Man, I'm really digging the roleplay in this series!
Man I’ve been looking forward to this episode two.
I have never had a start with two super friendly neighbors in the history of playing this game.
Yea, untill i took the time to look at my created species/the usual ones and found out why there were so many "hardcore" races in my games.. kekd hard;
made some "fluffybunnypeacelovers" to balance and its ok now :D

Loving the role playing element in this playthrough!
EnderGraff1 agreed, makes me want to buy the DLC and play more
4:35: No, Aurora 4X is the Dwarf Fortress of space.
Distant Worlds is definitely up there, but at least it has good AI assistance so you don't have to know every detail to play without instant !!!FUN!!!.
Aurora 4x is more Dwarf Fortress than Dwarf Fortress is. :) At least, that's the case if you're talking about the difficulty of learning it. I love the idea behind it, but I just can't manage the incredibly detailed ship construction.
But yeah, when he said that Distant Worlds was the Dwarf Fortress of space, I was going to say that's why I love the game. (The economic system is rather silly - like libertarianism on steroids, only it actually _works_ - but that's a minor issue I can easily overlook. It makes a great game, at least.)
I bought Stellaris when it was first released, but I was never able to get into it. I know there have been a lot of changes, though, so maybe I should try again.
Quarantines coming up Quill, I hope you will help public health by uploading a million videos of this LP, it is your civic duty!
Is the abandoned gateway left from the caretakers? Is this the route they took when they left us? Maybe if we restore it, it will lead us to them.
or to nothing, or Elders that knew our people, or...dust!, whaaaait! DRAGONS .)
Finds repears instead
Yay another stellaris video, can't wait to play the expansion for myself
I think Paradox would pay special attention to ensuring save game compatibility for previews, wouldn't they?
7:27 It's nice to have this "alone in the universe" dynamic for a while. (18:50,21:35)
Tip of the day: You can shift-ctrl click a science ship to a research project to put it in the front of the survey queue instead of always having to redo the whole queue
This series has the best roleplaying
Stellaris reminds me of Spore’s space age and I love it
It is what Spore's space age could have - and arguably SHOULD have been. If this is your first time seeing it, you're in for one heck of a ride.
Ive seen his previous runs but it kinda just hit me now lol i enjoy his playthroughs since i cant play the game myself
I wrote a little story about the One Eighters as a comment in last video. Shall I continue it?
I know of your love for chocolate. When talking about my wife, chocolate to her is what the Spice is to Dune Universe.
Distant Worlds 2 has been announced
15:03 That's a new picture.
They should implement an option to turn enclaves off.
@@MiniRagnarok The problem with mods is that, even if they make the game harder (which, arguably, absence of enclaves does make the game harder) they change the checksum, which disables achievements, and a lot of people (myself included) like getting achievements.
@@Karthos1000 You can attack and destroy enclaves.
Turn off the expansion that added them into the game. I think it was the same one that added the boss monsters.
@@nick012000 Boss monsters kinda neat tho.
Yay! Just got back into Stellaris due to self isolation. Timing couldn’t be better
14:30 Lacking amenities is -1% Stability per missing unit. A positive is not worth anything, but avoiding a negative is worth almost anyhting.
22:40 If there is nobody left to meet and you do not have a reward running, this Faction issue will vanish.
21:10 You need to send any ship there to get a view of "what is going on". Ideally use a science ship, they can deal with half of the possible outcomes.
14:19, seems autochtone monument is no longer limited to 1 per planet?!
From what I heard you can build as many as you want now.
Correct, it's not limited.
@quill18 you should do a doom world after this play through...its so crazy and difficult at times and makes you rethink any early game strategy since your homeworld will be destroyed in the first 35 to 45 years
MASS EFFECT REFERENCE yes pls
Lay down the Monster drinks, Quill. You are going to pop a blood vessel lol
Other people lived on planets! Says the species that was transported to a ring-world.
Gah just release the expansion already Paradox!
Is it me or do Stellaris and City Skylines have the same music at 12:00?
I been thinking that for months glad you said so cause I couldn't be sure
Quill,
Love this. Have you considered spending a thousand food for the pop growth decision for your ring section? Seems like a great use of it, if it's allowed.
But he already has done this, no? He even talked about how the game does not warn you when the effect wears off.
@@Devire666 He implemented nutritional plenitude I know. I'm talking about the planetary decision where you spend 1k food to get +25% pop growth. If he used that too already, I just didn't see or hear that part and apologize :p
@@DakotaDuncancheerwine01 I think he did it in the first video. And in this video he was checking out how long it will last.
He did that last video, he just forgot to pop it on again in 2210.
@@nigredoooalgown6245 Well, he did complain that the game doesn't remind you about it :)
BIR IS GOOD! BIR IS GOOD! BIR IS GOOD! AND STUFF!
Now let's go drive a car!
Why are the aliens "overwhelming" even though you've disabled advanced and fallen empire starts?
Because that species probably built a few more ships or researched some military techs.
Oh yes , i wait this moment a lot
4:23 Is Distant World Origins the same thing as Distant Worlds Universe? I tried google and all that I found was Distant Worlds Universe.
Keep it coming
No episode 1, maybe edit the title to say why as i just spent time looking for it
I thought aurora 4x was the dwarf fortress of space
What was that game you mentioned? Distant World Origins? I tried to look it up but couldn't find it. Did you mean Distant Worlds? They didn't have an expansion named Origins... really want to know!
He meant Distant Worlds Universe, he even has an unfinished playthrough of the game on this channel
Love the roleplay
Lol, quill's territory looks like Italy, with abandoned gate located in Sicily.
I thought aurora 4x was the DF of space?
Aurora c# may come out by the end of the month
this race's xenophile explorer thing, in combination with their overabundance of food , has me comparing them to the race of potato farmers from The Lexx. cheesiest sci fi series ever. loved it.
24:20 I noticed you cancelled the first order and then gave a new one and then queued, that's not necessary if you control shift click you add an order at the front of the queue.
I tried the Shattered Ring as an origin, kinda disappointing tbh...you literally can't do anything with it unless you get lucky and find a lot of minerals + the correct rare resource to allow upgrading. Otherwise it's a lot like the Doomsday start in that you have to expand to another world ASAP to be able to do anything.
Have you tried clearing the blockers? That'll give you enough special resources to build a section. Also, you don't need to worry about maintenance for the first section of its kind.
I've done a shattered ring start myself. If you're having trouble, just let me know.
@@DrTssha Enough to build it yes, but not enough to maintain it. Each section has a +2 maintenance, and if you don't have any rares in your territory, you have to wait till mid game research to make them
@@joeltt1233 There's a special on the ring that pays the maintenance cost. It's what's paying the maintenance cost on the farming section you start with. Read the tooltips, I've played this origin before, it WILL pay the maintenance cost of the first section of a particular type you build (except farm, because you've already got one).
@@DrTssha is it not the first section only, not the first of each type? thought it was 1 section total.
@@joeltt1233 It's the first section of each type. That includes Housing, Commerce and Research. Also includes the energy cost.
24:40 Why? You don't have any threats and it costs you influence.
People turn off nutritional plenitude?
Yeah. Why would you not? Sure it takes more food but having more pops is incredibly valuable to your economy.
@@DakotaDuncancheerwine01 Exactly, pop growth is more valuable than pretty much anything else.
@@DaDunge Oh! You meant "turn off" not "turn on." Got it. You had a typo there.
@@DakotaDuncancheerwine01 Fixed the typo aside from that I haven't the faintest what you are trying to say.
@@DaDunge LOL I meant "meant" not "needn't." I just made a typo too. The irony is great :p
