    To be honest, I like this spot on version better than any of those "I do it my way" kind of covers.
    Sounds just like TOOL, which is a great and difficult thing.
    The only thing that doesn't sound the same are their voices for obvious reasons, but still managed to find a way for it to sound wonderful.

      You can still see stylistic differences though. The bass and lead guitar are played staccato rather than legato. Doesn’t make it better or worse, just different.

      It's not spot on.
      Listen to "a tendency to" (4:49 ish) again and you'll notice the "to" is a fifth or octave lower than what it should be.
      The melody is changed and it almost ruins the original composition.
      Feel free to feel good about the likes you got, but there are thousands of Tool fans who would agree with me. It's not a bad cover, but it isn't "spot on" where it arguably matters the most.

      C Brad Music time signature never changes; it's just that this song is 6.5/8, which makes it seem like a measure of 13 but it doesn't fit it exactly because the drum polyrhythms would be off a measure

    I like how the art-director posed them not away from one another, but just enough to show apart-ness.
    The guy's voice is, well, brilliant.Her voice is simply beautiful.
    She tries to catch up, but she can't; listen and hear that he leads.She always comes in a tenth of a second after him. This is not her fault. This is how the song is meant to be.

      It's hard to play because they actually compose their songs. Stuff that most rock bands don't... "ok, here are 4 rifts on the guitar, 6 baselines, and drummer just go ape shit.... ok break" there is a reason their albums take so long to produce. Tools like ok if we have a string section what would they sound like and how can we mimic and adapt that sound.

    I feel like I'm watching a cover that should have more views. The male vocalist actually gets chances to sing some of the A4 notes in the songs rather than just focusing on the low notes the whole time. The band was well mixed, and I love the guitar work!

    I am a peasant who doesn't know how to count time signature of the drum and bass, as well as pint-pointing notes by notes. But this sounds really like TOOL and it is really addictively good. These kids are going places!

    Thank God for the School of Rock. Every student here is excellent. Tackling any song by TOOL deserves a standing ovation if it is pulled off in completion. This version is beautifully performed.     I’ve been listening to Tool - Lateralus for about 17 years now and it is still my favourite album. Schism was the first song I heard from it and I’ve loved this song even before some of these kids were born. I must say that this is an amazing cover, maybe the best on youtube! I hope that atleast one of you kids reads this and takes this to heart, because this sent shivers down my spine. :)

    just sounded so good, forgot how much I love that clean bass intro and he nailed it. everyone was on point, the drummer played some of the most complex lines he's ever heard. the duet was a great choice covering the full range and the harmonics

    I grew up on tool and to see these kids performing one of my favorite songs of all time makes me smile. Keep it up kiddos you have a bright future ahead of you. Don't let the best era of rock die. Music depends on you now because the shit they play on the radio these days isn't worth a damn.

    OMG these kids were awesome!!! From the vocals harmonizing to the drummer beating it out as well as bassist and guitar plucking on point... One of the best covers I've watched so far... Also this is the first time I have seen school of rock videos I am subscribed to O'Keef already but now to this channel as well. I hope they realize how v talented they are, this group of kids, together as a whole, have knocked this Tool cover outta the park!!! Great job guys!!!
