- Опубліковано 21 вер 2024
- To commemorate the upcoming 2023 Le Mans 24 Hour (100th Anniversary race), Polyphony have added this Gr.1 time trial around the famous circuit. Here is my attempt to get the best time I can within 24 hours.

Only Steve makes a 24:24 minute video of 24hs challenge to end up in 23rd
😆😆
but he wanted 6th....
@@SteeeveO 6thhhhh

Alex Albon is number 23...
Super GT=Alex Albon confirmed
I think we dont quite realize how good is Steeve, being in the top 50 in the world is not for everyone.
Its not for 8,038,391,600 people.
This reply will be out of date as soon as I post it 😂
Yeah. By my maths somethig around 50 people can be in the top 50.
Not so sure about it tho. We might need a mathematician.
@@fransilva3495You sure it's 50? I think it's more like 80 or something.
I've known. A whole unit of a racer.
@@JohnyG29 It was out of date as as soon as you glanced at that number actually.
I appreciate the video length being 24:24 😮💨
Thats why hes the goat
lol thats what i was thinking
imagine, 1 year later, 24.04.2024 vid lenght 24:24 :))
@@claudiu-zaharia There aren't 24 months in a year🇺🇸🦅🎆
If you didn't get it, I'm referencing the fact that people in the U.S use a Month/Day/Year format for documenting dates, while the U.K uses a Day/Month/Year format.
@@Tronic5435 pretty much everyone in the world uses dd/mm/yyyy format)
Being a fan of SuperGT is like being a fan of time trials before racing was invented
😂
Bruh where did this meme come from
@@hablicious6117 it’s a long story

Stoooooppppppp
You're a great driver, can't wait to watch you drive the Nurburgring irl, well done mate!
I know this video is 4 months old but the message remains the same. Thank you for such great content, your driving skill is elite, and the commentary is both witty and soothing, and despite your talent, you roll with the fun comments about people using your videos for ASMR with humor. Keep on!
24:24 you love to see it
What a way to start the day! A BLT, a coffee, and a SuperGT video!
Well done on Liking the Thing
Absolutely love these time trial videos. Really shows how talented you are
Your first lap was pretty much the same time as my PB :(( it’s crazy how fast you guys are. And I can’t believe all the pros are another level about you as well, it’s absolutely insane
Steve’s use of sacrificial corning on that last right hander coming outta the Porsche curves and Karting Nord, proving its absolutely critical for higher top speed through Maison Blanche. 👌🏻
I'd be interested in seeing you do a deep dive into a time trial session comparing VR to flat screen. I think VR could be an advantage on some tracks with tight corners.
Steve congrats on p2 in the champions league yall got very close to winning but im sure you will get them next time
And there you have it. A lesson in patience and perseverance. Kudos to you my friend. Excellent work. 👏
Not usually a fan of time trials but this was edge of your set viewing. Well done 🎉
I knew Steve was quick but I think since getting the game I have a new appreciation for it, smashing it as always mate!
I think the biggest thing you missed from the replay initially was the guys’ ability to basically use engine braking to be deeper on the brakes. Notice how he’s blipping 1st to get the car to basically stop with the brakes. It’s not necessarily the gear on exit that you should be paying attention to, it’s the use of the extremely quick gear downshifts to help the car not just rotate, but also brake. Cheers.
Makes a lot of sense. GT race softs have always been so soft that such a tactic would actually work without overwhelming the tyres. And of course it only works because GT is also so arcadey that you won't blow the engine doing this. It's kind of my pet peeve with racing 'sims'. You really should not be able to money shift like that in any game that calls itself a sim.
I watch these videos... find them funny and at the same time, enlightening.
It makes me want to play the game even though I got the platinum and don't even have it installed anymore.
Than I remember I don't have a wheel and playing with the controller is not the same as what I just watched and that's that! lol
But all your videos are great, Steve! Thanks for the content!
I always found this stupid during timetrials and qualis, that you get penalty which stays with you for next lap (unless maybe seleceted last corners). Just don't count the lap, inform the player that cut was made and thats all.
Brilliant! :)
I'd resigned myself to a silver with 3:25.8, but this video inspired me to have another crack at it, and managed to get a Gold last night!
Bro you drive really well, do more competitive races
No, How will I heavenly fall asleep if someone else is commentating over his race?
@@313gwar kinda true. Can't tell you how many nights I've fallen asleep to Steve's narration. A quiet rev of an engine in the background helps too lol
Speaking of Le mans. History has been made! Another thing is have you thought about doing your own circuit guide series. Like a series where you run various laps pn each track and explain different ways of how to set the best times
I live in Durban, South Africa, one of the most unequal countries in the world. Where I live in a higher end area, each home is a double or triple story and it's not rare to see Bentley's, Lamborghini's and Ferraris. I work in one of the disadvantaged areas (where kids don't even have shoes and there's 80 kids to a class) and I played this video in our reception. We have kids come over just to watch these videos, and it's amazing how much joy it brings these kids. The big boss just bought a PS4 and is going to let kids come in during the school holidays.
Who knew a video made in the other side of the world would bring smiles to poor disadvantaged kids who have never held any electronic device.
need some more group c cars, hopefully for the 3.5 liter era, more gr. 1 cars honestly, great video Steve
I always love when these videos come out, sometimes I actually improve my own times after watching. I noticed with those Group C cars is that coming off throttle for an instant while changing up actually helped my straight-line speed, gets rid of the throttle blip that the game does. Love the content as always
I'm right at your tail at 4,289th. Thanks for sharing your process!
these white lines....why does Sony even paint them when the track limits are always somewhere else? it looks insane how the top times just cut every single corner
I don't understand penalties in time trials. Make no sense to me. Just invalidate the current lap. Only exception maybe if the penalty was on the last corner (i.e. potentially affecting initial speed of the next lap), in that case it makes some sense to also invalidate the next lap.
So many penalties don't make sense in GT7 . ..
The corner cuts on that spectate lap were insane counted 5 slowdowns and atleast 3 offtracks (based on iracing track limits(
Very impressive Steve! Thanks for showing us the entire process. Makes me feel better about meeting Barry-R all the damn time!
Yo you know what I've noticed now that we've been able to see your camera more? That your inputs are much more stable than back when you used to stream... You rotate the wheel the necessary amount and keep it there until the apex, then ease it back with grace. I can notice how much less your car wiggles nowadays.
is it a coincidence that the video is 24:24 minutes long?
Superb driving as always, I think 1 factor that may be keeping you from getting that little bit higher is tire temps.
I have seen people that have been able to pull up tire temps somehow and when you watch the worlds top times it is evident that they are doing something to keep tire temps in the optimal range - and that is why they seemingly have more traction then just doing a lap the cold starting temps.
Really appreciate the calm insightful analysis and entertainment. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Steve: ‘Im going to give myself 24hours to set a good time’
Also Steve: 221st in the world.
My love for Group C just grows and grows
how can this man stay so calm, just shakes his head, strong mental
That number one in the world made me laugh. He spent more time outside of track limits then he did within them. He had two wheels on the grass twice through the Porsche curves. The first of the Ford chicanes he was fully off track and the second one the sausage curb went right under the car. 😄😄😄
I have to say, Congratulations Steve !!
Well done on challenging yourself to the Top 1.5% (a la Olympic Esports Qualifier requirements)
"Get in there Lewis" indeed 🤝
after watching you for 6 years i can really see how much you've come along!! forever my bathroom video choice! lol
Don't bin it like Michael Crashfender did!
Oh! You did!
I thought it was just me that did that! Thanks for the encouragement.
I mean the lap is so long that Steve's consistency is shining through!
So much difference with GT4, there with a Sauber C9-Mercedes Benz I did a 3.07 on the same circuit with honoring the track limits, but yea, sims got a long way since :P
Perseverance pays Steve, learning on the job and taking tips off others to improve, is a good metaphor for life. Cracking laptime at the end too 👍
I just can't get my head round how I am using an identical car, and I can't get it to brake as quickly as Steve can. This is where there's skill levels you can't even see. It's literally identical equipment yet he can make it do things I just can't.
Ive always really enjoyed this circuit but just not very fast on it, lol. Watching this was helpful, thanks
Get in there Lewis 😮
forget that
get in there Steve. 21.2 that’s rapid. 👍🏼👍🏼
Love the shirt too. You can buy that car (M2 BMW)on GT7. It’s even the same colour. 😂
Amazing work Steve. I’ve put in around 1k miles around Le Mans and can’t improve on a silver,
So frustrating!
World Record: 3:19
Steve's Time: 3:21
So "only" 2 seconds. But on this high speed track it is a landslide of a difference.
This is a good example of what it takes to do a fast lap!
The ups and the lows and the inbetween. Really instructional not matter what level you are on. Steve is blindingly fast. It makes me wonder what the difference a pro driver really is. Being more accurate another 2% of times? The margins are so small.
I was quite happy with my 3:23 lap in the Mazda just to see Steve match it so early in the video already 😂
19:36 Supra GT, I laughed so hard I accidentally woke up my parents at night🤣
Although super gt is an absolute goat. I still see major areas where he could improve if he saw it too. Either way this man deserves every ounce of praise
Next years Lamborghini hypercar line up for Le Mans: Nicholas Latifi, Alex Albon and Super GT!
This is the only track that i can do that allows me to go way past my normal limit, its quite a nice track to drive once you know how to do it well (im not that great at the game, just a casual player)
Alessandro Pier Guidi would be proud of that last lap.
24:24 duration, what a nice wink to the race duration !
I cannot fathom how late he brakes. I have a few gold time trials in my pocket but I just have not been able to brake that late in this one. Insane lap
The trick is to not use full brakes and lockup, if you turn while braking you oversteer. Use only enough to get to a fast enough corner speed. USE YOUR APEX
I remember flooring the Peugeot gr1 racing car on the Porsche curves
You put in the work, you got the result. Awesome job Steve, nice driving. Love the video
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve incurred penalties on those Ford chicanes before I’ve even started, this challenge is solid on the d-pad
Mate you're killing me here. It took me days to get into the mid 23s and you just fly in at the last minute and do it in a couple of attempts..? 🤣
Awesome TT , good watching.. 👍
Hey superGT, I wonder what FFB settings do you use in GT7? What's the Torque number and sensitivity?
I'm just researching on this and it's like wow. Such wildly different answers and numbers. Some say "4-4" some say 4-1" some say "10-1" some say "10-10" (first number torque second number sensitivity) etc...
And the understanding itself about torque and sensitivity for GT7 differ wildly as well!
Le Mans was great this year.
Your fastest lap is always after you take a break and you’re on a fresh table. Nice job Shteve.
Steve saving the top spots for others instead of shaving off a few more seconds doing the YMCA into the porsche curves. What a legend
Only Steve could make a 20 plus minute video about a time trial interesting 👌
You need to do more than this, like track tutorial.
I did 24 hrs of nurburgring on gran turismo 4 forever ago. I don't think I've touched a racing game since.
See this was always my through within online racing the longer the race/lap. the cream will always make its way to the top
Trying something sleeping on it and then trying again the following day actually works wonders for learning!
Nice work, having trouble breaking into the 20’s on this track
On controller best can manage after 10 laps is a 3.27.5
Glad I was only 1s slower than you, it's hard to throttle without making the car spin and there's so much understeer. Well done
Hey Super GT - since im new to SimRacing, im really interested in your settings :D can you give some kind of gear breakdown and your setupconfiguration? well done!! im only achieving a 3.27.8^^
hello superGT, viewer here. Would you consider trying out ACC? The new update has completely changed the tire and suspension physics and it feels so lively comparatively to the previous build. would love to see you give it a go.
3:23.5 ish in vr here. And it took me forever lol with countless restarts
That was unlucky , but I know there will be the lap of all laps to come…..HERE WE GO!!!!!
i agree im very new to gt and i remember this time trial i could only get in the 24 s
that one pixel is what did Fassbender in.
19:28 that face expression screams not great not terrible 😂
Love the video but no outro gets you a dislike 🤣
That's how I roll - fickle as heck 😘
Without that deep entry mistake I think a high 3:20 was definitely on if you kept plugging away at it.
That would be nice to see you try that kind of challenges in the not-meta car, putting another model on the leaderboard !!!
that is NOT what I was expecting the #1 time to look like
What the hell?? Didnt expect someone from my country played this game, let alone setting the 2nd best time in the world
This is proof that you are actually Alex Albon, unbelievable pace! Hot lapping Lemans in group 2 is horrible but to get in the top 30 is Alien level stuff, well done m8 🙈
I recommend the Nissan from ´92 it has 75hp more and thatfore its faster on the straights 363kmh
I haven't played Gran Turismo since like GT4. Good to see that the "suggested" gear is still wrong 15 years later.
Super GT, if you restarting all the time your tires don't get enought heat then you get less grip
Out of Interest Steve, what Force Feedback percentage are you running on your Podium Wheelbase to race this hard for long periods? TIA! Amazing consistency btw!
About 32%
After watching SuperGT for a while i decided to get gran turismo 7 can’t wait to play online soon.
Remember watching you on the controller. Now you’re 23rd in the world on wheel. Well done mate!
i miss doing the 24 hour race of this in the older gran turismo games. would always feel like crap after but boy, felt good to check it off the list
I wish i had more time to work on that one, i only had 4 hours before it ended...Lots of room to catch up to the master though
😅
if the trial is to complete a lap within 24 hours i can probably do it
also the video is 24:24 long and i choose to believe that was intentional
Well done sir. I couldn’t get under the .23’s
hello steve, thanks from the viewers here.
If you want to want to get in a rythm, dont think in numbers but in corners :D
Even when you mess up or get penalties.
