I actually am not a fan of condensed gameplay, I like seeing everything, I really should get into watching stream's, but you tube is just so much more convenient XD I will still be watching the series though!

The Condensed style is very nice especially since it lets you get right to showing off all the new things
For a showcase video like this, the condensed, edited format works well - but for a longer series I'd prefer to see it in more detail.
Looking forward to the series, and playing it myself.
For the editing, it was very jarring. Not sure how to really ease that but would like a little smoother, if its staying as the main editing for the series.
I personally enjoy watching all (or mostly all -- when nothing is happening even the 3x speed isn't fast enough sometimes) so little editing is good for me too :D
im loving that you can have varied homeworld starts now. Adds a whole other level to the story telling this game can do.

@@BigMisterApple personally, i have never seen a single mod that messed with homeworlds or ship designs be remotely balanced. Always a waste of time bad or so overpowered theres no fun.

Actually, considering you have a generator world and an ocean world in the Polystea system, I think they should be named Tea Kettle and Tea Cup, respectively :)

@@Aavak Well one idea if you want to be warlike again. Next playthrough play a democratic crusader and spread the ideology of egalitarianism to create a massive federation and dominant voting block in the galactic community forcing utopian abundance and allowing preemptive wars. So you still gain some diplomacy but can spice the game up with wars

A New Brew:
The wet humid air left a layer of condensation on Aquatami’s visor as they stepped from the colony ship onto this new again world. The old star charts had been clear that this was once an important colony of the time before and now it would once again be a site where the Eos drank the holy brew. Aquatami signalled to their retinue and pointed to a spot beside a small river, not less than a hundred steps from the colony ship. “Bring the blankets and the hampers there, the land looks firm and the grass soft.”
The priesthood had spent much time in the libraries looking for the ceremony of first landing amongst the recovered ancient texts, but only a few fragments and a snipper had been found. It was known that the brew should be steep and use a leaf native to the world but the spoken words were lost. As the retinue setup the blankets and readied the kettle, Aquatami browsed the bushes. Ahah, this bush has a most splendid colour to its leaf and the shape was oddly familiar to the governor. Could perhaps it be even after so many centuries that the Eosian legacy on this world as living and not just ruins? Only a cuppa would tell.

So basically, the Fallen Empire Origin is the Imperium of Man from 40k at the Start of the Great Crusade, right after the Emperor united Terra but now we can also play as Xenos. I'm ready for that.
That could also apply to the Eldar or Necrons... Damn 40ks base setting has three fallen galactic empires.
What? I don't think the Imperium of Man is the vassal of another empire in 40k.

Also, having that origin makes it easier to turn your homeworld into an Ecumenopolis, because a Relic World can enact a decision to turn it into one. This fits Holy Terra as it's a Hive World.
@@mercerholt8299 My approximation for Necron and Eldar origins in the game would probably be Post-Apocalyptic (then working towards Synthetic Ascension) and Void Dwellers respectively.
Not a fan of this super condensed style, but have been looking forward to a stellaris let's play from you since the last one (mega corp DLC) abruptly stopped (not sure if it actually finished or I never saw the end of it for unknown reasons). I really do hope this continues as a series.
Thanks for the feedback, is there anything in particular about the style that you didn't enjoy, or any suggestions on things that could improve it? For example, would a more thorough 'summary' after each cut, covering the points of importance (such as which techs were learned, etc) be helpful?
Moar! :D Can't wait to see even more arcs. Maybe even a FerretCorp: Grand ReOpening! As to the condensed style, can be a bit jarring, I feel like the older style time-lapse that used to happen in the older Factorio videos would work, as long as the lapse isn't too far.

Commenting! these features are really cool, and almost enough to bring me back to stellaris. They broke my heart with 2.0
You're not alone there, but for what it may be worth, while I didn't share the same frustrations some did with the changes in 2.0, I do firmly feel the game has been building upon its foundations actively, with some genuinely solid content. There is a LOT to explore in Federations, it massively fleshes out the diplomacy in the game, which was traditionally one of its weakest points!
I find it that you should try having as much federation members as you can, since they all can send their envoys to increase federation cohesion, and it seems that most members try to send at least one - so if you are Galactic Union, you get more unity from members, even if they have different ethics - than you lose from having them.

The new, heavily edited content is a bit jarring, being that I am more used to the long form, basically unedited format from before. That said this is probably better for you from a viewership standpoint.

There are some Origins specific to hive minds and machine empires, yup :)
Only like 17 hours until us plebs get access to the exciting origins
First ascension perk I get is interstellar domain and rush choke points skipping systems that I can claim later. I usually get it through the supremacy tradition so I can plop starbases quite cheaply on said choke points and build ships a bit cheaper and faster too since I usually end up neighboring empires that would love to wipe me out. It works out quite well should you run into anyone that would go to war with you at the drop of a hat just cause you exist or border their empire.
i am looking forward to doing a lithoid species with the cataclysmic origin on my channel :)

I am really excited for the origins much more than the federations rework actually. This is the first origin that I am dissapointed with. The relic world seems just like a normal world thet they slapped the category relic world on to. I was hoping for something more special.
I get a strong Vaadwaur feel with this empire... besides the xenophobic and superiority complex traits

Intelligent has always been very important trait, maybe they need to consider removing it and adding it to a mid-game event or something.

I'm afraid that the Civ series got slammed by copyright issues over the in game music (despite assurances by 2K this wouldn't happen) I occasionally think to go back and finish it off, when it feels like things have improved, but it was only last week that Quill18 posted about having his latest Civ video claimed by a /dozen/ different companies because of the music -_-
So doesn't seem like it'll be happening. I may stream it though, if there's interest.

I just wanna share that the two origins that start you in a federation are the absolute worst and shouldn't exist.

Too condensed. This would not encourage a newcomer to play the game. Suggest you check out Many a True Nerd's presentation which is less rushed and more informative.

I stopped watching several of your series in the past because you were basically tutorialising everything you were doing. It got old being taught how to play the game with every new series of the same game. Now, you've gone too far the other direction with the heavy editing in my opinion.
In this video my focus was on showcasing the Remnants Origin, and some of the Federations content, hence the large cuts.
Remnants is a fairly early-game heavy origin in my opinion, but Federations requires you meed a good couple of neighbours before you get to any of the new content so needed some bigger cuts xD

Normally I wouldn't, but it was part of the contract for this video, so... what can ya do, eh? xD Had a lot of info to cover, but had to do it all in 30 minutes, so skipping was the only option. The pace gets better (and is continually being refined thanks to active feedback) in future episodes though :D
