My first German car was a brand new 2001 VW Passat; Made in Germany. I had that car for one year and was in the shop 13 times. Three times for the Mass Airflow Sensor, One time for the radio not working, Two times for the Climatronic failing, One time for the T handle hood release coming off when I tried to open the hood. One time for the headliner coming off (No doubt bad installation after fixing the faulty radio antenna earlier). Two times for the plastic wheel bolt covers cracking and falling off. Two times for the EGR valve failing and the last time was for flickering headlights due to a faulty alternator. People told me that VW aka V-DUD isn't a real German car. Get a Mercedes. I looked around and bought a Mercedes E500. In the first year, I went back to the dealer because the rear windows would not roll down. I only rolled those windows down about two times before they failed. Then, while grocery shopping, I put the gorceries in the trunk and went home. Guess what. The trunk latch is electric and it failed. It failed so bad that the key wouldn't even open it because the electric motor driving the lock failed and there is no override. GREAT GERMAN ENGINEERING! I went to drop the back seats to get the gorceries out but guess what, apparently folding rear seats are optional on a $60k Mercedes but standard on a $15k Corolla an my E500 didn't have the folding seat so I had to pull the groceries through the tiny rear armrest trunk access. German cars? NEVER AGAIN. I've only ever purchased Japanese cars ever since.

Almost every vehicle manufactured today is thinner and cheaper than years past. Cost cutting has led to more plastic and thin body panels. I remember when cars were built like tanks. Porsche is the exception but you pay the high ticket price for that ride.
Great point! However I will say Porsche too has become a little too plasticky in places that matter. Still likely the best of the premium brands for durability
My work colleague worked at the QA dept of BMW in Munich, let’s just say he left due to the problems he saw, pointed out, but nothing was done about it. Be careful of the high performance cars, you’ll be paying for it as they’ll take no responsibility
I've driven my BMW X4 all over Thailand for the last 5 years! 122,000KM and still no issues! Great car, good COG. I regularly service the car and additionally change engine coolant! No complaints so far--here's to hoping!!!
I used to work at customer experience at a BMW dealership. I was amazed by how much mistreatment the customers would take without complaining. If customers wouldn't accept their crap these makers would actually do something to improve reliability, but people keep buying their crap.
Is the reliability conclusion based on the banging on the body panels and fiddling with the various interior pieces? Component fitment is a factor but when I think reliability, I'm more so concerned about the engine's internals, water pump, oil pump and timing system. Everything else is fairly modular to replace.
Great video as always. Just a general opinion: HOW YOU TREAT ( how responsible you are ) YOUR CAR is more important than how much your car can take. Some cars can be more expensive to maintain than others, but ... does it matter if you are prepared for it? It all depends on whether you really value your car and your investment. I know people who own cars that are known to have not-so-great reliability and have been using them for years and still look brand new and have no issues at all. BUY WHAT YOU LIKE AND BE RESPONSIBLE WITH IT. There is no such thing as a perfect car, there is a perfect one for each type of driver.
Then there is the 70s 80s 90s benz turbo diesels. A Perfect car w124 w123 w201 w210 ive owned om606's om617s om engines in general and they truly are great, the latter is at great performance losses lol but its all what you want. Truly they dont build them like this anymore. Ive been a mechanic since 1999 and i can say mercedes can be bad sometimes but the bmws seem to have much more faults in very critical areas.
Great vid-but remember, German cars in general are build to fail ( planned obsolescence). Days of Merc build like tanks are gone, and the strategic alliance of BMW & Toyota will improve BMW in reliability focus
We are BMW enthusiasts forever, no matter what anyone says. Why? Because we take care of our own cars, work on our own cars. Leave the dealer to beaver. Not us. For us again no matter what they say BMW The ultimate driving machine for more than 23 years. Love your channel Sr.
I hate going near the BMW 'screw you' ( service people) ! They just 'make you have it'! Do all my servicing at a local independent service center. Family run and honest! That's a good find for me!
I've had multiple BMWs and MBZs. I pick MBZ for reliability and dependability, BMW's more fun to drive. Avoid turbo's at all costs. Also, I do not count the MBZ C class or the 1 and 2 series BMW's being the real thing. If made in America - particularly Alabama, most are lesser quality from USA production facilities. Both mfg's want to get you into their model lineup with introductory series that are made just as cheaply as GM, Ford, and Stellantis.
@@mackdolo230Everyone says the E-class is the best option when buying a Mercedes without breaking the bank. I’m currently in the market for a 2019 E300 or 2020 E350.
My 20+ year old E46 (bought brand new) only went to the garbage recently because a family member crashed it. Otherwise that car was built like a tank and was frequently abused during its lifetime. I’m now driving a fully loaded electric iX 50 (paid in cash) and I can tell a lot of care went into putting this car together. No issues so far and I had the whole car wrapped in PPF just to make it that much more resilient to the elements.
Way too many negative people here. I’m not surprised, it’s the internet. This video can be about puppies and you people will probably make some random bad comment. Are you guys okay? What’s lacking? Min 2:06 JDM Ranks Honda at #5 and BMW #3, ha... that is a joke, I've owned both and Honda will destroy a BMW any BMW in reliability, BMW is Junk at 120K miles while Honda can easy do 200K miles. Just a comment on my experience. ( I love this channel by the way!, great content)
The thing about bmws is they generally break less often than mercs in the first 5 years, but once they do the spareparts are usually pricier and of lower quality than mercs.
I’m got a 328i, f30. 2013.N20 engine! 150mil km (93750 mile#), 0(zero) problem. Only maintenance, oil, sparks, filters…BMW excellent. No chain noise yet, no licking oil or coolant, turbo ok.
Great video! BMW strayed too far from their roots after the e46 and e90 platform. E46 being the pinnacle in my opinion. Other than the 4cyl AMG products, MB has been more consistent. Isn't the C class more upscale than the 2 series though?
Great analysis, as always! Very detailed and informative. Given, arguably, a similar comparison, I think that the Benz is a far more attractive car. Beautiful, to all of your points. However, BMW has (shockingly) stepped up in the reliability game. And you do a nice job of pointing it out. But the Mercedes is so beautiful.
Great point Thomas. I think the Benz has the best looking cars right now in the German luxury game pretty much in all segments, however the BMW's do seem to hold up a bit better and time will tell on the B58 and B48 reliability. So far, so good.
I have an old merc c230k from 1997..its done over 300000 miles.still runs fine..a few small issues but nothing that stops the car running..i wonder how many new mercs will do that mileage..
Mercedes Benz today is not the same company I invested in when I bought stock in the late 70’s. The slide began when Juergen Schrempp became chairman and then the merger (purchase?) of Chrysler. Before that cars were built to a standard and after Schrempp they were built to a price point. The new company (Mercedes Benz Automobile group) under the new CEO has no interest in producing ICE cars, only Electrics. 😢
@vintagehaynesflute: I AGREE WITH YOU 1000%! MERCEDES IS NOT BUILT TODAY FOR LONG-LASTING RELIABILITY…! I OWNED A W116 280SE IN 1979…THEY WERE BUILT TO LAST RIGHT DOWN TO THE DOOR HANDLE…TODAYS MERCEDES ARE ONLY BUILT TO COMPETE WITH FINANCIAL MARGINS! THEY CUT A LOT OF CORNERS! CONCERNED ABOUT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ELECTRONICS THAT DOESN’T LAST & IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO UPKEEP ALONG WITH MASS-PRODUCED TANGIBLE SUBPAR MATERIALS! THAT BEING SAID, I STILL PREFER MERCEDES OVER BMW!
The thing I've learnt with BMW is that it's the cheapest to fix and probably the most reliable as an overall brand than Mercedes and Audi and most other European brands. Even BMW's worst engines like the n20, n47 are far better than the Renault engines in low trim Mercedes. I have an 3 series N47 with 150k miles and it's better than my family members 2 low mileage B classes which kept having problems. I have a 2000 325ci with 150k and it's far better. As for Audi, My Dad's A3 cost £800 for an egr valve, my BMW was £60 labour plus my part for the same or I could do it myself. That audi repair cost would get me a new timing chain on my n47. The engine compartments are must larger on BMW compared to Audi so they're easier to work on
The MB looks fantastic. The 2 series of BMW are not of my liking at all. However the 3 series is the car the MB C should be compared with. I haven't looked into neither car recently but both look sublime. Which one is better would be nice to know.
He compared these two because the engine is the same. It’s about reliability. I just test drive both and BMW was fun but Mercedes was just perfect. I have no clue what to choose…probably the Mercedes. I would lease the BMW but buy the Mercedes. They have a 2023 with 10,000 miles for a steal so that’s my jam.
I have had BMWs for over 25 years and all have been very reliable. Current one is the E89 N52 3.0 14 years old I have had it for the past 4 years and not spent a penny on it apart from oil filter changes and brakes pads. Proves even 10 year plus BMWs can be reliable as with any other brand BMW have had some drivetrains that can be troublesome but on the whole they’ve never been that bad. The new generation since about 2015 which are now 8 years old and have had enough time to prove their worth shows that they are pretty robust!
@joebloggs4191 Let me guess. You either had a na v6 1990s to early 200s 3 series or you replaced everything in the car for it to last 300k miles. Or you are a liar.
@@troytruong8246 Wrong on all counts and a V6? Shows what you know about BMWs! Anyway almost all cars are going to give you some sort of problems if you starting hitting 150k and above. Most people are not running around in cars this old or with this much mileage! Furthermore I have owned Japanese cars that required major work well before 100K miles too just as an example, Mk 4 Supra Turbo big end bearings (and this model is known for head gaskets blowing!), Toyota Avensis - Gearbox, Honda Civic - gearbox, Toyota Corolla which we owned from new head gasket and the list goes on. Cars are mechanical so no matter which brand you buy expect to fix them! By the way I used to own a used car lot and have experience of all German and Japanese car brands.
He continues to torture himself with these unreliable cars to this day lol! Mark drives German cars even know they're supposed to be crap, so what does that itell you?
@@8MunchenBayern8 Reliability is part of it. Things like the gas cap and cheap plastic are problems that shouldn't exist in luxury cars. Mercedes loves cheap plastic even in engine parts that break. BMW is going the other way. Toyota and Lexus use far less except in the cabin

That said about both Continentals, I still prefer Lexus for its fit, finish, and reliable engine/trans. Nothing beats Japanese quality in luxury brands.
I Drive a 2011 Hyundai Elantra GLS and it has advantages over a Honda Accord and a Toyota Camry. Number one it has a twin cam engine, which is much better than a single cam engine. Number two it has a dual clutch transmission so I can upshifting downshift on mountain roads and curves, when both Honda Accord and Camry have a POSCVT transmission and single cam engines I have 140,000 km on the car and it’s 12 years old. I have had no mechanical issues with the engine valves transmission water pump fuel pump radiator absolutely nothing. I have to change some tire rods going to the suspension. I have change the shock absorbers, and I have change the motor mounts. I don’t know if this needed to be done, but I did it. Japan is not nearly as progressive as Korea. LG makes incredible TVs refrigerators and washer and dryer’s. Samsung another great Korean company.! Toyota, Nissan, and Honda are going bankrupt. They have billions and billions and billions in debt. Japan is not what it used to be. Long live Tesla.
you keep mentioning the 'French engines ' in Mercedes. The Renault sourced engine was only used in Europe and they were mainly small displacement diesel engines for the A and B class cars. The only C class that got a Renault engine is the C200d which never came to North America. Renault engines were a 1.3, and 1.5 & 1.6 diesel.

Hi I believe your car carries the n20 engine which has had a little bit of a history of some troubles. The 2.0L turbo in your car was updated in later versions and most people who have the end of the run have the more improved timing chains and ramps so there is less likely an issue and most people have great experience with them as they are peppy and economical. The early versions of that n20 engine has had some issues with timing chains, water pumps, T stats, oil filter housing leaks, valve cover leaks, but general maintenance is likely all you need on yours. Stay on top of problems so they don’t get worse.
Great breakdown. I have a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300 Rwd and I’m at 125k miles and my alternator went out. I’ve never had any issues except tires and brakes and oil changes. As well as the Service A and service B (maintenance). Outside of normal maintenance, I’ve never had any issues with it, although MBis trying to claim that I have an “internal oil leak that is leaking to the ECU - engine control unit, which I call BS.” I believe they just want $5,600. 🤷🏽♂️
It might be a real problem, but the stealership still overcharges like crazy. The bi-turbo V8 M278 and M156 are known to leak from the cam sensors and magnets which can cause oil to make its way into and destroy the ECU.
go to couple other shops to check on the issues, if most of the shop reports the same problem you should probably fix it, if dealers are the only one finding the problem we all know the car is fine
im not too sure about Mercedes Ive only owned 1.. but owning multiple BMWs. Id say both both are for people who owns a complete set of Metric wrenches. If you're aren't willing to work on your own vehicles, you risk the chance of running into that mechanic who is going to try to milk you. Also these cars require authentic replacement parts.
I am the proud owner of a BMW 430i Gran Coupe LCI, which I acquired here in Switzerland. Notably, my model lacks a particulate filter (OPF) and had 92,000 kilometers on the odometer at the time of purchase. Just a year later, it's already approaching 138,000 kilometers. This vehicle has thoroughly impressed me with its delightful blend of exhilarating performance and comfort. It's been subjected to extensive use, standing up remarkably well under the demand. After reaching 100,000 kilometers, I opted for a Stage 1 upgrade, adding burble and XHP. The car has been performing flawlessly since. I'm meticulous about maintenance, ensuring an oil change every 15,000 kilometers using only the highest quality oil and fueling exclusively with Shell V-Power. This BMW 430i Gran Coupe LCI is, in my experience, the best all-rounder I've ever had the pleasure of owning. It underlines my belief that a vehicle's reliability is primarily a reflection of one's commitment to its maintenance and care.
A couple of years is still a new car. 10 to 15 even 25 years down the road is where the reliability really shows. To me CR can say BMW is upping there game but on a 2 year term is not proving it to me. Since as you know and I know that plastic is great till the warranty runs out, the shazam $. BMW = Big Money Wallet.
A bunch of young punks here that lease their BMWs, every two years get a Boner owning them. You will never get the longevity of an S class Mercedes or a top-of-the-line Lexus.
@@germanengineering204 the word is out my friend BMW uses too much plastics under the hood where the parts that are plastic are in an extremely hot environment and because of this the car is turned to garbage.
@@germanengineering204 they have improved, but because of BMWs past, they will continue to lose customers! Just like Detroit. I had an X5 I had nothing but problems. Once you get burned by a car company, it is very difficult to go back. I had a Tesla model, three long range and now my daughter is driving it I will always buy another Tesla. I have driven over 1,000,000 miles. In almost every type of high quality car! For years, I kept going back to Mercedes Benz because I’ve had the least problems with them
Owned countless Bimmers thoughout the years I never have had any major problems right now in fact I got 3 sitting in my driveway (650, M5 and a 340) plus I just got a 2024 X5 delivered. Sweet ride. Where I live there is a BMW dealer right next to a MB dealer, Merc's overflowing in the lot they had to lease space from a business next door to keep all the inventory (many EQS’s but that’s another story), BMW can't keep cars on the lot. Merc's are trash, pretty bad when Range Rover has better quality. MB never got over the Chrysler debacle IMHO.
Neither and BMW is a money pit. I know my brother had two X6 SUVs and they were breaking down all the time. Yeah, BMW paid for it under warranty but you had to take it in, get another car (free), wait for the parts, and then the repairs. So, you were inconvenienced by all of this car servicing. Now, I had a 2014 ML350 BlueTEC diesel, loved it until Mercedes agreed via court rulings to fix the emissions problem without a recall. Many problems after that (in the last two years) and about $5,500 out-of-pocket for repairs and maintenance. Traded it in in April and got a Lexus ES300h, Ultra Luxury and am happy as a lark!
Would love to hear your thoughts and experience with BMW hybrid reliability. How much can one expect in costs over the lifetime of the vehicle? Would you recommend buying a used 530e? etc.
I leased a plain 530i (didn’t consider a hybrid for a second) since new, 2018 model. I am pretty amazed by how satisfied I am aboit it, but had my irritations over the years. The rear had a slight camber from the factory, seen from centre tyre wear, there have been issues after some pothole, but I can’t blame BMW for the tiny shudder that comes and goes at higher speeds, an issue that couldn’t be resolved. It looks like new, drives fantastically, but that is keeping in mind I serviced it by the book, at the dealership. I am a fast driver on the motorway (140 kmph in Sweden, and have done several road trips through Germany to Belgium, France, Italy, where I drove the full 200-250kmph. Preferably 210 😀(I’m mainly a nighttime driver). Changing soon for a new 440i, hapoy to get the double of my rest value now, after 5 years and 140k km. I can’t complain, but I spent good cash on maintenance for sure.
One other thing I should add the new Mercedes and particularly their interiors looks nicer and more snazzy than their BMW counterparts but the quality is way better in the BMWs.
But the C class competes with the 3 series, the 2 series may be similar with engine and stuff to the 3 series, but its smaller that the 3 series. Its not as close comparison as if can be.
AMG compared to BMWs M cars AMG always beats BMW in reliability, sound, quality engine parts maybe not performance as much but still a way better car for your money. I checked out about 8 M2 competitions all had oil every where and they only had between 10,000 to 40,000 miles. I wanted one until I found a nice 2020 C63 with 33,000 miles no weird smells or oil leaks drive perfect for $61,000. Can’t go wrong with an AMG.
I am keeping my 340i it has been a gem, I have had zero issues, zero. I am at 99000 miles and it’s built like a tank. I test drove a C-class and I just prefer the performance of the BMW, I’m not ready to be bored yet.
We must say BMWs made in Germany are much better built.. hands down. Naturally aspirated with little problems and hydraulic steering, any other questions. Great, later.
Hi. What do you think about the Mercedes Glb with a 1.3 engine? Will it be a problematic car? the engine is weak, but it has good reviews and I haven't heard of any major failures compared to 2.0
I’m torn between buying the BMW M35i or the Mercedes GLC Coupe 300. I’m looking at reviews but l keep batting between the two. I would be grateful for any opinions.
Well let me put it like that: BMW is a sports car trying to be luxurious MERCEDES is a luxurious car trying to be a sports car Depends what you want from your car
Driving around I have seen way more newer looking bmw’s on the side of the road waiting or getting towed when compared to Mercedes. Maybe the owners of these vehicles treat them differently. Maybe if you drive a bmw to cruise around without driving it like a racing car then the assessment of reliability is pretty spot on.
When I said Mazda was better than Mercedes people laughed. Now when I see a Mercedes that’s literally new that breaks down, I laugh. Meanwhile Mazda just keeps going 😆
I bought a Mazda too! 👍 Sweet ride and far superior than the Kia that it replaced when I made less money when I purchased the Kia. The way it handles and acceleration and feel on my CX-50 Meridian is amazing. It's no BMW though but that's fine. I need to save for a house
@@newlifegroupinc Mazdas use traditional transmissions not CVTs and are torque-y. Especially the turbo models and have interior and steering dynamics more luxury cars have. I like BMWs but not the maintenance and have experienced this personally on a X3 2012 I have watched your videos but there seems not to be a good midsized one to buy with all the issues on the X5 Should I wait till 2025 to buy the current 2020 to 2023s as used. Do you ever see these engines getting better in 5 years or this will never end unless you buy brand new? Thx
I’ve driven both those cars. The Mercedes is more of an elegant car but the BMW handles and rides much better than the Mercedes. Although in terms of image and prestige I would go for the Mercedes
Love my N20 2016 BMW 528 i , despite the bad press here and elsewhere I have found mine to be dependable with only one major issue in over one hundred thousand miles - the coolant line supplying the turbos began to leak and cost around $3500 to replace the coolant fittings. One thing not mentioned in these comparison videos is that BMW is more accessible to repair yourself than most other brands including the Japanese, and especially Mercedes! No I’m not a skilled mechanic. I did it myself: oil changes, brakes, plugs, fuel injectors, water pump removal and valve cover replacement. I have found my BMW refreshingly logical and easy to work on. Bottom line as most owners know : if you race the car by constantly hitting the turbo boost button,You should expect to pay for racing it. But oh what fun to watch just about anything disappear in your review mirror by the length of about two football fields!😂
As a German with experience on both brands all I can say: Benzes and BMW's have reliable engines for years as long as you know what to get and to get befriended with diesel engines. The OM651 (4 cylinder 170 hp, 400nm torque) is if maintenanced properly: unkillable. BMW also has equivalents to that engine as the B47 190hp 400nm which also tends to be very reliable. Only AGR seems to be a problem at 250.000km and unluckily some of them can have pre worn timing chain guides etc. But thats nothing new even the OM651 can have similar issues. If you want 6 cylinder engines it tends to be more intelligent to go for BMW's N57s or B57s. Those tend to be very reliable and tend to be way more efficient and cost effective compared to OM642. Don't get me wrong the OM642 or any other 6 cylinder Benz Diesel Engine can be very reliable but if something breaks or goes wrong: it will be XPENSIF.
Hey Mark, Great channel and look forward to every single video you put up. Also thanks being honest and for keeping us in the know. I have a question for you… Last January I purchase a new 2023 BMW M340i with the amazing B58 engine. Love the car…. I’m planning to keep the vehicle for a very long time. If you were me would you consider buying the extended warranty on the car? BMW is offering me : 4 years extra and unlimited KMS obviously after the original warranty ends 4/80k. For the amount of 6600$ CAN I think it’s a reasonable price…. What’s your opinion? Thanks and take it easy Bill K.
I have a similar car. Give it another 10k miles. So far my evaporator core went out, I travel for three months so the car was parked when I finally drove it again all sort of creeks and squeaks. Car was still fine but embarrassing to drive keeping those noises. The ball joint in the lower control arm was the issue as it dried out being parked. The steering colum also dried out but that was lubricated when the evaporator core was addressed.

the amount of plastic in bmw engine bay is shocking. Love the comparo, but I do feel you should've compared the 3 series coupe (though the interior quality isn't too different)
Test drove a 2021 C300. Only had 5k miles. Great car but it felt louder than my used 3 owner 2003 Lexus RX300. Then I asked myself..why the hell I was paying more just for another car that I didn't need.
I am over Mercedes and BMW even though I still have an older diesel Mercedes when they were made the last!!! I now have moved on to Lexus and I am very happy.
Are the same quality issues ( like plastic hoses on cooling parts) also being found in more expensive models like 5/7 series or E/ S class , or are those only on entry level models mostly ?
BMW driver and enthusiast for 50 years. I stay far away as possible from the modern ones. It's no secret that unless you have Deep Pockets you don't want one out of warranty. Meanwhile my sister just sold her eleven-year-old Mercedes sedan and within a few months the rr subframe completely failed , rusted out, broke apart, turns out it's a known issue with Mercedes and they do nothing about it. The issue is not uncommon and it's all over the internet.
I just bought a 2014 CLA 250 with 105k miles on it, hoping I can get at least 170k out of it with out too many issues. Seems to be a pretty reliable car from what I've seen online, haven't had it long.
As soon as you get in a Mercedes you feel the car controls you.. unlikely the BMW needs a qualified driver. 😅, In another way the Mercedes is safer n luxurious than the BMW. But Speed wise The BM is much faster.

Second hand car , go with Manuel gearbox
I like BMWs but not the maintenance and have experienced this personally on a X3 2012
I have watched your videos but there seems not to be a good midsized one to buy with all the issues on the X5
Should I wait till 2025 to buy the current 2020 to 2023s as used.
Do you ever see these engines getting better in 5 years or this will never end unless you buy brand new?
Thx
I’ll stick to my redsport infinity. Did they use Mercedes parts ?
I prefer BMW I have 2 BMWs
1. BMW 328i E46 2000
2. BMW 550i MSport E60 2008
Comparing a BMW 2 series to a C Class isn’t an even playing field. Comparing a 3 series to the C class makes more sense.
I’ve driven both those cars. The Mercedes is more of an elegant car but the BMW handles and rides much better than the Mercedes. Although in terms of image and prestige I would go for the Mercedes
Would be great if you could also do a review on the 4 cylin N43 engines - I have been hearing a lot of mixed opinions about it.
That’s fair
Which one do you prefer buying mercedes benz 2016-2019 c180 or bmw 2016-2019 b38 or b48 which car is more reliable
3 series
2014 528. N20. Has 103k. Should i now change trans fluid ? Getting different responses from dealerships.
You should have done a drain and fill like 40K miles ago but still get it done. Not a flush though
@@8MunchenBayern8 Thank you. Will do.
Timing chain… google
@@iAlwaysSpeakTheTruth Timing chain was done at 75k.
I did it myself:
oil changes, brakes, plugs, fuel injectors, water pump removal and valve cover replacement.
Hey Mark,
Great channel and look forward to every single video you put up.
Also thanks being honest and for keeping us in the know.
I have a question for you…
Last January I purchase a new 2023 BMW M340i with the amazing B58 engine.
Love the car….
I’m planning to keep the vehicle for a very long time.
If you were me would you consider buying the extended warranty on the car?
BMW is offering me :
4 years extra and unlimited KMS obviously after the original warranty ends 4/80k.
For the amount of 6600$ CAN
I think it’s a reasonable price….
What’s your opinion?
Thanks and take it easy
Bill K.
I forgot to mention that I’m in the Montreal area and I drive about 32k clicks a year.
Ive had a 2018 c43 (W205) for over a year now ive put about 5000 miles on it and havent had a single issue apart from routine stuff like brakes
Mr. Canadian: as MUCH as you remonsrate with the Korean Brands (specifically KIA & Hyundai), these are WAY MUCH BETTER than Volvo, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, JEEP, Chevy/GMC, Chrysler/Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Mahindra, VW, Mini, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Masseratti, Lamborghini, Ferrari...I BELIEVE YOU GET THE MESSAGE: I would much rather get a KIA/Hyundai ANY DAY, over ANY of those Brands I just listed..."LIFE'S TOO SHORT TO DRIVE FOREING LEMONS!!!!"---Mr. Canadian
Should have compared a 3 series with the C class
Hi can anyone tell me which will be more reliable?
Audi S3
BMW 128ti
A35 AMG
If they're all brand new of course
BMW in the last 6-7 years has been the best of the best of the best. I love my X5!
I had an E34 manual which I bought new with almost 200k got rear ended but the car had a lot left in it and only minor repairs
Cool car
the amount of plastic in bmw engine bay is shocking. Love the comparo, but I do feel you should've compared the 3 series coupe (though the interior quality isn't too different)
That’s fair. Thanks for watching and as they say”plastic fantastic”
True they do not build them the same way as they used to
Are the same quality issues ( like plastic hoses on cooling parts) also being found in more expensive models like 5/7 series or E/ S class , or are those only on entry level models mostly ?
230i XDrive. Absolutely beautiful car. I own a RWD one 👌🏾
That’s why I like this guy bmw classed number 4, I own bmw make confidence whenever I drive this car
They really are fun to drive
@@ECPP I love my 2012 bmw I328 sport
Thinking of a ‘13 M5, 90k, 2 owner, no wrecks-yea or nay??
Great update Mark ❤🇨🇦🍺🍺👍Cheers
Thank you! Cheers!
I have a 2012 C250 and so far so good with 142k miles
I just bought a 2014 CLA 250 with 105k miles on it, hoping I can get at least 170k out of it with out too many issues. Seems to be a pretty reliable car from what I've seen online, haven't had it long.
As soon as you get in a Mercedes you feel the car controls you.. unlikely the BMW needs a qualified driver. 😅,
In another way the Mercedes is safer n luxurious than the BMW. But Speed wise The BM is much faster.
