Growing up with this kind of music, I do feel lucky to enjoy it during that era. Thanks for your comments about the older generation! Thanks for your reactions again!!
Great reaction. It's nice to see younger people with common sense and appreciate what life is really about. Nothing beats rock music from the late 60's to the early 2000's. Heart, passion, soul, and actual talent was never more fully on display than during this time. If you are looking for faster Lynryd Skynyrd songs, "Call Me The Breeze," "Saturday Night Special," and "Gimmie Three Steps" are great places to start. Keep going, because you have miles and miles and miles to go, and you will not be disappointed. All of us watching your reactions will not steer you in the wrong direction.
Thank you, lovely lady, for going back to my time in music... 👍Every Single time I hear this song it gives me chills, this is one of my favorite songs from Lynyrd Skynryd. And yes, you are right to say music of today is not the same as back in my day. Many people of today don't know about or have forgotten the pure sound of making music the hard and more traditional way, it was done more with real interments and not using computer generated type music. Back then they put their hearts and sweat into it not just their voices. 😁
I sing this with our band. Just my kind of music. Im Country Rock Bluesy and so is this. We still play in our backyard all summer. How I grew up. My Dad played in a bamd and we had parties galore. We still do. My boy plays drums now and my nieces sing with me. Youve never seen 2 black girls than can sing country music like they can. God bless ya, Mia. Ive seen your other stuff and thats your thing but have to say I simply adore seeing this side of you.
This is probably one of my favorite reactions for you Mia. I appreciate your 'simple farmgirl' story...this is exactly what this song is about for me. "Be a simple man."
One of the greatest bands ever. One of my favorite songs by them. You need to do a few more. Even though they got alot of great songs. Here's a few, I Never Dreamed, You Got That Right, Was I Right Or Wrong, Tuesday's Gone, That Smell, Ballad Of Curtis Loew & lastly Freebird. New subscriber here
I’m a 64 y/o guy and was 13 when this came out and it still has an impact on my life and how I choose to live. I also have a 29 y/o son and I remember playing this for him when he was about 15 making him read along with the lyrics and talking to him about it afterwards. He loved the song and has become the man any parent would be proud to call their son. I’m not saying that the song made him turn out this way but I like to think that I set the example that he followed and that the song sets forth.
Other Skynyrd songs to try are: *Tuesday's Gone __ The Ballad of Curtis Loew __ Freebird __ Sweet Home Alabama __ The Needle and the Spoon __ Gimme Three Steps __ Gimme Back My Bullets ... and many more.* But this one and Tuesday's Gone are my two favorites. And I listed them pretty much in order on my favs list. The 70's were my teen years...and what a great decade it was for music.
One of the great southern rock bands i grew up with this and still listen to rock especially the 80s era I can't get into the new music glad you like the song love your reactions
You have to react to them performing Free Bird live at Oakland. Knebworth park was amazing also but hard to find a good quality of the Knebworth performance.
Agreed. That type of harmony no longer exists. They grew up together and were all musically advanced. Now Hollywood hand picks “artists” and they all rely on Computers. Music will never be this good again.
This is one of my favorite songs. And I agree with you about the older generation music versus music today. Also I have to echo others in their recommendation. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird live in Oakland 1977. It is an amazing performance that I think you would enjoy. Hope you have a great week Mia.
Hi Mia 😊 Another great reaction !! When you reacted to Journey I said they're my favorite Rock band...well Skynyrd is my favorite Southern Rock band and was blessed enough to see them live many times before their fatal plane crash😢 I love your simple outlook on life,we need more women like you in this world....take care and always be safe sweet Mia !!❤

Lynyrd Skynyrd. Great band with a tragic history. So many amazing songs. This is one of their biggest hits. Charlie Daniels also did a song called "Simple Man". Just the same by name, but a whole different song. Worth checking out as well.
I have travelled a fair amount, and your comments at the end really did resonate with me. I mean that makes so much sense and that's partly or rather mostly the way I feel as well. One exception to that rule is on a much more mundane travel scale, where when I was younger, I went on several road trips not only with friends, but sometimes with people I hardly knew at all and then we got to know each other really well and became friends. That's not the same as spending some time in Italy or France or Vietnam or Bulgaria, wherever. Another slow one although to me they're not really all that slow and they always have sections of high intensity, but this is an absolutely beautiful and sad song, it's just so beautiful and the storytelling is good, and it was a big hit for them and a fan favorite: "Tuesday's Gone".
So glad you enjoyed " LYNYRD SKYNYRD " these guys are from the heart...Yes never settle ..accept from your heart..great reaction!!! Check out more Lynyrd Skynyrd..these guys are for real
Mia My friend's sister and I went to Lynyrd Skynyrd with original singer's brother singing (his brother took over singing 10 years after the tragic plane crash) last year. This version of LS is not with original members after last member, Gary Rossington, guitarist died early last year. They do have one member of the band named Ricky Medlocke; guitarist played in the band for long time. During this concert, we went to, this song was playing as original singer's brother singing this song. There with a mike stand holding the hat of Ronnie Van Zant, original singer. This concert was mostly a tribute to all original members. Up with Skynyrd Nation! Mia, as you go thru the rabbit hole of LS, here's a brief backstory of the band: Back in early 1970's in Jacksonville, Florida, original members were in high school wearing long hair (kind of protest to conformity and war in Vietnam). They had a gym teacher named Leonard Skinner plus teacher. Skinner hated men with long hair. He always gives members hard time because of long hair in school. During their time in school, members started a rock band. As fun and mockery to Coach Skinner, they named their band after him as sort of protest but spelled differently as you see here. LS gotten very famous as the years went for their careers, then tragic plane crash in 1977 killing Ronnie and few other people. LS went into indefinitely hiatus until 1987, band reformed with singer's brother, Johnnie. Back to Coach Skinner, band invited him onstage with them introduce fans of band who helped to start their careers. Coach Skinner is mentioned at the Rock Hall of Fame with LS got inducted into Rock Hall of Fame.
As a Jacksonville long time resident (37y) I'd like to share that Coach Skinner retired from teaching/coaching at Robert E Lee High School, where most of the core members attended and he became a successful Realtor here in town. Of course it made all the local news channels when he sadly passed away. The Van Zant house where Ronnie and his family grew up in is now kind of a recognized landmark complete with an official plaque sign stating it. It's neat to drive by and see it as it was in the 70s; it's been meticulously maintained and well taken care of. In 1988, I had an unexpected unforgetable experience with one of the members. I was a busboy at a Japanese Steak House, Mikado, which is no longer but the building is still there. One Saturday night just as we were cleaning up and prepping to close the restaurant, our manager came around and said, "We have a special guest coming so please hold off on cleaning up everything." I thought to myself, "Great now I can't go out to O'Malley's and meet my friends." Who walks thru the front door at around 10:30pm? The great Billy Powell and his wife. At that particular time, I didn't know what he looked like, but I was very familar with all of LS songs. So after he and his wife finished their Tepanyaki dinner, he asked for all the staff to come over into the dining room as he wanted to personally thank all of us. Get this, as he was shaking all of our hands, a $100 bill came with it. Even little ole me, the busboy received $100 from him. In 1988, that was to me a lot of money. After he and his wife left, I went to go and lock the front door, peeked outside and saw them get into a white stretched Lincoln Limo and drive away. What a class act and a very cool guy who genuinely appreciated us waiting and cooking for him and his wife. I'll never forget that experience. RIP Billy.
@dunhill1 Awesome story I know that another local band, Shinedown, started out local bar owned by the widow of Ronnie van Zant. Plus, one of the members dated the daughter of Ronnie. Shinedown famously covered Simple Man at the bar before they like LS, becoming well-known in music.
@@MrTech226 Yeah, I believe Shinedown was also formed here. I wasn't aware of them until they covered Simple Man and it is very well done. Outside of that, I really don't know much of their music. There must be something in the St. Johns River, cuz so many great bands were formed here as you may know....38 Special, Molly Hatchet, Black Foot, Limp Bizkit, & more that I can't think of right now.
My favorite rock band!!! Oh yes you will love this rabbit hole. I need you, Tuesdays gone, gimme back my bullets, cry for the bad man, balled of Curtis lowe just too many to choose from! But definitely I need you is a vibe!!! Love the reaction you look amazing as usual!
I appreciate your humility and honesty! Ur simple outlook on life is a beautiful thing. It allows me to see you for more than just what’s on the outside, if only jus a lil bit. TY 🙏🏽 🥀
Great reaction, more Lynyrd Skynyrd please . Also Fleetwood Mac’s song Rhiannon ( Midnight Special edition ) and Pink Floyd’s song Comfortably Numb live Pulse concert😊.
Love your soul lady. Iam 62 yo so i see your beautiful face and body, but i see you as my daughter i never had. Stay simple and stay as beautiful your soul is.
This song helped me through my mom’s run in with cancer this year, she gave me a talk similar to the one in the song. I’m 22 now and have listened to this song since I was a baby but it means something different to me now, in a good way
Awww. I am so impressed of course I love this song and I know I’m much older and the first time I saw you I didn’t know what to expect and now I see you so differently and I have such a great respect as the woman you are and I appreciate you not being so superficial. I hope everyone treats you well as you deserve and watch as you react to this great music that we have been fortunate to grow up with. 😊🌸 I love your reactions and thank you for making me smile and being you…
“I’m curious to see what mama said”, “Shout out to mama… for raising a good one” & “I’d rather my man be a simple man, be quiet and nobody know about you” 😁 was my favorite quote’s from you. Simple man is one of my go to songs if I’m feeling down “just put some headphones on and jam”
Just subscribed missed this video but I'll check the next one. I'm that simple man born in Georgia a southern gentleman I'm 63 lived all this music. You're right mom taught us right much respect.
@MiaSorety - I'm really impressed, though not actually surprised by how moved and impressed you were by this song. And your assessment of how blessed I (and those of my ilk) were to grow up with music like this and much of the other that you're now discovering, versus what the last couple of generations have been subjected to is absolutely accurate. Did you catch the portion of her advice where she told him to be someone HE could love and understand? Genuine acceptance and meaningful admiration has to start in the mirror - so effin' profound!
Hello from Switzerland (my adoptive country for 30 years) from a Texas guy (Tyler Texas) Babe, your mentality, your strength is admirable!!!! Keep going strong!!!! wish you the best!!!!
Definitely one of my favorite skynrd songs. My mom passed away a few years ago and this song makes me think of her. You've already done sweet home alabama which is another one. Tuesday's Gone is a slower one too. Metallica did a cover of that one. Foo Fighters - Best of You (2005), My Hero (late 90s) for some upbeat rock. Liking your views on life. Stay sensible in an insane world.
Did you mention Houston? Cool 😎. That’s where I am from, but currently reside in Waco Texas. I saw 👀, sooooo many bands at the Summit, in Houston, as well as the Houston Coliseum. I partied, very hard throughout the 80s, and 90s, and am somewhat of an expert on rock music. That includes ALL of the different genres. Ex: 90s Grunge too. Really got into, *Techno* as well. New Order, Psychadelic Furs, Duran, Duran and sooo many others. The last two mentioned, are more considered as , * New Wave* or simply, 80s alternative. Was big into the club scene. * Confetti’s* in Houston, was one of my favs.
Miha it is so good to hear you say what you said and take this for what it's worth I'm 75 years old but you were going to find that a lot more of your generation are feeling the same way. They are tired of the phoniness of entertainment and politicians and they just want a simple better life for themselves and their children. I will pray that you get that someday.
I been waiting for ur upload now u have thank you queen for the reaction and for being absolutely beautiful yet again have a lovely chilled relaxed night ❤❤
Its why I love being a 60 yr old Georgia kuntry boy as I live in a small rural lake community of about 300 people, I have a 2 acre garden, turtle pond, Koi pond, 15 chickens, 3 ducks, pet squirrel, cat & my trusty companion chocolate Lab Reggie! You couldnt pay me enough to live in a concrete jungle! I have lived by this song since it 1st came out PEACE LOVE n HIPPYNESS ✌💖☮
Fantastic reaction Mia. The 70s had amazing music. I am also extremely impressed by the self respect. I do know a good 90s band and video. I enjoyed the band Incubus. I would start with “Wish You Were Here”
I know it isn't your personal genre of music but back in the day, (1960s-1970s-early 1980s) there was a very diverse variety of music. There was no internet and only 3 TV channels so music was the way to escape our reality. Those of us who were stoners listened to Rock, Southern Rock, Motown, English bands and Modern Country heard music for EVERY mood, and ours ran the gamut from energetic partying to 12 hour acid trips. There was music that was mellow and slow with meaningful lyrics and beautiful tunes, sometimes with orchestra added. I hope in your musical discovery you will give alternative music a listen and experience the laid back mellow music we used to listen to when "coming down" from a long introspective high. It was a special time and it gave us an interesting perspective on life and how to live it.
In my opinion, the sad part of this generation does have music like Skynyrd. But the music industry makes it hard to hear it. Bands like Whiskey Myers, Blackberry Smoke, The Steel Woods & so many more. Luckily Jelly Roll has broken out. Even though I prefer his rap to his country, his country is still great
I’m the same way I like nice things but I like a simple life, we’ll have a simple life together and yes shoutout to your momma and my momma they both raised us right baby❤
I agree with you Mia because I like my privacy and I will travel with family or a significant other if I had a significant other and I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert and it was one of the best concerts that I have been to
Nice song. In that same vein, Allman Brothers Band - Midnight Rider. Please put on your radar: The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced?, YES - Owner of a Lonely Heart, Pink Floyd - Have a Cigar, The Smith's - What Difference Does It Make, The Cars - Since You're Gone. Thanks Mia!
FWIW, I've watched a few reactions to Simple Man. Everyone praises it, everyone loves it, everyone mostly gets it. But your take re the comparison to current celebs, musical themes, social media lifestyle, and what you want is fire. There's a lot more there, I think. Would be interesting to see how themes have changed in general across time. It occurs to me that Grandmaster Flash's The Message (you should check it out) from 1982 might be a part of this conversation, as well. Anyway, excellent analysis.
Esta canción representa lo que deberían ser los principios básicos de una persona, no importa la generación pero se ha ido perdiendo a través de los años. Gracias a Dios tenemos grandes canciones como esta que nos recuerdan lo que es importante. Saludos
Beck's Big ups respect for your reaction to this song. If you keep this up I might use the M word! I appreciated your thoughts on living in the country side and making moments with the people that matter in your life. You made me feel proud for you.... for the moment! But if you even think about dissin Guns and Roses slow songs!
Well, Sound Girl 😊, it's definitely a thing. And as a musician and composer and whatnot for many years, although I really appreciate great writing and fantastic lyrics, my brain just latches onto the sound always. I'm always analyzing the structure of it and who's doing what and how did the moving pieces relate to each other and how does it sound. Regardless of the words how is the singer delivering them, how tight is this band or ensemble? That kind of thing. Because of that, I frequently mis-hear lyrics and I'm usually disappointed when I find out what they really are because I have become attached to my own Rorschach ink block test version of the lyrics, lol. 😅
Great song, tied for me with Free Bird as their best. In studio they play with a subtlety and perfect mix, this song is one of the best slower paced tunes ever and the lyrics are forever relevant. Next, try That Smell, another all time banger with a message to tell, from the great, original band. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🔥
I'm totally a sound's guy too. If I don't read the lyrics or totally pay attention to the lyrics I absolutely don't care about the lyrics 😅 Most of the songs I know I have no idea or just some hints about the lyrics. Lynyrd Skynyrd was such a big band! And piano man is an absolute classic, from them I love also Sweet Home Alabama and Tuesday's gone.
There was a hit song back in the 90s whose whole music video was made up of a bunch of missing people's posters. The song is called "Runaway Train", by Soul Asylum. It doesn't have a billion views, but its views are up there. I really enjoy your reactions. My favorite lynyrd Skynyrd song is Give Me Back My Bullets
I'm more for life in contact with nature or not too artificial. Studying and practicing to be a dog trainer, in a little village in nature, I love it. Travels are not the final goal, the people you're with or what you're searching for is what makes a travel special.
You're right on that point cutie I'm 63 next January 20th so yes I grew up with this after 11 years and some pretty bad cities Detroit Grand Rapids East Lansing Miami Jacksonville now live with the little town of Tustin 5 acre lot another 12 acre lot and when you're in the lot you can't see the neighbors rule in the country beautiful
As a musician I will tell you that like myself most musicians hear the music of a song first or deeper first. And some writers need the music first before expressing the lyrics.
Love this song and if you also loved this song I feel like you would also enjoy the Shinedown cover of it. Shinedown is another band that I think that once you give them a shot you will want to listen to as many of their songs as possible.
Exactly! The older generation was simple. That's how I was raised.

After he and his wife left, I went to go and lock the front door, peeked outside and saw them get into a white stretched Lincoln Limo and drive away. What a class act and a very cool guy who genuinely appreciated us waiting and cooking for him and his wife. I'll never forget that experience. RIP Billy.
@dunhill1 Awesome story
I know that another local band, Shinedown, started out local bar owned by the widow of Ronnie van Zant.
@@dunhill1 Shinedown's Brent Smith's vocals on Simple Man is awesome. Video of Shinedown covering LS' Simple Man is UA-cam
TY 🙏🏽 🥀
New favorite reactor unlocked!!! Jesus christ this woman is Gorgeous😍😍😍
One of the greatest live bands during their time.
😊🌸 I love your reactions and thank you for making me smile and being you…
Love your outlook on life mia you have been raised well with your morals.❤
Hell yeah! Man brings back great memories, I used to ride the dirt roads and jam out to lynyrd Skynyrd and many others. 👍🏻👍🏻
One of my all time favorite songs from one of the greatest bands ever. Thank you for reacting!
I really loved everything that you said. You are rare for a younger girl
Hi beautiful Mia! This is one song I get told it reminds people of me. I loved this song, plus so many of their songs
Hello from Switzerland (my adoptive country for 30 years) from a Texas guy (Tyler Texas)
Babe, your mentality, your strength is admirable!!!! Keep going strong!!!! wish you the best!!!!
3 lead guitars one bass player one drummer a piano player three backup singers 1 lead singer all were very talented
It’s One of the greatest song ever written
Free Bird is incredible ! The guitar sounds awesome and the ending of the song is epic ! 🥂🌹🌹🌹🌹
Knew you'd love this one. It does rock. Its simple. And beautiful.
Fantastic reaction Mia. The 70s had amazing music. I am also extremely impressed by the self respect. I do know a good 90s band and video. I enjoyed the band Incubus. I would start with “Wish You Were Here”
Love your channel. You are smart and intuitive. No disrespect, but you are stunning.
Great reaction. Freebird is thier masterpiece, and Tuesday's Gone is my own personal fav.
Even though I prefer his rap to his country, his country is still great
I love this song and I think that in my opinion Shinedown did an amazing job covering this. Have a great weekend and happy thanksgiving
bby...you hit it spot on, times were good back then w the music and the attitude made for good times.
OH NO, girl the best version of this song is Shinedown - Simple Man!!! Check it out, I think you'll love that.
BUllSH*T nothing touches the ORIGINAL....... slimedown......whatever
I’m the same way I like nice things but I like a simple life, we’ll have a simple life together and yes shoutout to your momma and my momma they both raised us right baby❤
I agree with you Mia because I like my privacy and I will travel with family or a significant other if I had a significant other and I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert and it was one of the best concerts that I have been to
I love your reaction to this. God Bless You!
You are right, young lady.
Hey Mia, great choice today. This band rocks, and so do you. Please give Free Bird live a listen.
That’s the older generation is better that’s why even with our age difference we will get along great baby❤
Thanks Mia!
Played this at our son funeral. It reminds me so much of him.
Beautiful reaction
FWIW, I've watched a few reactions to Simple Man. Everyone praises it, everyone loves it, everyone mostly gets it. But your take re the comparison to current celebs, musical themes, social media lifestyle, and what you want is fire. There's a lot more there, I think. Would be interesting to see how themes have changed in general across time. It occurs to me that Grandmaster Flash's The Message (you should check it out) from 1982 might be a part of this conversation, as well. Anyway, excellent analysis.
Ain’t nothing wrong with simple country life.
RIP Ronnie Van Zandt ✌️❤️🎸
Great reaction from a beautiful lady.
Another very famous song of theirs is "Sweet home Alabama". Another must hear!!
Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🔥
I love the song and I love your outlook on life, it's refreshing
Great selection and is my favorite lyrics. The other great songs from Lynyrd Skynryd are "Saturday Night Special" and "Give Me 3 Steps."
I'm totally a sound's guy too.
If I don't read the lyrics or totally pay attention to the lyrics I absolutely don't care about the lyrics 😅
Most of the songs I know I have no idea or just some hints about the lyrics.
Lynyrd Skynyrd was such a big band!
And piano man is an absolute classic, from them I love also Sweet Home Alabama and Tuesday's gone.
🔥 song love the video Mia stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
One of the best songs ever
I love Lynyrd Skynyrd! I said I was in a rocker but I think I love classic rock and not heavy metal.😍🎶
Your simple man right here baby we’re gonna have a good life together ❤
Free Bird live at Kebworth is a vibe! I've never heard this song before - thanks for the intro to it, I like it 😊
Edit: I love it! Wow!
I'm more for life in contact with nature or not too artificial.
Studying and practicing to be a dog trainer, in a little village in nature, I love it.
Travels are not the final goal, the people you're with or what you're searching for is what makes a travel special.
I hear you, I'm into the slower country life. Love this song.
I love your values. They're commendable. It sounds like a wonderful way to live your life.
I love music! Both instrumental and lyrics
Stevie ray vaughn life without you live is perfect
As a musician I will tell you that like myself most musicians hear the music of a song first or deeper first. And some writers need the music first before expressing the lyrics.
Hello Mia you should listen Tuesday's Gone or Freebird from them , i think you will enjoy it to.
Love this song and if you also loved this song I feel like you would also enjoy the Shinedown cover of it. Shinedown is another band that I think that once you give them a shot you will want to listen to as many of their songs as possible.
I’m telling you baby there’s nothing wrong with slower songs you just have to find the ones you relate to ❤
This is a great song, shinedown did it too both versions and groups do a great job on it
