I would just like to say that YOU my friend, are the embodiment of this song! And, if it’s not asking too much, can you thank your Mom for me, please? For raising such a well rounded young man, and allowing him to follow a path that brings joy to many people! I know, for me at least, it’s IMPOSSIBLE not to feel uplifted after watching ANY of your videos. So, I hope that you continue to explore, and refine the MANY gifts that God has granted You.
This is my favorite song by them with a great message. Great southern rock band from the 60's-80's. It is very sad what happened to this band in losing so many members in a plane crash in 1977. They had lots of great songs such as "Sweet Home Alabama", "Call Me The Breeze", "Tuesday's Gone", "That Smell", "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew", "What's Your Name", "Gimme Three Steps", "Saturday Night Special" etc.
When my son got married, this is the song he and my wife danced to in the Mother/Son dance. He picked the song. He got his taste in music from me I guess😊
I can't believe that I'm sharing this my mom is not the type of person to send me songs and this is song is truly not in her genre she loves Elvis but anyway I was going through some very tough times in my life and I was very drunk and punching holes in the garage walls and out of no ware she sent me this song and I cried my eyes out !!!!
Tuesday's Gone is my favorite song by Skynyrd who by the way was my first concert ever in April of 1977 about nine days past my 17th birthday. Ronnie Van Zant wrote songs for the working man.
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Another great song by Lynyrd Skynyrd is 🎵Tuesday's Gone 🎵 Live from Winterland (SF) You're gonna adore this song, too Keep the good work, my friend ✌️ 👍🏻 👏
What’s really sad is that there’s a lot of people don’t feel that feeling your talking about. And it’s a great feeling. Some people don’t feel music like that. It is the best feeling. Too be able feel the words, music, the entertainers emotion is something you’ll never forget. The way a song made you feel in that moment. Hold on to that. Love watching your reactions. ♥️💖💜
You are hardly the only one who has teared up or cried to this song. The lyrics (and singing) are so simple and clear and yet incredibly meaningful and powerful.
Hey Shon, glad you enjoyed this song, it's a favorite of mine too. My son grew up listening to this song and whenever he hears this song on the radio, he calls me to talk about things. And then he always says mom I'm so glad I grew up listening to that song, thanks mom. 😊 Here's the iconic live performance of Lynyrd Skynyrd singing" Freebird", if interested. "Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird - 7/2/1977 - (Oakland Coliseum Stadium (Official)" Lovely reaction thanks for sharing
Yep the message in this song is priceless. I've hear this song hundreds of times and I can still listen to it hundreds of more times. Like a fine wine....even better with time and it was already great.
❤ It's a joy, you react to the song the same way we did when we were younger. The message is timeless. Big Thanks from Germany.❤One of my favorite songs ever.
A GREAT BAND FROM MY HOMETOWN, JACKSONVILLE,FLORIDA!!!! .......THAT'S A SOUTHERN MAMA, LIKE MOST MAMA'S, TALKING TO HER SON, HOW TO BE A GOOD MAN AND A SIMPLE MAN, LIVE YOUR DREAMS, NOT YOUR FANTASIES .....TRUST IN GOD AND DO THE RIGHT THING....THANKS FOR THE REACTION SHON.......WONDERFUL
We all in the south pretty much try to do what our mama said because if you didn't she would send you out to the bush to get a Switch and you'd better not bring back a small one lol
hey man, i watch a lot of reaction videos but when i see a new one pop up on your channel i always get hyped bro. you love and understand music the way i do. keep it up bro. much love from Mississippi
*Shon, PLEASE react to "Simple Man" by Shinedown. It's a cover of this song but it's the most amazing cover I've ever heard. The guitarist for Shinedown (at the time) is married to Melody Van Zant. Melody is the daughter of Ronnie Van Zant (singer for Lynyrd Skynyrd). It's more of a tribute than just covering the song because they liked it. You'll love it!*
@@jdhoss153 Really? I thought Hank Williams Jr was nice but really slow. There was no "wow" there but there doesn't need to be either. Shinedown gave it something special (to me anyway) by sticking to the original while still giving it something unexpected and special with the notes he hits. Hank Williams Jr is still an icon though.
Freebird is the hands-down no-brainer choice if you want to react to a live Lynyrd Skynyrd. The 7/2/1977 show in Oakland is one of the best live rock performances of all-time of any band.
My young brother, be happy you can still call your mom, I lost mine recently and only WISH I could call her. It happened unexpectedly and fast and there were things I wish had been said when I could! So gs like this make it only worse that I CANT pick up the phone and thank her for all she had done in my life and I can only hope she was proud of the Man I have become. I know she knows that I loved her and there is NOBODY in this world that will ever love you like your momma! Unconditionally. I just wish I would have told her how much I appreciated her. I just hope that where she is, she knows and still sees the product of her unwavering PATIENCE accomplished.
Skynyrd's discography is epic, so many great jams🤘🏼. Leonard Skenard was their highschool p.e. teacher in the days gone by 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼 edit: if my rock band was named after my p.e. teach' it'd be Fessler Frodall😄
RIP, greatest southern rock band in the history of music. No matter what comes, its all been done by these cats already😢if you do a live vid. Let it be before 1977 plane crash. They were the originals after the crash, lead singers brother fronted as lead with a couple new folks😮
This is a brilliant review, so many reviewers have not payed attention to the lyrics and completely missed the premise of this song. Its so easy to get caught up in the stresses of modern life getting involved in the rat race.. this song helps you remember that life is not a race, enjoy the moments you are in, take your time to bask in happy times, be a simple man and learn to love yourself for who you are, not for material possessions. Be a good person as said in the song "remember there is someone up above". Be a good man and live a simple ( stress free) life.
This is my favorite song as a mother of two grown sons they know this song it is to be played at my funeral not trying to sound Gory but whenever they are going through hard times I always send them this song to hear again❤
Glad to see you appreciate great music. Simple Man is best from the album. Live performances, watch Freebird performed at Oakland CA or Knebworth. Another great song is Cry For the Bad Man performed at Winterland 1976. You can't go wrong listening to any Lynyrd Skynyrd songs. The whole band was blessed with amazing talent never to be seen or heard like them again.
This song always hits my soul every time. Sometimes when i get stressed I forget about what really matters and what I truly need.. chasing the rich mans gold for example thinking that will bring me happiness, life can get complicated.. but every time I listen to this song it grounds me again like hitting a big reset button, and I realise the things I was focusing on wasn't going to bring me happiness at all its just a distraction from what I truly need in my life.
just jumped to this after your Straight Outta Compton reaction, mad props for the diversity. music is universal, it belongs to us all. a message is what it is, it isn't laid there for just one person or group, look where it took you, lemme give a shout out to your mom too, she raised an open minded young man. mad props to her, and you as well... subscribed.
I grew up listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd. I was in high school when the band died. I love all their music. I am happy to see people getting turned on by it
Let them tears out. I've cried plenty to this. First time i heard this i was 20 at a friend's funeral. I had already heard them before with "Freebird" and "Tuesdays Gone" but never really checked them out outside of that. I'm 35 now and my brother passed away 3 years ago and he was a "simple man"
I'm not a man and I never heard this song, but listening to it on the day of my mom's passing 11 years ago, it really touched my heart . Yall , if your mom's still around, respect her and treat her like the goddess she is, because once she's gone, you will be alone in the world, no matter how big your family may be or how many friends you may have, nobody can replace your mom
Freebird Was Allen Collins And R.Van Zant ! "Simple Man" Was Wrote By Gary Rossington & R.V. Zant He ( Gary )Just Passed Away a Couple Months, Ago. 😢 He Was The Last REBEL! ( ORIGINAL Founding Member Of SKYNYRD!)
Southern Rock. It's the REAL thing.
It's so great to see younger generations reaching back to enjoy these great artists I grew up with in my life time!
Shout out to Momma Shon. Nothing better represents us than our children. The world needs more moms like you.
Good music can touch us. And, never be ashamed to shed tears about momma.
I absolutely love this reaction. “All that you need is in your soul.”
Amen
I would just like to say that YOU my friend, are the embodiment of this song! And, if it’s not asking too much, can you thank your Mom for me, please? You picked a “timeless classic” Sir. It still rocks 50 years after its release. Your comments and reactions say it all! God bless.
Hey I’m 60. I walked into town at 10 to buy this album. ❤ the 60s and 70s music will rock you. Xo G mma !!!!!! ❤️

My favorite too
Skynyrd died in 77. Anything after Ronnie died is just a glorified cover band.
My favorite song of all time
When my son got married, this is the song he and my wife danced to in the Mother/Son dance. He picked the song. He got his taste in music from me I guess😊

Freebird live in Oakland is the one you want to see. It's legendary.
Agree 1000% ❤
To my bro, one of his favorite songs growing up. Until we meet again, I'll continue to live my life a simple man knowing there's someone up above
I think every mother may have or should dedicate this song to their son.
That Smell is their best song. Ballad of Curtis Leow will change your life
I love watching people rediscover great music. It speaks to us in different ways. But the message is always clear ❤
"What's Your Name", "Gimme Three Steps", "Saturday Night Special", "That Smell", "Tuesday's Gone" are all great songs by Lynard Skynyrd to check out.
I can’t express how much I love your reactions, and this one right here is the reason. You made me smile Shon, thank you
As a mother of 2 sons, this song hits me deep. RIP to all the Skynard members ❤
Skynrd's "Ballad Of Curtis Lowe". I think you will enjoy it.

Yep, I was going to suggest Freebird Oak coliseum 1977.
@@jeremiahrose4681 That was the last concert I went to before loeaving for boot camp.
Wow, that's amazing see Ronnie just before his accident.@@davidgross990
You have to do "They Call Me the Breeze". That one will have you rocking out..
Shinedown did a great cover of this song. It is a stronger feeling version(like Disturbed's version Sound Of Silence).
Tuesday's gone..great skynyrd song
The words make my eyes sweaty.
Good reaction, this song is legendary and still brings tears to my eyes. So good.
Ballad of Curtis Lowe and Tuesday's Gone are musts .
Don't worry ! Give me 3 steps !
Yep the message in this song is priceless. I've hear this song hundreds of times and I can still listen to it hundreds of more times. Like a fine wine....even better with time and it was already great.
I'm riding the same train as you
Another Skynyrd masterpiece. Thanks for the reaction.
Great reaction again..
Keep em coming!!
I seen them 3 times...

Freebird - live from Oakland 7/2/77 all the way!

GREAT track!!!!! ❤
Freebird Live July 2,1977. This was 3 months before the plane crash that killed 3/4 of the original band members.
Shout out to Mama Shon 🤗
Free Bird Live at The Oakland Coliseum. WOW what a guitar solo.

Freebird is the hands-down no-brainer choice if you want to react to a live Lynyrd Skynyrd. The 7/2/1977 show in Oakland is one of the best live rock performances of all-time of any band.
But the 76 Knebworth Free Bird is just a little bit better cause Allen goes off.

Freebird live a complete 180 from the studio version you'll love it
I was born almost a year from this concert. 7/1/78 ❤

Avenged Sevenfold - hail to the king
