it. He’s probably wearing most of the suit underneath that, with just obvious bits line the cowl, cape and gloves in the backpack. That also explains how he changes in and out of the suit so quickly.
This was a solid movie. Robert Pattinson was not my favorite Batman/Bruce Wayne but I really liked how the movie ended. This Batman realized that he needs to be more than just revenge and fear. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
I agree, though sadly after reading your comment, my warped mind immediately put an image in my head of The Batman chucking paper towel rolls at Gotham citizens
I went and saw it a second time in theaters just for the Batmobile scene. That into and then the car chase. Absolute magic. You felt that car, it was incredible.
The fact that Batman intentionally lets the Batmobile stall JUST to give the Penguin a chance to get into his own car, and thus give him the chance to have the thrill of the chase/hunt, was kinda awesome. At least no one died on the highway...just plenty of fender bender claims, is all.
3:03 This is a completely different universe, HT Though it would be cool to pretend that this is a prequel to him joining the Justice League and all that other stuff
The hairiest thing about the Gotham Police Mustache Division was that they never charged the Batman for killing a truckload of truck drivers while he attempted to solve that rat with wings riddle.
That's a funny bit tho... but I think the street cams weren't online at that point. Batman and Gordon didn't take Penguin in, they just let him walk. So they can fight another time.
The penguin shot at a police officer, had a body in the trunk and then killed a bunch of drivers in a chase and doesn't even get arrested. When the chase scene ends I just laughed out loud
Remember Penguin / Oswald Cobblepot is one the richest guys in Gotham besides Bruce Wayne and Roman Sionis / Black Mask, and since Gotham is corrupted, he must bribed the GCPD to not make him to be their prisoner or putting him in Arkham Asylum.
Honestly, the Joker deleted scene was genius having him blurred and a confidante for solving others mental game. Would work well in the movie if they kept it in and removed the tease at the end
So my thought is, the second half of the final act is not necessary. The roddler is caught, everything is basically wrapped up. The ending would've made more sense if the roddler escaped some how and was the one that said the im vengeance line instead of the random. However, with the joker scene in the movie that ending actually plays a way bigger role. Because with jokers examination we see what batman really stands for currently vs what he should. My thoughts of course but the scene not in the movie very much hurts the ending
I think this film was genius, it doesn’t glorify Batman, it shows his flaws of being a vigilante and how he could have actually helped people by being billionaire Bruce Wayne and that he has much to grow. People that didn’t like the movie are either too obsessed with action focused flicks, have low attention span or just didn’t get the point being made, although I agree some scenes felt like filler.
in other batman movies he uses his money to donate to charity to, he also doesn't kill people and is able to solve crimes without a carpet dude. Also you're able to tell what's going on.
While I really like the movie, I do get why people point out that the "world's greatest detective" only figures most of the stuff out thanks to others sort of figuring it out for him.
@W.D. Gaster The emo personality was not required and the detective works lack Batman's involvement and was solving riddles is not that much of a detective work. The movie was mid for me.
@@banana-uo3be Robert Pattinson is 35 years old. Batman has been training to be a ninja detective nonstop for 25 years, and he has nothing to show for it?
I loved the part where the Penguin just goes: the two best detectives in Gotham and they can't figure out that it's LA rata and not EL rata?? These dudes definitely skipped high-school Spanish xD
I would love to see Firefly or even Man-Bat in this universe. It would give this Batman an enemy that would push him to further improve and develop his suits gliding capabilities. A flying villain would also allow for the potential development of the batwing.
No joke about the fact that despite Batman being unstoppable and invincible, he takes a 1-5 score at the end of the day against the Riddler? The only thing he stopped Riddler from doing was kill Bruce Wayne, and that was by accident!
Here's the thing, people hate it and love it in equal measures. But, what people don't understand is that this is a slow burner of a film. The sequels to come will expand and broaden the batman character in both the character of Batman and Bruce Wayne. By film three we will be be gifted a Batman more developed, more rounded and more grounded in a world that we haven't seen yet. We will get a strong Bruce Wayne, a conflict ed Bruce Wayne and we will get a more developed and experienced Batman. I can't wait. To me this movie screams "watch what comes next" and me, I'm 100% down for it
All that doesn't matter. The story is king. And the fact is that the second half was disappointing. Riddler's puzzles meant nothing, nor did he put up much of a fight.
@@umairarifshaikh5095 I still liked it but it could've been better, I agree. It looks amazing and I like all the actors involved and love the dark zodiac/seven-esque tone. @@hamishreid8791 I feel you.. I like it, but at the same time, I'm not 💯 sure.. I just know there is a lot more to come. Actually, Italian names almost never end in a consonant sound. "Falcon" would be the French or Spanish pronunciation. And it would have to be "Falconi" to end with the long "e" sound. Even many Italian-Americans get it wrong.

It sounded very cool in the trailer but I really hated how people called him "Vengeance" more than they called him Batman in this movie. It made him sound like an arcade character with a fun but silly tag line.

Nolan’s trilogy does that. At the end of Batman Begins, Gordon tells Batman about escalation. And his warning came true in the form of Joker.

"Colin Farrell watching the old Daredevil movie" killed me LOL
Been looking forward to this Honest Trailer for a while.
we all have bro. today is finally here
The Twiknight bit killed me 🤣
I know this is an old comment, but I had to give you props! I've been scrolling for like 15mins & you're the 1st; I guess it was too subtle a joke?
It's very punny 😂
“I’m Vengeance”
One of the best lines said by The Batman in my opinion!🌟
It was literally the point of the entire movie that saying and believing that was a mistake.
@@YMasterS I know but him saying it was pretty ominous but in a good way👍
It sounded very cool in the trailer but I really hated how people called him "Vengeance" more than they called him Batman in this movie. It made him sound like an arcade character with a fun but silly tag line.
Ok you owe me a keyboard for the "ok just gonna walk it off" #2:15 comment that made me spit coffee all over it...
When I heard Pattinson was to be the next Batman I groaned BUT I genuinely love his portrayal. Keaton will always be my sentimental favourite but Battinson is perfect. It didn't feel like 3 hours to me tbh. Great review guys, I needed the laugh 😆
Rob's portrayal is literally the most comic accurate after Affleck.
I didn't think Affleck could be beaten but Rob did it.
it's like watching Year One.
matt reeves is a genius
Felt like 10 to me.
Can't wait for the extended version!....He'll actually use some Bat gadgets! HAHAHA
