I run these exact same tires, general grabbers at3's in 235/55-18 on my T6.1 150 4 motion manual and i found that the 3% speedo difference puts me spot on with actual speed and indicated speed so no need for me to calibrate it.
Its very strange, I have seen this too. I have also seen other vans that seem to be out by 7% plus.
Excellent, need a light upgrade. Just got a 6.1and fitted your sport comfort springs so I’ll be watching with credit card in hand!!!

Now you’ve ditched the 18 coverts, I might just be the first with them on a lowered T6.1 (2 weeks to go) They’ll look mint with Indium Grey. Hadn’t give the arches much thought, but I like them. The most important thing of this build is the Ovano dog version. I need this 👌

What brand of arch trims do you guys use? I need some for my T5. Any does and don't when it comes to arch trims?
Bilstein Germany and also we found out many years ago that Monotube does not work on this platform at the front axle ! All the B6 + B8 which had intially Monotube damping at the front was switched to Twintube to avoid the trouble with terrible noises at the front transmitted directly into the cockpit ! Some had these problems from the first day and some had this problem after half a year/ year . Thats why the B14 + B14 KOMFORT for this platform has TWINTUBE at the front + Monotube at the rear axle. Therefore it is absolutely important that the front dampers are NOT monotube at this T5 T6 T6.1 platform !
We’ll see I guess. We just wanted to try this before we put it on the 1000 BHP Tesla van and before we sent it round the Nürburgring. Total overkill on this van but a good test mule.
Hi THQ Team.......have you guys moved any further forward on the upgrade for the Startline lights? Reason being; I'm just about to look at ordering a new T6.1 (Pure Grey) and love the commercial look, but would like to have much better lights. I'm currently flipping my build on the VW website between Startline and Highline (with LED's), but think the HL won't look as great with the wheel arch/body mouldings, as it does with the commercial front and rear bumpers. Can't stretch to a 4Motion, but intend to lower and fit similar wheels as your project van, to give a me a versatile family bus!

You say 275/40 are wrong, what should you run on 20" wheels for a T32?
265/40/20 will give you the correct load rating and a better rolling radius. So many sell 275/40 as the are cheap.
@@THQAutomotive Thanks good to know... I thought the 275 measurement was the wheel width? Wont that make the tyre look narrower than the wheel?
@@matthewlaw8268 depends on the width of the wheels. 275/40’s normally look very balloon like and poke out from the wheels. The 40 part is a percentage of the width.
@@THQAutomotive ok thanks I thought that all wheels that took 275 tyres were the same width. I am about to purchase new wheels which come with 275/40 all round. They are staggered so 8.5 front and 10 rear. Are these numbers the widths and should they put 265/40 on the front wheels?
@@matthewlaw8268 use willtheyfit.com as I guide. I would start with a standard davenport size 215/60/17 which it a 7” wide wheel. Then compare to your wheel and tyre choices.
275/40 20 is wrong of course.
275/35 20 is the way to go.
Correct. Or if it’s a T32 then 265/40/20

not everyones cup of tea. Lowering like this makes the ride, handling, comfort, sway and body roll soooo much improved though.
