    Great video! I love the whiteboard. You had me thinking of a couple of spots in our lake that are probably spawning bays and I never thought of that connection. I love learning this stuff during the off season. Thanks!!

      Thanks Dean, I'm glad this might help you make a connection to some spots on your local waters. Thats the whole point of this series, to help others, on their waters, find new spots to fish.
      Appreciate you always tuning in!

      That may be in order in the future! It's a long wait until the middle of June for us.

    Awesome video and white board presentation. Quick basic question, our local lake is starting to warm up, what is your recommendation as far as max water temp, before you suspend fishing till fall. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @54orbust
      @54orbust  Рік тому

      Hey Doug, thanks for finding us! In our area fish generally start to move to familiar summer areas around 70 F water temp. Just ahead of that we get bug hatches that pull fish out into the basin and a lot of those fish move from there to summer areas. I wouldn't say we fish for suspended fish all summer, but you have to start there in many cases. Appreciate you watching and asking the questions!

  • @calboifresh

    starts getting tricky when you have a lot of pike in the body of water, as they have pushed muskies out of what appears to be good spawning areas

    This was a great video. Highly informative and something that anyone who fishes these types of lakes should check out. I do have one question. I'm in eastern Ontario probably around 300-400km further south but still on sheild water. Our opener is also 3rd Saturday in June but with water likely being warmer here should we be looking more towards the connected summer locations?

    • @54orbust
      @54orbust  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching Chris! Good question, I'm only going to guess, as I have not fished your area, but with warmer water probably means they would be well after the spawn and should be starting to move out to summer locations.
      Again, I would err on the side of caution and check some areas just out of spawning bays etc.. some fish are very slow to move to summer areas.
      Appreciate the comment and question!
