Love the van build series
Thank you bud 🙏 hopefully get on with some exciting stuff in the next one
Just come across your channel and ended up binge watching loads and picking up tips for my van and my own UA-cam channel, but I’ve picked up on the fact you used to be a joiner, that’s one hell of a career change, where did you learn the extra skills?
This build is one of those things that I really want to do but know I’ll never be able to. Thankfully Dan is here so I can at least do it vicariously 😂
You won’t know until you give it a try bud. Thank you so much for watching 👊
can do anything if you put your mind to it👍
Thanks for the positive vibes guys 🙏🏼
TBH I’ve really gone through the mill (mental health wise), redundant, divorced, basically needing to restart life mid 40’s, and don’t know how to.
UA-cam probably isn’t a great place for me to spend my time as all I see is people succeeding constantly (nothing at all wrong with that btw, I’d do it too), but it makes my hole seem even deeper to climb out of.
MH is an invisible problem, which has no clear path out of (for me at least).
Also I hate the term mental health, I’ve just had a load of isht hit me in quick succession and I’m struggling to rebound.
But anyway if I ever manage to drag my sare out of it and get a T5 to convert I’ll be sure to watch your vids Dan 👌
TMI 😂
@@fluffstar_exactly the reason to do it brother/sister. And having the freedom to just go away at the drop of a hat for virtually no money will help
Looking mega. Fancy helping me put the windows in my sliding doors? Scared of cutting holes in it. 😂😂
Cheers bro. I was scared cutting into this but just make an initial clearance cut then go back in and tidy it up so you can see and it isn't that bad.
Dan like the sliding door carpet idea
Cheers bud, tidies it up doesn’t it!
Lovely Jubbly Dan, you manage to make these van conversions look very easy.
Thank you bud. It takes a LOT of thinking 😂
Never thought I’d be interested in this project. Loving it!
Thank you for watching bud, glad you are enjoying it 👊
Love all the work you put into your cars! Especially when you’re laying the van carpet it’s so satisfying to watch
Thank you for watching dude. Glad you are enjoying watching 🙏
The effort it takes to try and sinc all the videos between various bits of the project must be huge! Loving the build DC 🤙🏻
It proper messes with my head dude! I like to film something completely instead of flitting between jobs as it fry’s my brain when I start editing 😂
Loving the build
Cheers dude.
Nice window upgrade and look great
Thank you dude
Cracking work as we have come to expect. I was already for your Video yesterday, forgetting it I was a day early.
Thank you bud 👊
Hello Dan a great job perfect video 👍👍👍👍👍greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 👋👋👋 Kai 🙏🛠🔊
Thank you Kai, glad you enjoyed it dude 👊
Need to get some carpet in my motor now after watching this.. awesome build mate 👌
It makes such a difference!
@@DanChambersDAC this 4 way carpet and good for door cards?
Love the work so far Dan, be a nice looking van when you've worked your magic 👍
Thank you bud. We can’t wait to get away in it!
wish I had used a nibbler on my windows. Yours cut the metal cleanly and effortlessly. I'm reallly enjoying watching this conversion, Dan and great advice on the taping of holes which I did on mine. regards and respect-Kenny
That tool made the job so much easier. Glad you are enjoying it bud. Thank you for watching 👊
Do you remember the make and model of that one Dan? Would be a handy bit of kit to have👍
Looking very smart! Nice job Dan 😎👍🏻
Thank you Ian 👊
Starting to come together nicely dude
Thanks bud., Getting there
Dan you make everything look so easy! Well done keep up the great content 👍
Thank you Sam, glad you enjoy it 👊
Top job Dan. You made the carpeting look easy. I know its not your first rodeo but it's still quite a daunting task. It took me two attempts to do my van and after seeing yours I want to re-do mine. That carpet looked really nice to work with as well. Great job on the windows too. I love the "fake window" look too.
Thank you bud 🙏 every time I do something I think ‘next time I would do that differently’ so each one gets a little better but we got to start somewhere! Just be proud you built it yourself dude
Another great video , Your van is now at the same stage as mine, looking forward to see what your going to to do with the inside roof panels
Thank you for watching bud, glad you enjoyed it. Roof is still to be decided 🤔
Bit mesmerised watching you carpet this one, Dan😂 Looking trick and nicely detailed. Intrigued by the front bumper!? Hope the home workshop is coming along, looking forward to an update on that, when you can; you’re a busy bloke🤣👏👊
Watching the episode back the carpet lining mesmerised me too 😂 I swapped the front end back as I always wanted it to be a simple commercial front. Not sure why I bought the Caravelle front tbh 😂 we keep saying ‘we need to upload another episode’ but run out of time 🤦🏼♂️
Top tip
Try using Single edge blades they are easier to use than Stanley type blades.
I will have a look into them cheers dude
Great video as always Dan
Thank you for the support guys 🙏
I used to cut my windows from the inside with the nibbler. Found it easier to follow the line and no need to do a second pass. Miss converting these vans
I have never tried that way
@@DanChambersDAC maybe worth a look if you ever get another. Love all the content cant wait for the barn to be done
Amazing HQ
Couldn’t do it without their help 👊
Loving this build 👍
Thank you bud
Looking great 👍
Thank you bud
Looking good Dan great content mate 👍👍
Thank you Tim 👊
When carpeting the doors, have you ever considered or seen people use U-shaped rubber seals to outline the door to tuck the carpet into? I've just bought some from amazon to try on my caddy... hopefully will look good.
Thanks for the how to video . Can I check a few things , did you prime , paint the cut edge , would you better finalising the window lining ( over the cut edge ) before installing the glass , avoiding glue on the glass ? Is it worth filling the gap in the double skin of the metal panels and finally how did you get the neat edge on the side loading door , stanly knife ?
Thanks again great video
Are you still doing the tailgate ?
Yes I did prime the cut edge to seal it and stop any rusting issues. Looking back it would have been easier to bring the carpet over and then put the windows in. Some companies to fill the gap between skins with sealant yes. Edges on the sliding door were just a stanley blade yes, I explained how I cut the edge in the video. Collecting the tailgate today.
Awesome mate!!! It needs lowering!!!
TELL ME ABOUT IT 😂
With that level of fab work you could have easily sorted that tailgate I sent you on Instagram man.. great progress! Just picked up my 5.1 yesterday 💪🏻🤙🏻
😂 yeah we could have sorted it I just don’t have the time 🤦🏼♂️ 🤞 I have sorted another one.
Vw T5 Caravelle tailgate.
Needs work around the handle as you can see. Just seen this on fb marketplace mate.
Cheers bud. Collecting a tailgate today, and it't the same colour!
Looking good dan, workshop update soon?
Cheers bud. Hopefully got some stuff happening on it this week.
Great content! We will buy our T6 in the next two months and convert it to a camper in the upcoming months, glad that transporthq has a store here in the Netherlands as well. Are the newer replacement windows also coming from transporthq?
Awesome! Yes they will be THQ supplied windows that are in development.
@@DanChambersDAC curious when that will be available, because I rather stick these windows once.
I need to pull my finger out & carpet my van but need to remove all the the glue from the old carpet first 😞 any tips for this 🤔
Yeah that won't be a nice job! I would say thinners or something and it will be a horrible job to do. Could you not carpet over the old glue with new glue?
@DanChambersDAC I’m worried it won’t stick if it’s not on the bare metal
Is the prototype windows a pop out style 👀
👀
Saw you put golf gtd 6 seats in a t5 what bases did you use?
Were do you buy your carpet from dan 👍🏻
So is there no need to ply line the van then ? Seeing as the metal is carpeted or is any ply lining going to be minimal ?
The ply panels are the same shape as the grey hardboard panels from factory. There is no need to plyline the whole van before carpetlining
@@DanChambersDAC cheers Dan. Can't believe how quickly you've smashed all this I need to get back to it in mine, your vids are inspiring. Enjoy your Sunday 👌
Hi where did you get the rear side window inner trims from
Hi mate what make is your nibbler..?
What is the carpeting used?
Hey
👊
