Ah yes, eeting's. Lathrix now prefers to consume his audience rather than greet them
All in all... not surprised.
mhm. I saw that
Legolas the elf he is the devouring swarm
Lathrix. I noticed Something about your starting location.
You have a 13/14 system area with only ONE hyper-lane entrance, that being in the Dawcan, or the Afrmyke system.
Can i suggest a challenge, if its possible?
Build extremely tall, only putting habitats in those 13-14 systems. Call it the *Region of Galactic Trade* bring all of the trade to you, and try and make everything around you your protectors, throw your vast wealth around.
That would just be my normal way of playing a Megacorp. I never understood the people who want to play wide as a Megacorp.
Yes, Please. This would be a super fun challenge to watch.
Yes indeed I agree
@@StarboyXL9 Cause to those people they think singleplayer is multiplayer and going tall is factually less efficient than going wide.
However do whatever you want, the game isn't hard if you know how to build eco and how to optimize pops, esp if ur a megacorp going tall is the best for that. But going wide as a megacorp is better, but it isn't needed in singleplayer unless ur doing like x500 crisis with a mod or something.
@@StarboyXL9 I always want to play tall as a Megacorp, but securing a blackhole, wormhole or gateway tends to tempt a rush to secure some distant choke point.
Then the game loves to spawn rival megacorps near you, or reachable genocidals, so it's very hard to stay small, when you can simply add bureaucrats.
lathrix: eatings
me: eatings to you, fellow cannibal
“Never trust an amphibian. Land or water, pick one”. Looking forward to seeing how this goes!
Elephants really can't decide. Apparently they've been in and out of the water at least twice during their evolution.
Bloodlyshiva it’s true! At least, in the instance of dugongs and manatees it’s true
NEVER, EVER TRUST A HUMAN, THEY GO UNDERWATER, ON LAND, AND IN THE AIR MULTIPLE TIMES IN THEIR *LIFETIME* , crazy creatures
Lathrix in several Stellaris playthroughs: I may have a problem. I'm addicted to habitats.
**Void Dwellers Origin wants to: know your location.**
*Me: Give me your location right now right here*
Lathrix stellaris runs may be habitat-forming.

I'm sad he didn't make that mistake while playing a devouring swarm.
the synth route down the line would maybe make it possible to colonize worlds effectively. altough with such a good-guys empire, im sure you will have loads of migration treaties bringing in xenos....so maybe xeno compatibility ? :D
Yeah that was my thought too. Go voidborne origin for early habitats, tech rush synths, and then colonize like crazy once you've started producing synths
>repugnant frogs
>xeno-compatibility
Oh dear.
Purge the xenos!
"expect several full playthroughs" oh...darn...tons of stellaris videos from probably the only youtuber i LIKE watching play stellaris? oh man thats horrible..../cough
You probably want to get that cough checked out buddy, Coronavirus and all that.
dragon lord *sigh* 49 mins too late to make that same joke. Good work for getting there first
@@hazzardroid1394 *bows* That's what I'm here for.
Edit: Made text bold.
Was that a cough? 2319! WE GOT A 2319!
I'm not sure about you, but I definitely like it most when he's the "good guys".
Warfare: Unrestricted
Orbital Bombardments: Indiscriminate
Yep, well and truly the good guys
Also make sure to claim as many of your enemy's colonies as you can so that you can have millions of slaves to sell. Then BAM tons of energy credits, even if you have -100 a month.
I hope you see this cause it sounds quite cool to me, what you could do is develop robots and then use those to settle worlds and gather resources but keep the roads up in the habitat, and have the robots focus on gathering minerals and getting dirty while the toads remain in the void with their wealth
For a change of pace i would like to see you go to cyborgs down the "Synthetic Evolution" path but not complete it to get the cyborg bonuses (like habitablity) and then go "Xeno-Compatibility" and make tonnes of half CyberFrog babies with everyone.
Fits the xenophile-matirialist shtick.
This channel is amazing! Keep up the great work! Also, UA-cam says that the video was uploaded 6 minutes ago, but the comments are 23 minutes old. Sigh, UA-cam
from a role play perspective I would go with cybernetics rather than genetic mastery. Trader Toads with uplink brain-implants to access the stock market and such seems better than trying to make them more beautiful.
Also, pops from migration treaties can colonize planets for you, and you are gonna have a lot of migration treaties. Playing as xenophile it's a huge pain to go genetic as you will have so many species to upgrade.
Another aspect is that you are living on artificial worlds, as opposed to natural, biological worlds. It would make more sense to ascend into artificial bodies than geneticially manipulated, biological ones.
I love the beginning: "eatings"
Oh well you mentioned it a minute later
Toads = secret devouring swarm confirmd?
Damn, this is the first time I've been this early. Love your vids lath👌👌
Got to around the half hour mark. And there's something to keep in mind for this origin!
The tradition perks you can get for planets _don't_ apply to habitats as well. You'd only benefit if you got another species that can colonize planets. Hopefully additions are included in the near future, because it makes some sub-optimal.
oh I see, so you raise ants to feed it to your gecko and then when your gecko is plum enough you feed it to your turtle and then you'll eat the turtle, by that logic your technically eating the energy of the ants.
It would only be of limited benefit since for each step up you go you lose more of the original energy since it is used up by previous creatures for movement growth ect so he would only be getting a fraction of the energy from his ant children
@@jameshill9325 stop using logic on lathland's channel
@@alexbequette8399 sorry just came he from college still in smart mode
you NEED to go down the route of psychics cause HYPNOTOADS
You don’t have to worry about envoys dying, they automatically are replaced and keep the same job. Also they do stack, so the best thing to do is send all of your envoys to your first empire so you can quickly become friends with them (and because you have nothing better to do with them yet)
I love it, when you cut the beginnigs short and it just says: "Eatings..." instead of greetings...
“Eatings sirs and sirettes”. Turtle and gecko eatings?
I have been starving myself of all other gameplays waiting for you to play. I am glad you are good and can't wait for more uploads.
Remnants: No, you don't get the Spire, but you can eventually turn it into an Ecumenpolis like the regular Relic Worlds. You get some special blockers on your homeworld and first colonies, expensive to clear, that grant you some tech when cleared out.
I’m currently playing a Scion empire. I will firmly say that it’s the most OP origin you can get. Why you may ask? Within the first 10 years of the game, my Fallen Empire overlord gifted me with a battleship and 3 destroyers ..... totaled at 6.5 fleet power.....in the first 5-10 years of the game. This allowed me to hard focus on my eco and tech since the gift left EVERYONE at a Pathetic fleet power compared to me.
mine did that in the first 2 years, then gave me a levle 7 admiral which happened to be psionic and have weapon range 10 years later, i've literally gone around imposing my will on other empires using it in the first 20 years and took over a fanatical purifier empire that had ring world start, so i basically have a ringworld now and my econ and tech is on a runaway process at year 2035, got 3 advanced empires in my pocket and imposed ideology on 3 other xenophobic/slaver empires
Note that Prosperous Unification also gives your planet a very nice undocumented Modifier.
i must say the changes to make the building habitats a process of several steps really eased void dweller starts. there may be only 4 district slots, but 1500 alloys is much easyer to come by than 3000, and a colony, no matter how small still have pop growth
1:52 With choosing a relic world as your starting planet unfortunately it doesn't start with the collapsed spire, or any of the bonuses to research.
Something i noticed to my dismay, still getting specific techs was pretty nice. And the colony events. On the Shoulders of Giants has to be my favourite origin from a lore perspective though, maybe tied with Lost Colony.
**Sees capitalist toads**
**Flashbacks to Bucky O'Hare cartoon**
**Insert Captain America Meme Here** I understood that reference!
I have no problems with very long videos. I always lay down and enjoy that relaxing entertaining video.
The key to optimise voidborn is to rush robots, use migration pacts and use the aliens and robots to stlle norbal planets then use migration control to prevent xeno from settling your habitats. It does annoy egqlitarians tough something to keep in mind. Then rush allows to stat building new habitats asa also profit from the fact you start several planets to specialise them.
Eatings, Lathland.
Origins are great and make games really different - especially if you put them on custom empires and force spawn those in.
Remnants doesn't have most of the normal Relic World stuff. So their science isn't actually insane. However if you rebuild their starting world into an Ecumenopolis it has the "was a relic world" modifier that gives +10% in all science. Early game has some nice events and a few bonus sciences but mid-game is when this Origin really starts rolling with a "free" city planet.
You are my favourite stellaris UA-camr after Stefan. I hope you do not die.
glad to see you're back recording - hope the family are all ok
Much entertaining Lathrix
FYI did you know that if you hover a bit longer on the progress bar in diplomacy window where it says cordial and such you get even more breakdown information?
Really nice start tho

UA-cam's been buggy lately. Lots of errors when initially clicking on a video.
Oh man,
I'm looking forward to the day you're gonna try the Doomsday Origin. That sounds interesting as heck.
I hope he tries that as a the Terravore Lythoid. Derive every scrap of resource from your homeworld on the way out!
lath, use robots for planet exploitation. colonize, import 5 frogs to the surface, build a robot factory, then remove frogs until you just have the robot assembler.
While i dont think your people would become machines, the robots would be a pragmatic way to settle those uninhabitable worlds
latrix: our amenities are going to go through the roof
looks up and roof is starting to crack
lathrix: uuhhhh
Oddly, I wasn't interested in Mega Shipyard or the Juggernaut, but once I had Federations to try Trade Leagues and extra origins, I found out the Juggernaut is a game changer, allowing serious force projection, drawing fire, allowing boosted range titans/battleships to take out the enemy capital ships avoiding losses

I've been avoiding stellaris content waiting for you to post your videos
I can only guess that the planet couldn't handle the ugliness of the space frogs for much longer, and decided to destroy itself.
The best part of this new update. In my opinion. Is all the new art for events and anomalies.
Voidborne Traders was also my first go to Empire.
Now I'm a Life Tree Hivemind.
Life Seeded something up next.
Really enjoying those Origins.
So your entire species is watto from Star Wars? Also if you do the tree of life one can you make them argonians?
Republic Credits will do fine 👋
What do you think you are, some sort of Jedi or something?
Thank you. Your the first I've watched who actually went through the list of origins.
Imagine he’s surrounded my all three fallen empires
You think that’s bad? My first 5 neighbours were Fallen Empire. At least the Machines have open boarders...
What can i say, the Ai for once doesnt fall into economic disarray around midgame ... tanking heavily and grinding to a near halt around early Endgame. And the game still runs somewhat smothly around late Midgame ... if you dont mind that every slows down so 3x becomes 1x around endgame. Still better than previously 3x becoming 0.25x + Lag every time 0.20 time units has been hit.
Docile and nice Lathrix? Where is the REAL Lathrix what have you done to him imposter!! :D
Doomed is really fun for experienced players, saw Aspec's sponsored run go hilariously weird. Glad Mechanist is freed up from civics; allows for even more fun combinations with my fixation for having Aristocratic Mechanists!
God i come back to listen to Lathland and he keeps sounding like Rimmy 🤣sorry Lathland not meant to hurt ya I still love ya! Been a Subscriber for years now and you never get old!!
I think void dweller plus indentured assets would be cool. It’s a dystopian space station where the ruling class hold complete authority over downtrodden indenturees
If you can, I would say try and go for the psychic tree for your ascension just so you can be the traders that read your mind to figure out what you droids you're looking for at a low low price.
"Eating, sir and sirrets"
Strange intro but ok XD
Slay the spire has a new character, been out for a while but I’d love to see a new run of it!
33:38 'they are reptiles, like us'...cmon Lathrix, you're a toad, get your amphibians and reptiles right!
The toads are in the reptile section within the game and I'm using reptilian ships in-game along with the reptilian style building backgrounds - Speaking more about in game there, honestly. :P
@@Lathland I wasn't expecting a reply to my silly comment, but I'm glad you did, since it clearly shows that you care about your viewers and read the comments a lot! BTW. Amazing video as always, and thanks for explaining!
Take ove the galactic community and become the senate
DO IT.
This empire kinda reminds me of the toad race that blew up the earth in a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy with all the bureaucracy
Ever saw _Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars?_
Its so fun playing void Dwellers! i have been playing that origen since the Foundation came out :P
Welcome back! Interesting your first pick, Void Dwellers, is the strongest start IMO.
So happy to see more Lathrix videos!
Galactic doorstep is broken if you time it right. I chose it and got the ability to build gateways before I got any mid game tech(like I got it I think around 20-40 years in game time)
Lathland : *Uploads*
Me clicking on the video : *S P E E D*
I'd like to request a play through challenge for the "Post Apocolyptic" playthrough. Start with only red traits, the story being the nuclear apoc changed the species, for the worse.
Bargaining with crime lords is meant to be a quick fix while you work to reduce crime to 0. Using it like a play style and having high crime only hurts you in the long run. The bonuses you gain by bargaining with the crime lords doesn't equal what a regular pop working a job would do. It only lessens the negative of having criminals. It's still a negative and those pops stay as criminals and ultimately make less resources than they would as a regular pop working a normal job. The whole point of crime is that it's bad and it weakens your empires ability to function and produce resources. Unless you have the criminal civics for megacorps. That's completely different.
Petition to change your intro for April fools day to “Eetings everyone.”
Good job, Lath, you made Vogons.
the empire sprawl ui change is nice
idk why it wasn't like that to begin with
The classic Ferengi playthrough
Void dwellers let's play by Lathrix? No need to see the video till the end for me to place a like !! :D it's my favorite origin and by far atm ;)
your videos = my daily drug
Thank you sir, I was waiting for a new Stellaris video from you.
You have a very good spot for a small empire, only 1 choke point will allow for easier... Impounding of belligerent ships. (I didn't realize you had a dead end in the western side of your empire.)
Robots can live on planets. Best of ALL worlds
I feel like the Cash Cactus Combine would go well with the tree of life
you want us to tell you what we think regarding the synthetic route together with Void Dweller origin? well, it was the very first thing i thought about when i saw that origin: can you start as a synth race that is of Void Dweller origin, and therefore should be entirely bypassing it's main drawback of severe habitability AND growth penalties on all normal planets?
i wouldn't know about such fancy stuff since i'm stuck with a 1.5-ish build of Stellaris on console, therefore won't be getting Federations anytime soon regardless of the huge leap to a 2.2-ish build for us later this year. but just think of it: a with severe habitability and growth penalties on all normal planets cursed machine race that bypassed these penalties entirely by being a machine race AND you're a Megacorp (machine race Megacorp seems fancy from a 1.5-ish PoV) AND you have extra 15% production output on Habitats (which you're even able to build from the start at that)? regardless of if you're able to start like this or not, to me it seems like the single utmost prime case for the synthetic route being the go-to way (if it even lets you go down that path fully with this origin - again, i wouldn't know about such fancy stuff...).
unless, of course, one wants to RP a different way - my rapid breeding, docile, repugnant TToadT. ;)
Calamitous Birth is interesting, but it pretty much voids the +50% habitability that lithoids get if you use it to colonize other planets. I also haven't noticed any district/production increases to go alongside the meteor crater that the origin's unique colony ship causes when you use them to colonize a planet, just the -50% habitability from the crater itself, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but from the few years I played of this origin I wasn't very impressed compared to Ring World and Void Dwellers.
THIS RACE HAS THE SLICKEST DEALS!!!
I noticed beaurocrats ( from admin buildings ) also add Stability, which is pretty nice if you're terrible at pop management like I am.
Didn't find myself paying much attention to the Galactic Assembly really, other than to veto occasional awfulness... literally everyone in my galaxy hates me so I haven't got to try the federation changes out :(
Welcome back lath
finally void dweler, thank you! I hope you keep play until you conquare entire galaxy...
initial opinion is this start should have at least an influence discount on new habitats. 200 influence is a LOT and if you are making trade pacts/defense pacts/etc you dont get that much influence.
Love the video... im going to copy your empire and try it out. Looks like alot of fun. Great job
I haven’t watched it yet but, for once, please be the good guys
Remotely Fungus Lathrix is always the good guy, if you ask Lathrix
D0esNOtCOmpute well if we let latherix decide what was good and what was bad, 3/4 of the world would be dead because they don’t live up to standards. Actually, now that I think of it, that might be a good idea. Good thinking, latherix! (This comment might seem confusing to those below the standard level)
Me;*sees a few cool vidoes came out* ok
also me;*sees lathrix stellaris video comes out* YES
More Lathland Stellaris, Yes Please!
Eatings to you to, Lath.
Decided to try out the tree of life as my first. I don't know if other empires have similar buildings, but the tree of life's synaptic nodes jobs actually increase your empire sprawl cap, so it seems much easier now to increase that to reduce or outright remove the empire sprawl penalty.
[EDIT]
Oh yeah, apparently they do.
I thought tree of life was underwhelming until I read this comment.
My god that gives a large potential for building both wide and tall.
@@Arkhs Admin cap hasn't been an issue for me from the mid-game onward. Together with the admin reducing research and traditions, I now have twice as much admin-cap as I need, and right now the only thing that consumes it is my growing pops and the districts I am building over time. Having hive-worlds out the arse also helps.
Mind you, I am playing on Captain difficulty.
Lathland: we found aliens just like us they're reptiles
Me: wait frog are amphibions right?
You know you can build now more than 1 unity buildings on a planet, right? You can specialize a planet for just that, increasing the Ministry of Culture's efficiency greatly.
Nevermind, you found out by yourself lol
toads? OLD ONES! HERESY!
It could be cool if you could share space with an empire. You got the sky's with your habitats and your friends in the federations get the planets.
That is giving me flshbacks to the pre 2.0 bordergore when systems could be shared (no outposts like we now have back then).
@@amyelnah8717 Oh crap. I remembered those. Oh no oh no. Why are you giving me flashbacks.
YEEEAAAAAAAAAH FINALLY HE IS BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
yay more stelaris. and lahtrix you were the good guys last time, genetic route

Welcome back
-eetings sir and sirettes!
You can built multiple culture site and admins office on a habitat/planet.
