      Not really. Depends. Idk it it's all of them but many are made in mexico now. I got a sherpa lined hoodie about 60 bucks (not waterproof that one I think is a bit more or cheaper) and it's made in mexico. Mind u got it from a reputable store in NYC. Had it for like 5 years now.

      @@robmalcolm8042 I finally did buy one locally (Sportsman's Warehouse, made in USA). If you go to Carhartt's website, they list the USA stuff with an American flag icon. I also have bought some of their non-USA stuff, because I still want to support them over other companies that don't make ANYTHING here. Carhartt has four USA manufacturing plants.

      @@BlaxkRaven02 Most Carhartt products are NOT made in USA. That is why you have to check the label on each product. But, they operate 4 plants in the US... which is a LOT more than most companies! I will always support a company that operates some US production over companies that have ZERO US production!

    I happened to be in the market for a winter jacket for this season and ended up going with the J130, the J140 with double sleeves (inner and outer layers) . I'm over in NC where it gets really cold, lots of wind chill, but no snow. Thanks for this breakdown, the selection of jackets is pretty overwhelming when trying to find the warmer ones.

It's very warm and really nice, and great if I'm going to be outside for sky length of time. I'm not a hood fan, so I'd prefer the C55. But i find even in South Central Alaska, the C55 is too bulky and heavy to run errands in. I might wear it on a job site inspection in January, but definitely not a daily coat since I work in an office.

    Actually the warmest jacket is the #100115001, RN#14806, It is the Arctic down jacket. I don't even know when it was made, but I have two of them from probably 2008 or so. I honestly cannot wear it unless it is 0 degrees Fahrenheit or colder. And at that point you're just wearing a T-shirt underneath or maybe a long sleeve T-shirt. And then you just unzip it when you start to overheat.

    I have the C55 in small and the J133 in medium. The J133 is small would be too short where the C55 in medium would be too baggy in the body, I'm 5'10 170lbs.
    I've had the C55 for fifteen years and it's still pristine. I've only washed it one time to rewaterproof it with Nikwax. The new Arctic Extreme coats and jackets are ugly and made of thinner Cordura. You're better off finding an older used one in excellent condition than wasting your money on the new ones. Owning the C55 and J133 in great condition makes me feel like I hit the lottery. I also have a North Face McMurdo parka I got for $50 used but it's really heavy and super hot. I have twelve vertebrates fused in my back with metal implants so having something that keeps the elements off is really important. You did the internet a solid with your review, sir. The J130 is robust until it meets the washing machine, I had it years ago but like you said the comfort is far greater than the J133 which is like wearing a gun holster since it's made of 1000 Cordura instead of cotton duck.

      I haven't tried that coat. Looks like it has 500-denier Nylon shell - my J133 has 1000. It does seem Carhartt is making a few changes because when you search J133 on their website it now re-directs to style 104458, which is similar but uses 500-denier instead of 1000. Not sure if they are bringing the J133 back or not. Overall, I'd expect that Full Swing Yukon to be very warm and durable, but it's hard for me to say without trying it. I have the Full Swing Chore Coat, definitely allows more movement in the shoulders. Sorry can't be more help

    The problem with Carhartt is the inconsistency of sizing within the brand. Love the product hate the headache of guessing about and I started just ordering a bunch from amazon and sending back the ones that don't fit. This definitely helps, ever consider doing a video on the vests and the different t shirts. That would be amazing, thanks!

    • @TalesfromtheGreenway
      @TalesfromtheGreenway 3 роки тому

      @@ES-qe1nh I'm finding some weird things though depending on what country they are made in. Some recent issues are the armpits are super high and tight on the Armstrong full swing. The length and width was fine just super high pits. I couldn't go up a size it would of been too big. What I'm noticing is the relaxed fit are being more consistent and closer to regular sizes. They are working for athletic builds. As for myself or anyone in between small and med it's pointless trying to make a original fit work. They skip a size imo.

    • @wwcreviews

      J130 and J140 almost identical. The J130 has the broken in feeling off the rack. The firm duck of the J140 provides a little more wind resistance etc, but overall the warmth is very similar. Yes, they both can handle most all winters unless we are talking about arctic conditions (then I'd go J133). I own both. My old J140 that I just quit wearing has been washed so many times, it feels just like the J130 now. So over time, even the outer shell difference disappears.
