- I bought the Mercedes, but find out why I did with this car comparison review of Mercedes vs BMW vs Audi with some of their top series of cars. We will talk through the BMW vs Audi vs Mercedes reliability, engine, transmissions, luxury, exterior, interior, ownership costs and more as I walk through these three luxury cars and how I made my decision.

GLK350 owner here. I approve!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I recently met a friend whom I have not seen in months. He spent the first few minutes looking at the big three pointed star before even looking at me!!!!!!!!

We have had a 190E (1986), E320 (2014), C300 (2008), BMW 4 (can't recall the year, 2008, maybe), 2014 BMW 328i. No Audis, but a 2019 Passat. We never owned these cars past warranty, but the electrical problems in the Benz and suspension issue in one of the BMW's would have been a fortune to repair. 2007 Jag XKR and a 2008 S-Type. Dealer could never find cause for front end vibration in the XKR. Enjoyed these cars and most issues covered under warranty (the '86 was a knock-around, hobby project along with a '69 RR Silver Shadow and 67 Bentley T-Type, a '65 Cadillac). Now, as older people, we have two Toyotas; 2022 Tacoma and 2023 Rav4. Not in the same class, but reliability is now on the menu. Time will tell.
And a Craftsman riding mower, too!
We purchased a 2020 MB C300 with the AMG package. We were plagued with multiple electrical gremlins. Display blackouts, not able to shift gears, random power window issues, and braking chattering. The final gremlin left us stranded in the HOV lane on Hwy 101 in Scottsdale, AZ. A complete power outage with the car with less than 500 miles on the odometer. Yes, it's a great looking car, but enough was enough. Were turned it in under AZ lemon law principles. We purchased a BMW M340i since then, which is my wife's long distance cruiser. She drives to Irvine, CA every 2 weeks to her corporate HQ for meetings, since she now works virtual from Scottsdale, AZ. The BMW 340i has surpassed 70,000 trouble free milage and is officially out of warranty. We bring it to a private BMW, M Benz mechanic for inspections and oil changes. He says everything is "pristine". He says I see a lot of 2018- 2022 MB C300 with a plethora of problems, and that getting rid of it was the right choice" In summary, I tend to gravitate to professional mechanics opinions, VS You Tube influencers. However, I do respect your opinion Mark, as a long term follower. I believe you just are the lucky minority in MB C300 owners.
Buy a new Mercedes, not used

Good observations on those cars, but I wished you had put a Volvo XC 40 in the mix maybe not as flashy but I bet It would hold it's own against the Germans
I had C Class and Audi A5 2.0 252HP and for me it’s offering a better package than C Class …way better interior and infotainment than Mercedes and better materials quality

In my opinion bmw stepped up their game and make better performance cars then both Audi and Benz, I also disagree with him on the transmission aspect. I think Bmw has better transmissions right now.

I do agree with your assessment about those three German Road burners, That Bennz definitely coming out on top for overall appearance 🇺🇸👍 Me way more Conservative rolling my own Gears in a 2020 Civic Sport Sedan None turbo
It's been a Great ride so far 35,000 miles in this Central Wisconsin cold averages around 33.5 MPG drivin pretty hard 😁

Great review on both models! I am a current Audi A5 owner looking for a newer car and torn between the BMW 4 series and the C300 Coupe. Love my 2016 A5 but have had it for 7 years and want something newer. Sadly the new A5 looks almost identical and leaning towards the C300. I love the way both drive and look just not a fan of the BMW interior compared to the Mercedes. Is it me or does the BMW interior look like something in a Japanese car?
That’s sort of what I see too in the newer cars. The older BmWs felt more solid and stood above most others. Not so much anymore

Is a Mercedes C300 from 2020-2022 a good car to buy ?
Great video. I have a 2019 4 series coupe and like that style better than the new design. It looks more inline with the C300 you have. But I find the interiors of Mercedes are not as friendly to bigger people. Love your content!

IMHO the 7 speed dsg is not as reliable as zf and 9g-tronic gearboxes. ZF and 9g both use torque converters, so they are very similar.

Please don’t take me wrong. I wasn’t trying to bash this video. I got the impression that you are answering someone else’s question and I would have told them to watch your videos and that question would have been answered. You mentioned Audi many times. When you sold your last BMW, you talked about your feelings about BMW and. Of course the Mercedes was answered when you bought it. If I were going to ask that question, ideally, I would ask your wife why she chose Mercedes, you also answered that too with my question. Your views as always is fascinating. The why not BMW or Audi, I would say that you have answered that in previous videos

What do you think of Genesis? I am not planning to ever get one, The reason for asking is because someone you were responding to was saying that they were considering buying one and you didn’t try to discourage it. The reason I feel that you could is because unless I got wrong information, Genesis is a Hyundai product. I know nothing about Genesis. I have read a lot about Hyundai, the problems with their cars and I can imagine if Genesis is a product of Hyundai, the engine failures, the quality issues would carry over with Genesis as well. Beside the point but Incidentally I learned that Subaru is having problems with the engines failing as well, rings, piston issues and in new cars. My niece got a Hyundai. Her husband bought it for her and I was very happy to hear his heart was in the right place but the car is junk and I out right told her so. She was offended but I would much rather be honest and risk briefly hurting her feelings than hear she was walking because the motor failed or caught on fire. I told her I was not going to sugarcoat the situation, if I tell her the truth, she could potentially trade it in quickly before anything happens, if I don’t, she will find out the hard way. If she doesn’t now, she’ll wish she had listened to her Uncle Ralph.
I guess my point is that if you know that a car has been known for major issues, I would recommend that you point it out and say how you feel about that particular car because at least people can take your view in consideration. If they don’t follow it and they get stuck, you will find that you are suddenly much more appreciated by them later. You are not putting people down by discussing failures in the vehicles and you are a very pleasant person so I don’t see it getting taken out of context. Maybe Genesis is a better vehicle??? I don’t know. I thought that was odd that you seemed to approve versus discourage that type of vehicle.
I know that some choose to bite their tongue to avoid hurting others feelings. I rely on you to be honest, if that’s the right word, forward?? Upfront, Open with your views and research so people can get the information. How a person decides to use it, take it into account or disregard it, that is up to them but it’s good to at least put it out there and you naturally do explain yourself. I do my homework before I buy a vehicle so I don’t have to worry about you hurting my feelings by calling my vehicle junk, if I got one, I know. I have a 2013 f150 5.0. The reputation is pretty good with these. This truck has treated me very well so far, I put a lot of miles on it for work. It’s very hard to find a good reliable vehicle that won’t nickel and dime you with serious complications
Appreciate all the research you out in and share with us . I left BMW and bought an Audi S4 Premium premier plus and I Love it … with low inventory at the beginning of last year I could not find an BMW M … I’m

It is not a good comparison in terms of pictures. You are showing latest Bmw and Audi models whereas yours it is not even the facelifted one…people will get deceived by the looks!
My tiguan allspace mechatronics took 3 months to fix, and it broke down after four months of use.
Sold it for a lexus NX, 2 years still going strong lmao.
Seriously asking though why are germans luxuries so horrible in their build qualities, I don't expect to buy a rather expensive luxury cars just for it to break down in the middle of the road because some sensors went janky.
Ironically the car was regularly maintained and serviced as well... used to drive american ford endeavour before the tiguan.

BMW 4 has better quality wise interior and exterior, since the newest model with better engine and as overall package is better then older other two models. Since you are owner of that C coupe this review is totally subjective!! Good buy and continue dreaming that yours Merc is the best of those three.
I was looking between all 3 brands last year but for the money I went with a Acura TLX type s seemed the most all around car in the 50-55k range

I also live in the cold weather climate of Edmonton. I also recently went through the buying process of a car for my wife. She wanted a convertible so our choices were limited. Tried hard to buy a MB. Not a fan of the C class (interior) but love the E. In the end could not deal with either of the two MB dealerships in Edmonton as both were arrogant and caught both lying about cars history. If sales was that difficult I cannot imagine how service would be like.
Ended up with buying a 2023 M440i xdrive convertible. I know the front takes getting used to. With the black out package its better and you never see the front end while driving. Way more power than my wife wanted but that inline 6 is wonderful. So far very happy but if we were looking for a sedan, would have bought a Genesis!
Great choice that b58 is a hot little engine and that is a fun car to drive for sure
I personally like the bold yet very clean styling look of the Mercedes. Many other auto manufacturers are going for the. " trying " look. Or the " over emphasis " look.

@ExoticCar PlayPlace ExoticCar PlayPlace, the more you keep showing me your personal Mercedes Benz. The more I become a person. Who is now compelled to purchase one or myself. Then there are the other models. But your is more for the personal experience. Vs show and or impress size and design.
The fact that Mercedes makes lifetime engines
All three looks great. If i bought a Mercedes, i would have to have the huge screen updated interior. That being said, I’m a F30 335I BMW owner and I believe the F32 was the best looking coupe exterior wise(outside of 911, lotus Emira yet to come and those sweet AMGs) and F30/80 is the best looking sedan followed closely by the W205. If i were rich id have my F30, W205, AMG GT 4-door, convertible F32 or C Class with undated interior and a 911 turbo S. Then some classics to go with my project 70s coupe deville, Chevy suburban Z71, OBS Silverado z71 and police interceptor P71 Crown Vic. Some say i have too many vehicles, but I don’t think i have enough yet. Harley Davidson Street Glide coming soon and eventually a Dually diesel truck dodge, Chevy or ford doesn’t really matter as long as it’s reliable.
Some really great points you raise and I agree the f32 is still analog enough a classic enough look to make it interesting

I think you answered this with many of your videos. You don’t seem to be a fan of Audi and you seem to have lost personal interest in BMW since your last one. when you introduced the Mercedes pointed out that it was for your wifes and I am sure you would have gotten her a BMW or Audi if that was what she had one in mind that she wanted. My only question is that Dodge Ram. You don’t personally favor them because of quality issues. I suspected that it could belong to another family member who is living with you because you don’t seem to be in a position to just settle. Of course it is none of my business. Just for someone who is doing well for himself wouldn’t typically settle for a vehicle that doesn’t meet their personal standards. I don’t disagree with you though, the transmission and the motor has been an issue in Chrysler products. I personally have owned many. I find the seats comfortable, I like the ride where say Toyota is not very comfortable. Chrysler is not something that I would recommend to someone but if I were to tell you what I personally like about them, I would tell you that I spend a lot of time in the seats and Chrysler does make their vehicles comfortable

I also happen to own a Lexus too. However, not to brag; but there is nothing wrong with indulging in splashing some extra cash and treating yourself, (BMW, Audi or Mercedes) when you have the means to do so. After all, life is for living. God speed!
The interior of the bmw looks better of that benz and also the grill of the bmw suits the car pending package and exterior color. The big grill is here to stay and it’s grown on the car!!! And I think it looks more aggressive compared of the two, with that been said along with reliability and performance with the b58 engine BMW takes the crown 👑 hands down ✊️.

All seem $10k overpriced. A mid level Camry or Accord are better cars for better value. These lower level models do not have the quality or panache of the premium levels like the E class.
Plus, getting the B58 is a great stretch.
I’m not fan of German cars but if I had to. The Benz C class is way better than BMW 4 series
I own an Avalon and a Lexus ES No problems at all . None, nada, zip. The cars from the Fatherland are all show and no substance. Just like Paris Hilton and Uncle Joe.

All due respect Sir you owned a BMW E60 M5 very unreliable another E92 335 another unreliable. Well you haven’t own any recent BMW from the year 2016 and up I currently own a 2016 bmw 330 x drive with the B48 and a 2019 BMW X4 M competition with the S58 since 2016 to this day I never have any problems at all with my cars. Your decision wasn’t the best after all to get a C300 Mercedes but you’re spending your money on what’s you like 👍🏽
Both of my cars have extended Marino red Leather seats and dashboard with stitching and head up display very very nice interior please check one out

Mercedes; never the same after amalgamation with Chrysler in 2000 and now a car for the masses.
Audi a an over priced Volkswagen as on the same floor plans, same engines, same gearboxes, suspension and brakes as Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda cars.
I have seen Benz at their worst as I owned one back at the turn of the Millenium, it there have been some improvement since then

It comes down to your own personal taste. Can't go wrong with either the C Klasse or the 3 series. Both are amazing German sport luxury sedans. I would never buy an Audi as I hate the whole VW group and think that Audis are just tarted up Skodas, lol. But yeah, I drive a 2013 C Klasse AMG and really can't imagine ever going back to another car brand!

German cars went down for quality and reliability (due to over complicated electronics) from about 2004 and Mercedes from 2000.
As the buyer of cars for companies, I now only look at Lexus/Toyota and Mazda and Honda.
Cars are becoming and will be less relevant in the future especially with all the Environmental, Social Governance agenda.

interesting choice but for daily glider i guess, myself ill never buy a 2 door car again only pass would be a porsche or maybe a m3 but even m3 id pref to have 4 door.
