Did notice something about the blockers and the districts on the ringworld.
    1. the decrepit tunnels blockers give you rare resources and minerals (400 minerals and 100 gas on the one you moused over)
    2. districts cost 100 rare resources (the research one cost 100 gas)
    3. the district description reads that the Arcane Generator will update and will provide the upkeep for the new district.
So I think since you have 3 tunnels you can build one more district from each kind.

3:30 There is nothing small or contained about a segment of a Ringworld. That's a loop around the sun. A 1/8th size segment (each habitable segment in game appears to be 1/8th of the ring) would have about 9,000 Earths worth of surface area. (Math to follow) The total circumference, assuming 1 AU radius, would be nearly 600 million miles. If the ring has a width that is the same as the circumference of the Earth (which would be absolutely tiny at this scale), then that segment would have about 1.7 Trillion or so square miles of surface area. Earth has about 200 Million square miles of surface area.

Regarding the Hyperlane network theory you have; it's interesting, and plausible.
I've got my own personal theory that Hyperlanes aren't actually the only areas a hyperdrive can use; they're just the best, most reliable way to /navigate/ in subspace. Other ways are enough to get a ship back to its home base, but not reliable enough for anything else.
Or at least, that's my take on how the mechanics work. Your take also works, as the ships might still have warp drives - or Starports wormhole generators - to get MIA fleets back to their space.

The history of the Onators is long and mostly forgotten.
Coming from a lost world of warring factions, a world said to of been bathed in the hell of nuclear armageddon.
The Oni - or Saviors - came and took us and some of our old world far across the heavens to the star of Preserve.
There - on a section of the giant wheel that circled the star we were born.
So many generations passed. Our old name, our old tongue and even our old beliefs withered like dead leaves from a tree.
Our Elders - Called Quill18s - pass these tales on to keep our history alive. But much has been forgotten.
We took to calling ourselves 'One Eighters' - named for the section of the ring we called home.
We traded and mingled with other species on the other sections of the ring (through not directly - Segregation Fields prevented it) But our cultures, our cultures blended.
    This was truly paradise.
But, the trouble with paradise - it never lasts forever.
The Oni dwindled. Something called 'war' had decimated them - and soon sickness crept among the remaining.
More and more robots took over jobs as Oni died off. Until one day the Oni disappeared.....
But even the robots died, no one was left to maintain them or replace them.
Generations passed as the Ring deteriorated and crumbled.
Whole sections collapsed killing millions upon millions - species segregation fields preventing the escape of the other species.
Soon the Onators were alone. The maintenance robots gone and no control of life support or maintenence. Crops withered and water tainted. Our fate was sealed, our people wept at our inevitable extinction. We were doomed. Or so it seemed....
A lone Oni, old and decrepid. Withered almost to a husk appeared. He was the last of his kind - his name was Ranosian.
    H
e had traveled far to do his duty as a caretaker, and lamented that he was too late to save the others. We carried him to our Chiefs hut. Ranosians breath grew labored, but his eyes sparked with determination. His final gift to us was two machines. A machine, small and hand held, that gave control of Section 18 to us.
The second - gave us knowledge. Knowledge to advance and leave the Ring.
Ranosian died - his final duty done.
The Onators held a grand funeral - committing his ashes to Preserve. And the leaders got to work.
Over the course of 50 cycles they stabilized Section 18, restoring in to 80% functionality. Salavaging Ranosians ship they gained insight into power and space flight. Alas he had wiped most star chart data - leaving just a few nearby stars left. Onators began exploring beyond the rings surface, harvesting asteroids and fragments of the neighbouring rings.
70 years after the death of Ranosian - we are ready, ready to seek who we are, discover new life and new civilisations and go where no Onator has gone before....

So with a quarter of that: equal to ONLY 750 THOUSAND GAIA PLANETS!
After 5 TRILLION people lived there, you might have some kind of earth-like density.

By the wiki the primitive rate does not change the habitable rate. At x1 there is a 3% chance a regular habitable world has primitives with scaling up to 15% at x5. Note that special systems are also independent of the slider. I believe leviathans are too but I think they are also Special and outside sliders. The specials have there own flat percentages.
By your slider setting there will only one quarter of the expected habitable worlds with the expectation of 6% of them having primitives.

There's a book series (name withheld to avoid spoilers) where the previous Master Race made a device that accidentally rewrote the laws of reality so that their primary cybernetic implant material was no longer conductive. What species didn't die immediately could no longer even open doors. Might be good to work that in.

I feel like if humans were put on a ring world right now as we currently are there would be many wars over territory, many factions, but on the plus side I doubt nuclear weapons would’ve ever been conceived as use of them would probably damage the ringworld too much.or maybe that could be good lore for another species. They destroyed the ringworld with nuclear weapons and now only have a small section left but a singular faction took control of it. Hmmm might be my next game when this comes out

I suggested the origins, now I may not have been the first or only person to do it but it's still cool they actually did it, almost exactly the way I suggested it.

"limited enviroment" a section of a ring world would be like 1000x bigger than earth, more like millions of times more land to expand.

Would that be true of a single district? I agree that a ringworld section is huge, but it looks like he's stuck with only a single district until he can get some rare resources...

The way I heard it is his race was confined to a small section of that segment by segregation fields or whatev, and lucky for them the field broke down or something just in time for them to fix the life support that was about to break itself. Sadly it was too late for all the other species.

There's nothing weird about it. Origins is the best feature in next expatuon. Imo, SHOULD be been focus of the expansion above the federation stuff. It's not as exiting as this.
