  • This was my first simulated flight in Alaska. The mission was to fly over the Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. I used the Cirrus Vision Jet to cover ground quickly, and because it has anti-icing capability--it's cold up there!. I condensed the 1.2-hour trip to these 11 minutes.
I departed from PAEN--Kenai Municipal Airport which is southwest of Anchorage, flew over the wild and spectacular country around Lake Clark, and landed at PAKN--King Salmon airport.
The flight was inspired by a TV documentary we saw about Lake Clark National Park. I would love to see this dramatic area in person, but if I never do, at least I feel like I know the terrain to some degree.

Looks like bicycle speed when landing. Just land on the ramp.

LOL. Maybe I should fly it in a STOL competition! 😄
