Thanks for watching as always guys ♥️ What would you buy for £40k brand new? Do you like my new logo?
Love the logo 👍🏻
Logo looks great fella! For 40k with some change I’d go with a new gen FK8 Honda Civic Type R but I’m biased haha 😆
Haha yeah definitely more bang for your bucks 👌
Cheers Christian 🙏
Rather spend 40k on a 1 year old m2 comp
I'm very jealous. I know I'm in the minority but I love the silhouette/aesthetics of the 4 since I first saw it. 👌
me too broo u aren’t alone
Me too. Would love to buy one.🤞
Me tooooo 😩
‘You either love it or hate it. I really like it’
I really hate it
@@marieaudreyduchamp8839 I was quoting big Joe. I think it’ll grow on me. The new 1 series has started to.
Nice to see your channel growing.....You deserve all the success. I watch from Palm Springs, California. Cheers.
Thank you Patrick! Wish I was in Palm springs 😉👌♥️
I had regular use of a 318i in the early 2000s and remember it as a lovely car. Not fast in a straight line but the handling was better than many sports cars I've driven. Fantastic balance.
Thank you! I appreciate the information and your format is very good. I like the 4 series, close to pulling the trigger on 1 of these.
Great review Joe. You’re always very objective and honest. Keep up the good work.
Gotta say that grill has grown on me now...good looking coupe 👌🏻
Good to hear 👊
Same! I’d love one
i think it depends on the color of the car how much I'd hate that grille
I love it Joe, it's nice to see road tests on standard cars for a change!
Saw one of these at my office car park...still not a fan of how it looks. But, thanks for sharing your thoughts about how it drives as well as the steering.
Theres a Company called Avembra, you can look them up on Instagram, they are making a replacement front and it honestly makes it look amazing.
Personally i love the look of the new front end. BMW have made a huge talking point out of it and i think its brilliant
Your garage is stacked! I'm eagerly waiting for your collection video of the M3C, hopefully not too long off now haha
Enjoyed the video, like the car, you almost made me think I should stop always wanting the high end version of a car!
I bought the 430I 2022 coupe.. I love it!
After work feels great coming back home!
Nice, chill, relaxing cruiser… The Grill looks great!
I’ve got this exact car arriving next week. Part of me wished I had the 440i. But I do a lot of driving for work, so this video really has reassured me I made the right decision and I’ll enjoy this car! As I do a lot of long haul driving so I think overall it’s going to be a much more comfortable experience.
loving the new logo Joe👊...super vid mate👌
Thanks buddy appreciate the support man, hope you're well! 👊
Great video and review as usual Joe, looking forward to more content on this new 4 series
Congratulations man
Thank you 👊
Nice review! I like the adequate power , it’s enough to enjoy the car without breaking the speed law and rear wheel drive gives you a sense of enjoyment.
Thanks buddy, totally agree!
I really like this 👏 BMW are doing themselves proud on their recent interiors, how times have changed in the last few years 😂.
Joe, I love this colour combination and the 19" alloys just makes it look perfect, for my eyes, anyway. I find it hard to believe that you're only doing 60 mph in some of those drive by clips, but we'll just keep quiet about it. LOL! Personally, I love the looks of this new 4 series Coupe, front end, included!
I like the exterior and interior looks but cor blimey love that paint!
Cover everything mate!! The car looks brilliant. Take it for one of those long trips.
I can’t believe it look gorgeous with its body lines and how light moves!! 😍😍
Fantastic video Joe as always!
You're lucky to have this for 3 months Joe! BMW (like all of us) obviously love your content, and love of BMW! Well done!
Thank you buddy, yeah BMW UK are great and see the benefit for both sides. Hope you're well mate 👌
@@JoeAchilles1 Most definitely. All good down under. Thanks for sharing your amazing videos as always. Stay safe.
Front styling is great. Like that paint colour as well.
Looks great Joe, looking forward to seeing more
Great car Joe enjoyed your video like the colour and the leather nice combination worth the extra looking forward to your next video mate
Very good video Joe, one lesson that i have learn with the cars i have had, power is not everything. The weight, the fact that is not all wheel drive, the chassis and handling. And sometimes people like us cars fanatics :) we want always more power.
Excellent look forward to the vids on this bad boy. 👍👍
Another amazing video!
Logo is excellent
I have the G20 320i and I love it. Whilst a know the M340i is perfection. I think for every day usage the 20i more than suits the car. Good fuel economy too, 400-450 miles out of a tank is what I’ve been getting
Looks great
I would really like to see an in-depth video of the infotainmaint and digital cockpit functions and deep menus, as well as backseat test for few hundred miles , as many people will be thorn between 4 and 3 series. Keep up the good work mate! 🙏🏻
Great review as always 👍🏻
Thanks Joe👍🏼
great video, I love that colour
You do the best car reviews ever.
Got my g21 m340i remapped stage one. Seriously insane shove from it now. What an engine.
Nice video Joe 👌 always enjoy your videos buddy. Looking forward to you going full time on UA-cam if it’s viable for you and pumping out regular content
I had the same car just black leather from bmw Hailsham when my m135i went in for service work’ loved the car
Great review 👌
Good to see a base engines instead of all these 3.0 or m cars all the time! Great content 👍
Such an amazing car, rented it off Sixt for a week trip in the dolomites, curvy Italian roads, was perfect driving experience.
Hey Joe Achilles, would be nice to see how those parkin assistents works in that car.
For the reverse assistant that remembers the last 50 metres, go back and a look at Joe's press trip for the BMW 8 Series. He featured that system and neck breaking launch control with Stef ABtv
Those parkin assistents are handy things I hear
I have it on my 3 series and it does work well. Always a bit nervous as it does everything. On my previous Audi you did the gear changes and accelerator / brake. It does it well though although i tend to use it occasionally to parallel park if I’m being a bit lazy.
Wow! Joe - I really wish I had your job. Thats one of my favorite machines!
Great video Joe and some fantastic points. I guess it raises a great point. Why do we tend to relate speed and power to a great driving car? Surely the most important thing is how a car handles and how rewarding it is to drive. Yes speed is fun, but you get used to it and then you’re often just left with a dull car that goes fast! I also like how the car doesn’t make you want to rag it and you can just relax and drive it (unlike say an M car). I find the same in my M340i. Sure you can have fun in it and go fast, but it’s also nice to just cruise around in and is a very relaxing place to be. That is quite different to the M lites I’d say. I always felt that my M135i wanted me to rag it lol.
You see once these 3 & 4 series get the M Sport treatment then grille just looks perfect ! Didn’t get it at first but now it just looks a beast
Love your review Jo. Thinking of upgrading to 420i in Australia for my next car. That's enough power for me and I don't need adaptive dampers. Actually love the arctic racing blue with oyster leather like your press car.😀
The wind noise at 70mph in my M440i for me is bothersome. Otherwise I’m loving it. You’re right, it just wants to go!
Looks really good Joe 👍
I enjoyed watching the Video. My favourite BMW Coupe
Just took delivery of my M340i in Spain. It has San Marino Individual Blue Metalic Paint at 6000 euro. Carbon Fiber Factory fitted roof at 3300 euro. Fiona red full dash and seats Merino leather at 4800. Carbon fiber diffuser side skirts and interior carbon mouldings with m performance leather and alcantera steering wheel at 5500 euro. I also specked HARMEN KARDEN AND A WHOLE LOT MORE. 225 FRONT AND 255 back Michelin NON RUN FLAT TYRES. Thank you Joe for your advise. I had run flats on my previous x3 m40i and the difference in comfort is like night and day. Run flats are KING
I also went for many of the mod cons. Total price just shy of 90,000 euro. The non run flas are so comfortable and i have to thank you for that Joe.
I really can't understand why I would swap my e92 335i (N54) which costs me zero per month to own for a 40-50k bill for a base model. I have rwd, 340 bhp and 500nm with a 0-60 of around 4.5 seconds that would just leave this standing and Im sure is more fun to drive. I have memory seats which are largely the same, cruise control and all that good stuff, and an older but still similar looking interior. As nice as a new car would be, I can't justify putting another new car on the road and getting rid of mine at these prices. The cost of some of these new motors is just too much IMO, and I even prefer the looks of the e92. Id have to get an M440i to put my old car in its place (and performance wouldnt be all that much different Im sure) and they can be getting on for 60k now, bonkers.
I recently traded in my Volvo V40 for a 420dx GT and very happy with it. PROS: Solid car and great brakes. Enough power in sport mode to push you back into the seat. In eco mode gas mileage is just over 40 mpg and it's a very comfortable ride (I live and work in a moutainous rural area). I have the brushed aluminum interior and the M sports seats, no regrets. CONS: My wife and teenage daughter complain that the back seat is too upright to be comfortable on long rides. The heater takes about 10 minutes to make a difference on cold mornings compared to the Volvo that did it in 5. I would like to have fog and cornering lights to see the edge of curvy mountain roads at night.
Joe, love the front end! A question: does the suspension most compare to the 3 series or the 5-series?
I love the look of this car, and also the colour combination. Does it have Apple CarPlay? The new logo looks great Joe.
I love gesture control, very handy... Volume can be a bit tricky, bit I'd def pay for it 😜
Great vid 👍🏻
Nice color!
Lovely spec - enjoy 😉 they look much better on road than in pictures yet I’d go for 220i in 2 door form if had to shop a BMW :)
Crazy prices at the moment, I test drove a 420i last week, £45000, I currently have a 2017 420i with around £10000 to pay off, but given the car is worth around £17500 private I won't be buying, 4 years ago I bought my 420i for £24000, 9 months old 3500 miles, lots of options were on it. Current prices are just way too high, they tried to tell me it is a shortage but I get the feeling dealers are just hiking prices to make up for covid.
Good review makes total sense
What a lovely car to compliment the fleet! Really liking the colour 👌🏻
So soo nice!!
Nice looking motor👌🏻
I drive an pld model (2018)430D MSport and bought it for the looks over a 3. Front end of this car is diabolical! Lovely interior i am sure, but think my next will be a 3 series M340d touring, which looks better from all angles. Thanks for the review Joe, I just can't agree with the comments on front end looks, but each to their own. PS, old school and won't be going for the driver asiistance stuff
For the piano black parts inside the car the company XPEL now have pre-cuts to apply on these areas which will help to avoid the scratches and fingerprints, also easier to have clean. :)
Love the video Joe! And the logo is sick, I know you sort of touched on it but how does it compare to the m440i you had a while ago considering the price difference? Always love your content bro 🙌
Good point about the engine. Of course, more power is always better but the average driver who uses his/her car for daily commutes on congested roads doesn't really need it or maybe doesn't even want it. Yet they get a car that looks sporty and with decent enough performance to provide a little bit of excitement.
Love that colour. I think one of these with the power outputs of the M135i would be interesting.
I feel like I need to apologise to Joe. I was the knob that drove past in the CLK 4 times while you were trying to film your intro 😶
😂😂😂😂 Amazing! It's not the most idea place to film, but after moving recently I've struggled to find anywhere... I remember you, silver one with AMG wheels? 👌
@@JoeAchilles1 haha, yeah that was me. Sorry 😂 usually find Harry Metcalfe filming on that road
@@olivergraham8649 Thats weird as I was thinking it looks alot like where Harry drives! Joe lives in the Cotswolds?
@@PixelVogue Yeah the exact same road that Harry uses for all his videos. It’s usually a fairly under-used road to be honest, considering how nice it is to drive, which was why I was surprised to see Joe. Although saying that, this area’s becoming a hub of activity for the automotive world. I regularly see JWW’s GT3 at Bicester heritage, which makes sense as that’s where ‘The Bunker’ is. Though I’ve never actually seen him
@@JoeAchilles1 you’ve moved from Denham? Will miss seeing your M2 Comp around but glad won’t have to make my eyes suffer looking at that 4 series front end 😂
Nice honest review as always Joe, the car is probably aimed at a comfortable family sized market for those people who don’t necessarily want to go flat out everywhere, we will see how you get on in the coming months. Too rich for my blood though!!!👍👍👍
Nice touch 👌 with the LOGO at the bottom left of the Screen Joe
New signature logo (bottom left) for the channel, very nice.
I might have missed it, but I wished the torque figure was given without going to the YesAuto video. Got the power later on in the video though.
Would it be possible to have the o-100 km/h tested with the V-Box in a future video?
As the 6 cylinder cars only come with x drive and based on your observations of the handling, it’s seems as though a 430i with the m sport diff would be the sharpest driving car excluding the M4... interesting. Top video as always Joe.
Congratulations with great car 👍👍👍
I think you should do a practically video and a super long trip in the car, if yu could then do something with this car like you did with the 7 series
40,000 pounds is cheap compared to Australian prices. We are hit with luxury car tax on top of GST which will be far more drive away price than the UK drive away price will be. Our 911 s drive away price is roughly $350,000 which is roughly 175,000 pounds, that’s why I have an M2 comp lol.
New BM looks really great mate.
SUBSCRIBED: Loving this 4 series content recently especially the M4 you’ve done today.
Driven the 4 series coupe for the last 4 years and I absolutely love it!
Maybe it’s time to trade in for the new version.🤔
Just got my new 420i - loving it & the grill grows on you. I agree with your initial responses. BUT I hate the lane assist/steering intervention. Though you can disable it, the display re-enables it next time the car is driven. Can you turn it off permanently?
Hey Joe great video! I love the new 4 series, I disliked at first now it has grown on me (looks wise). Few questions because it a base 4 series does this come with runflats?, I doubt this has Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres. Continuing the theme of performance, what is like to drive quickly on your favourite road. Also it great to see your partnership with Yes Auto is continuing.
Genesis G70 for me. Astonishing vehicle and will be in the UK shortly. And seriously quick with no plastic to be seen!
Interesting, keen to try one!
U can get interior ceramics that can protect piano black. Also a bit of polish applied liberally will get light scratches out. 🧑🚀👍
I must say I enjoy your videos and jealous you have the privilege to drive bmws. I own 2011 3 series tourer and love it. Want the new diesel tourer you reviewed. Will take time to save up lol.
Great video. I’m always interested as to how you set the seat up. I’m only 5’’8 but seem to find the seat isn’t low enough as my height is mostly above the waist so eye level is quite high on the windscreen. If lean seat back feel I’m reaching the pedal. Weird
Cant wait to get rid of my c class coupe after nothing but problems from new and get back to a Beamer and this looks the business 😃
Great new logo Joe 👌
Love the look of this 4 series, don’t think I could part with 40k for one though. Would rather buy an f80 m3 😬 another great video 👍 keep up the amazing work.
Really liking the look of the 4 series now especially the m440i, proper sports car like a baby 911
Hi Joe liking the logo not sure about the car bmw has a habit of putting the choice goodies that you want in with the stuff you don't really need or use .
Haha thanks man, the logo is most important to me 🤣
I race the M4 GTR on Iracing and in race livery with the carbon and big wing it looks amazing, even the grill looks great when it's a race car, starting to grow on me in reality too
Hi Joe I still prefer the 4 door, how long before the M3 lands
The car looks gorgeous in this blue colour, and the kidney grille is not as bad as I previously thought.
Agree 👍
It’s because it doesn’t have a number plate in the press shots
the grille is horrible only on M-cars IMO. on non M-car is pretty fine
ive seen it in person several times now. Gets worse everytime i look at it
Really like this car the shape of it just ticks every box for me , performance wise maybe the engine could use an extra 40-50 hp and i think it would be sweet but all round really love this car joe
Hi Joe! Nice video. How do you rate the ride comfort compaired to the old one?
My Dad loves his new 320i, thinks it's brilliant!
Absolutely love it. But then, I like the X7 too.
After 3 months it would be nice to hear your take on what its like to drive on a daily basis, fuel economy etc. Does it make you look back at it in carpark as you walking away. And how much attention does it get from people in general and is it positive or negative. Hope you enjoy the car. And safe travels.
