@@novacane219 yeah thats the problem with some of these indie games. Footsies is an example of a game that is as big as it is(for an indie game) because of the top fgc streamers raising its awareness
Bushido on PS1, it was one hit if you hit someone on the head or body. If you hit their arm they lose one arm, and a leg hit cripples them. That was loads of fun with friends.
They all beat me to saying this. But I'll add another Bushido Blade comment because those games were godlike.
We can never talk about those games enough, so pile on!

There was a deadliest warrior game like. This you could lose an arm and bleed out and shit the pirate had agrenade that just killed both of you most of the time

You should definitely try out first cut samurai duel. It has more mechanics like stance attacks,parrying grab. With many more tech you can do without spoilers.
What do you mean grab? we play first cut a lot with my lil brother and never seen a grab......we get really technical too(at least I think so)
@@jamaalsineke2405 there's a shove forward and backward.Well if you time it right you can animation cancel enemy attacks. It also can stumble enemies with bodies and heads etc.
In a way, this sort of reminds me of One Finger Death Punch. Crossed with Samurai Shodown.

Have you tried Die by the Blade? I ran across that one a day or two ago, and it seems to kind of have a Sclash-meets-Dark Souls fighting style. I think I'm definitely going to pick it up at some point and give it a try.

Interesting idea, a 2d Bushido Blade. Also there is that 3d Bushido Blade, Hellish Quart. These project show a constant interest to cover a certain type of game in the current fg scene, that unfortunately is becoming too repetitive, too all the same, and the games are becoming too similar to each other gradually. There are too few weapon fgs (less than in the 90s) and basically no fg that isnt crazy about combos. Even SC's last games leaned more on the direction of combos compared to the first games... and Samsho has weapons and little combos but the game was ruined by the bad netcode. The scene of the major fg franchises has little room to address some of those interests.
Wishlisted. Gotta save up 10 bucks.
