- What an incredible day! So many stunning early Transporters, so many awesome people and all to support a great charity www.cruse.org.uk
Thank you to all that came, I know some traveled from the other side of the country and even some from The Netherlands and Belgium. You guys are the ones that made this such a special event.
Thank you to all the team at Transporter HQ for working so hard behind the scenes and in the lead up to the BBQ.
Finally thank you to the admin team at Resist the Lift for approaching me about putting on this event. Same again next year?

I spent sooooo many years in the beetle scene trying to make them look older.
I have just bought my first T5 and it baffles me how many are face lifted! The OG front is by far the best looking and, in my opinion, was the golden era for modern VW's.
Mk4/T5/B5/6X/6N. The build quality compared to what all the other gen pop manufacturers were making was amazing! And what they did for the Turbo diesel movement!! Crazy!
The only one of those I haven't owned is the Lupo... My T5 is a Caravelle SE, but my heart lies with the commercial front. Love a black bumper and orange indicators! 😂
My old T5 caravelle bus is a car that I fell in love with and still drive, R21 low springs😎🤘💪

I agree buddy owned my prefacelift for 15 years gutted I sold it.Good old ulez a I am on the t6 journey.

I face lifted mine I love the look of it but now when you see them all together think I mite have made a mistake I can’t tell the wife she will go mad 😂

Stunning selection of buses - I think my T6 is the sweet spot in the transporter history but love these just the same. Great to see so many fellow enthusiasts - love the transporter scene ❤
I love the T6 too. I really love my T6.1. I just like to see them stay the face the came with.
@@THQAutomotive perhaps you need to develop a T6 > Prefacelift front end kit - then I can have the best looks of the original front with all the more modern Highline cabin, tech, engine, DSG box etc

Awesome, to see so many pre faces , when i bought my van i wanted to do , but after a respray i liked the preface more and didn't want to look like everyone else's van out there happy i kept it now Just need some new boots now

I completely agree that the pre face lift T5 is the best looking T5.
I actually really like them all, I just love that the pre-face is the original.
@@THQAutomotive I agree why change the front end of a T5 Nice that people are putting them back to pre face lift and yes all the transports look awesome.I fell in love with transports 33 years ago when I was on my honeymoon in Newquay when we bumped into run to sun it's only just now I can offord one to convert probably a T6 and expect you will emptied my bank account by year end 🙂

Gutted I couldn’t get there in the end with my preface, I’d bought a ticket and everything I’m happy the money went to charity just gutted I missed all the other preface vans

You're probably right, although we've never sold facelift kits or the headlight looms. It's just my opinion and I'd just like to see the original look stick around for longer,

@@stevebennett6727 100%. It's very tongue on cheek what I say about facelifts. I totally understand why people want to do it. I just hope some can resist so the original look is still around for when they're the next classic. Pre-facelift are currently increasing on value, while the later models are going down in value. I know it's not all about money though. We own these things for the lifestyle and we all get to make them individual on our own ways.
Agreed. Mine T5 is an 06 2.5 174 and it looked boring so face lifted it, lowered it and have spent a fortune on it but we love the look and the way it drives. Some mates would only ever have a T4 but they ain’t for me either 😂😂
