Lentils are gradually reappearing on the shelves. I've got to have them. I use them nearly every day because they are calorie dense. They are four times as calorie dense as potatoes.
With a heap of remaining precious kidney beans still in my possession, I am growing them in my Quarantine Balcony Garden for fun. They grow fast and are super easy to take care of. I named my bean planter "Jack" & my scallion planter "Jill".
I LOVED all of these lentil recipes! I lived in Morocco, and we used to eat green lentil salad with cucumber, red onion, tomatoes chopped finely and mixed with the not-overcooked green lentils, mixed with lots of lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, coriander (leaf and ground powder), ginger, garlic, salt and harissa -- all eaten with whole wheat bread for utensils. I use red lentls a lot but have not made these recipes....YET. I will try these recipes for sure!!! THANK YOU!
I’ve made red lentil hummus with kids in a cooking class because it doesn’t actually require a blender. Just cook them a touch more and they’ll be soft enough to use a spoon. Great option for low income families who may not have blenders or food processors. I think the Philly cheese steak was inspired and the quickest seitan recipe I’ve ever seen.
I have a chicken called BOSH... spelt Bosch.. how bizarre... absolutely LOVE your delivery and now I am totally “ benteld” on lentils! Awesome recipes guys!
Wow, these look wonderful, and I appreciate that I can get full flavored Whole Food, Plant Based (Vegan) unprocessed recipes from a short to the point quality video! You guys rock! 👏❤️👍
Scottish Soup ,that's my dinner sorted, midday, Northerner. 😁 I've no celery so I'm substituting it with leek and I'll just cook the spinach and kale for a couple of minutes at the end. Thanks fellas for the inspiration. 👍
Wow guys I loved you before but I love you even more now. This is my first time seeing a vid in this format: the colour commentary next to bomb recipes the making. It's like watching sports for cooking and I'm about that life!! All these look amazing and straight forward, yummmmm. Thank you!
Great to see you guys in front of the camera! We need to see you! We're all locked down here in New Zealand too, only one week in so still adjusting. Stay safe and stay well xx
No way! I'm so glad you asked! This morning I made a sprouted and dehydrated lentil 'protein powder' and put it in a smoothie for my 73 year-old mother's breakfast. So of course we were speculating about whether it would cause gas, that is, Lentil Ventle. I then said, if she were Jewish, we could call it Yentl Lentil Ventle. (No disrespect intended!)
And rinse after soaking to remove the component that feeds the gas creating gut microbes with the rinse water. Some legumes you may have to do this several times over 2-3 days to prevent gas.
Brilliant video just what i needed....more like this please during lock down i shall probably be making them all.. the roti looked like fun.... just subscribed xx
My grandmother use to make a different legume EVERYDAY but I hated lentil day🤢 now that I'm taking the first baby steps to be vegan I know I need lentils in my life but I was wondering HOW? THIS IS THE BEST LENTIL VIDEO!!! THNX GUYS!
While shopping for beans and rice, which I could not find any at all, shelves were empty because of this virus, I found a 4-pound bag of brown lentils shoved way under a bottom shelf. They are my only protein but I have no idea how to cook them. I'm grateful that you have posted this. Thank you!
I would add more aromatics since it is called Biryani like coriander powder, pinch of ground nutmeg and mace along with some strands of saffron soaked in few tablespoons of hot water . Great recipes. 🙏🏽
Love ya’lls style of filming. Loved the recipes! Recently bought some red lentils and I have never cooked that in my entire life. Don’t even remember eating it either, so looking forward to fix’n some of your recipes. Loved the Scottish soup one.

Love hummus! That red lentil hummus looks divine!😋😋
"Give peas a chance" is going on my family's kitchen blackboard. Great recipes!
“If you cut a vegan, they bleed hummus” 😂Too true! Why is it so addictive? ❤️❤️❤️
😉
Because of the massive amounts of olive oil that reminds you of animal fats (an ex vegetarian, now carnivore)
@@Lechuque good for you! Just leave Others To eat what they want without toxic comments:)
@@tipotto896 Where's the toxicity in my comment?
@@Lechuque You're not a carnivore, you're an omnivore. Unless you eat nothing but meat which I doubt as that would be very unhealthy.
If only lentils were still available at the supermarkets! All of a sudden, everyone wants to eat lentils!
Good for them! Maybe they will eat less chicken ;D
Rekkha R not just lentils are scare, so are other beans and legumes. Getting as scarce as chickens with teeth.
Lentils are gradually reappearing on the shelves. I've got to have them. I use them nearly every day because they are calorie dense. They are four times as calorie dense as potatoes.
I couldn't find any beans or rice, but I found a 4-pound bag shoved way under a bottom shelf! Guess I won the Lentil Lottery! LOL
With a heap of remaining precious kidney beans still in my possession, I am growing them in my Quarantine Balcony Garden for fun. They grow fast and are super easy to take care of. I named my bean planter "Jack" & my scallion planter "Jill".

I bought brown green and pink to grow in the garden. And they are sprouting up. So exciting 🤩
So many great ideas here, especially the pate.

Scottish Soup ,that's my dinner sorted, midday, Northerner. 😁
I've no celery so I'm substituting it with leek and I'll just cook the spinach and kale for a couple of minutes at the end.
Thanks fellas for the inspiration. 👍
Did a hummus with brown channa dhal. Came out yum! Looked a bit like mustard, but richer in taste than the usual chickpea. Loved this video. Enjoy!
You two are hilarious; love your enthusiasm~
You guys are making me so hungry.
I've been wanting to go vegan and you're making it simple and delicious.
Thank you.

Quick tip, soak the lentils before cooking it to reduce gas.
And rinse after soaking to remove the component that feeds the gas creating gut microbes with the rinse water. Some legumes you may have to do this several times over 2-3 days to prevent gas.

8:58 all the ingredients are interrupted by the split screen top right. So you can’t see what’s going into the recipe. ... not ideal
That didn’t happen on my screen.. however, I would love to see the recipes I print!
Ive got loads of these ingredients in so throughout the coming weeks will be trying them out on my lot, there are 5 of us at home on lock down so I’m sure this will be a great way it fill them up 😊❤️
