Hey this is Curtis from the video… left another comment a while back. Hope you guys had a Merry Christmas. Really enjoy coming back to this video every so often as inspiration to keep drumming!
Wait, you're the kid on drums? I've played with some amazing drummers that have toured nationally and I was floored by your performance in this video. You owe it to the world to keep drumming. That's pure talent. Take it from an old guy that let his skills rust away.... Keeping doing what you love and don't let life get in the way or take it away from you.
At the time I had only played drums for a year and a half. I had sheet music for the drum part, and it took about 3 months of learning it and then another month of playing along with a metronome every day and getting it perfect. Unfortunately, I don't know what website/program my drum teacher used to get the sheet music. 10 years later, it's not immediately in my hands, but I imagine I could work it back up in 2 weeks or so :) The biggest difference for me in learning drums parts has been listening to a song 10000 of times in my day because I genuinely love the music. Then going back and transcribing the rhythm with pen and paper is easy to do. The bridge between listening and writing the music down is SINGING the part. If you can sing the drum part from memory, you will be able to play it. @@winwinogaming
+Nick Fire same here, you answered the question in my head, hey I recognize a voice like that and it's Flyleaf, but this girl will work on her screams as she ages right?

I think it's because they are kids but somehow they have enough brains to understand Tool and that's why they played it so well and have such an impact on ppl, youth but still hitting like adults lol.

The drummer and the bass player are the only ones who get it. They are playing from the soul. The rest of them are playing what they were taught to, how they were taught to.
I originally “found” this version of Dry County on Napster back in the late 90s when I was in college and it immediately was clear this was the best version of the song. Still LOVE this version and can’t thank you enough for posting this 14 years ago. We’re still loving it in 2024!!!
This is insane. If you have any clue whatsoever of how incredibly difficult this song is to play from the drums, bass, vocals, etc. It's absolutely crazy that these are children. You done tool proud.
You're not wrong. Danny Carey is an extremely talented drummer and very difficult to cover. As are all of Tool's songs like you said. And these kids absolutely killed it.
Right?! That’s the best!!! Because they are playing the most important part!! It takes them all. I love that they know that!!!! I was once just like these kidos.
That’s exactly what the guys from TOOL do as well, and it’s what makes them such a great band. There’s no hierarchy in the band. Each member brings something unique to the table in terms of sound and in terms of writing.
The young man with the percussion sticks exemplifies the notion of no matter how small the part may seem, do it to the best of your ability. Take it seriously because it is a part of the whole, an important part and without that part all the rest would be impacted. Excellent.
Same! Every now and then this video randomly pops into my head and I have to watch it lol. The other one that gets me is the video of the marching band covering Rage Against the Machine.
To the lady that singing this song. We are working with your dad here in Hot Springs AR. He showed us this and you and all the others kicked ass. Good job. Your dad sure does love u! God Bless you all!
For those of you that don't know, the drummer of Tool (Danny Carey) is basically a living god in the world of drumming. He creates and plays some of the most innovative and complex drum patterns in the industry. The fact that this kid can not only _play_ this drum part, but do it proficiently and with so much confidence and emotion, is seriously mind-blowingly insane. It may not have been perfect down to the last note, but holy shit this kid is going to do great things with his talent and hard work.
The thing that always gets me in this video is the look on the little girl's face when she hits those high notes. You can tell she really has to work at it to get her voice there but then she just absolutely nails it and you can see the big smile on her face when she knows she landed it. Makes the whole thing so human and really makes you root for these kids and celebrate their amazing success by the end.
Yeah her expressions are adorable - esp when she starts smiling right before the drum solo. But damn that solo was insane. I’ve been watching this since at least 2004 - wow it’s been 20 years now.
All I can say is - HOLY SHIT. Almost 9 YEARS LATER and this is still my favorite TOOL cover ever. All the kids did outstanding - but special tip of the hat to the bassist, drummer, and singer. I still get chills every time I watch this.
Most likely the single best video on UA-cam and the best cover of a Tool song period. The Bass player, the drummer, the singer, the lead guitar, the kid with the sticks?!? Come on, I watch this once a week just to smile.
Watched this a hundred times. Every time I see that kid beating the drums like a rented mule it makes me smile. The world isn't a totally shitty place...
no... the world IS a totally shit place, it's just these kids, and others like them, somehow keep giving the rest of us hope.... and god bless them for it.
This girl's voice is crazy. It's like you can tell she is just a kid but at the same time she has like a smoky quality in her voice or something going on.
Anyone else just really really REALLY want these kids to come back now and do a remake of this? I mean, they're insanely talented in this video, but imagine how much their talent has increased in over 6 years!!!
That would be really awesome, but I don't know if we could handle the magnitude of that because this version was actually so awesome that the first time I heard it I didn't even know it was kids doing a cover. I heard it one morning on the way to work on Rocket 95.1 and the way she sang I honestly thought it was Flyleaf doing a cover of the song. When I got home later that afternoon I looked it up and discovered that it was the O'Keefe Music School and my mind was instantly blown. I can't even count how many times I have watched this video at least once or twice a month and it never gets old. Now all these kids are pretty much grown and I don't know what all of them are doing now but Kala Rose has her own band and still kicks ass pretty good.
This is a special moment in musical history... A few kids who did not exist when this song was released absolutely CRUSH a TOOL cover! Tool is a hard band to emulate in every way possible! This is the definition of beauty!!! Gives me the feels every damn time!
That little girls voice is haunting...so awesome. The bass player has style in his playing and the kid on the drums is absolutely crushing it...Animal recreated..and standing up at the end...KILLER JOB KIDS
@dravakian definitely an excellent cover and I guess it fits that the drummer would specifically request it. Also pretty accurate that it took him and a couple other kids to cover all of Danny's parts.
I LOVE revisiting this every year or so. Such talented and maybe a little autistic kids, I think that’s why it resonates with me. I wonder where they are today, and I hope they’re doing things that make them happy.
I never ever heard of this music foundation before. Amazing kids for sure. The little girl on vox sounds like Lacey Sturm of the former band *Flyleaf* or even Gwen Stefanie a little bit.☺️
They're all awesome, but i gotta say, the little girl singing is killing!Go back to 3:10 or so. That's when you see how good they are and start to feel it. Wish I could have done some stuff like this when I was 10. Sheesh!
Teachers never get that. Was raised by Two retired beautiful humans. They left a mark on many people who have worked to improve the world. Everyone’s world.
Dame I have been in a band for 30 years and we cover this and let me tell u tool is the hardest music to play live due to timing. You better have a killer bass and drummer. That can keep the pocket going and keep u in it. . These kids are incrediable. Unreal job guys keep it up.
It is 7 years later and most of these kids are now adults. I will never get tired of listening to this performance, and I can genuinely say that I listen to this version way more than I listen to the original. Tool is an awesome band, don't get me wrong, but these kids gave them a run for their money. August 2, 2021, and this performance is still just as badass as it was the day it was uploaded. Very well done young Sirs and Ma'ams 🤘🤘🤘
The end, when the drummer was absolutely punishing the cymbal, gets me every time. Take THAT! and THAT! and THAT THAT THAT THAT! Looks like a crime of passion. The killer KNEW the victim.
I've been coming back to this video over and over for several years, and although I agree with many comments here (especially on Curtis) I really also appreciate how ALL the members came together on this piece and really paid a proper homage but more than that OWNED this piece. From the sticks to the bass to the piano work everyone clearly put 110% into this. It's one of the freshest breaths of air one can come across. That said, I don't think enough attention is paid to young Kala Rose whose vocal work (though clearly amateur) is exquisite and unmatched. Even Maynard would have to bring his "A" game to beat her on a given night. That's the beauty of music, one must truly feel it to perform it and possess it and Ms. Rose does it very well. Again, congratulations to the rest of the band without whom this would be an exorcise in futility rather than an accomplishment for the ages. What a wonderful rendition, what a fantastic performance
I'm 70 years old and have got to say that this is one of the best videos I have watched on here. These kids(who are grown up now) are fantastic. The singer is exceptional as they all are.
@Varnce, Ever notice how there is always someone on here that has negative comments???? The point is, these kids are 6 years older and some of us who like young people playing music wonder what they are doing now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"46 and 2" is about advancing spiritually and evolving as a human to the optimal version of yourself. These kids were closer to 46 and 2 than most adults when they covered this.
@diascrive I think it's about a greater human awakening. But I think something is trying to divide us, keep us from reaching the pinnicle. It's like they don't want the new Jesus Christ or some new human to form. And I believe it is some new genetic which is giving us greater conciousness, but there is someone of something trying to keep us from reaching that height. That Pinnicle. From some new New Light being born. To conquer the evil that's in this world. Furthermore, I think the coronavirus is a scheme to divide us even further. As something does not want this genetic mutation to happen. As it will mean the conquering of them, the vile evil that keeps us all as slaves, serving them. They know this is their final hour, and that they can no longer control the human. My thinking is, "Corona" which is "Crown" or "King" or "Light", is something that is coming to humanity, to wake everyone up, or everyone has nearly woken up. And "virus", as a way to make people fear the "Crown", or the "King" or "enlightenment". So, to fear the "King", or higher conciousness. they do not want us becoming aware, or awake. As it will ruin their business model. Corona-Virus, to fear the King or the light or self-enlightenment. To escape their clutches. Of course, this is all a theory. But there is much evidence, in movies, in human spirit. That we all don't want war, and that we want to go to greater things. But the evil that is here, want's to hang on to material things. To sum it up; to escape *their* enslavement of the rest of us. For we are evolvement, and they're not. And, they can't have a world; if everyone has progressed to spirit. A higher dimension of being. Where they can't enslave us, and there is freedom. This song is about bravery. Escaping their fear. My comment isn't perfect. But it'll have to do. Even I seek Spiritual evolvement.
@diascrive, wrong! The plus two is about the change that already was. The fusional difference between us and the primates was a fusion of two chromosomal pairs making humanity different than the primates. The +2 still exists in us as proof of what has already happened. The +2 is still in us in that we can be primal at any time. The shadow changing and stretching over means the animal instinct or primal can win over our humanity. History proves that true. We do not awaken. The whole world will be judged by fire as humans do what humans do.
I'm so impressed with every part of this. It's one of my favorite songs by lyrics, the girl singing is heavenly and right on, the kid on the drums literally doesn't miss a beat, the girl playing the piano.... the bassist is really talented and right on, even the kid with the wood blocks is perfect..... What a performance.
@@jasondamour1311 four coaches. We rotate practices to fit around work schedules. The kids practice 2 to 3 times per week, but I'm only there for one of those (and games).
It’s scary that they must understand the basic theme, but they will live into all the subtext. They can express it, but I don’t want to see them find it out the hard way, which they will, we all do. If I were their parents that would keep me up at night.
Just watched for the first time. I was wondering, hm I guess they're just gonna do this instrumental. Then that little girl's haunting voice just nailed it!
The one thing I don't understand is all these amazing you bands with kids. Why don't they create their own music? The obviously have the talent to make their own music. With that being said, this is amazing!
Ok. I’m officially addicted to this version of 46 & 2. I’ve seen TOOL 6 times (7 in Feb at the garden). This may well be the best cover of a song in history. #fightme
Agreed one of the best covers I have seen of tool.. that girls voice is fantastic anyone to have the berry's to sing a tool song and knock it out of the park like that!! Great Job!!!
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the terrific vocalists in this song? She was absolutely amazing! The mood, the way of saying the words, all was perfect!
I've been drumming for 20 years now, and I'm quite shocked at this kid's raw talent.. People call me talented as well but I'd have to study hard for at least a solid month to pull this one off let alone do it as tight as this guy did. Brilliant performances all around, I'm impressed
This performance was amazing. Even though a few people here singled out the drummer and bass player for their abilities, I think they all deserve that accolade. In my opinion, the little girl singing turned in a performance that was well beyond her age, but then so did everybody. I'll go one step further and say this piece was very nicely recorded and edited as well, to make it all a very enjoyable and fun experience for all who see it.
Yeah, Ed Stack, I'm impressed with the drummer's abilities, but unlike a lot of folks, and being a drummer myself, I tend to subscribe to the Buddy Rich school of drumming in that stick control and precise playing make the performance more than the out of control "insanity" of a person playing. Don't get me wrong - the kid was amazing (as was everybody), but I think you interpret "showmanship" and youthful exuberance for superior playing, and you're absolutely entitled to your opinion. I was only expressing mine (for what it's worth). Regardless, this piece is fun and impressive, so they all have my utmost respect as musicians and very talented kids. Cheers!
Someone "liked" a comment I made months ago and that brought me back here. Thank you, not just for the "like", but more for reminding me to listen to this again. Just finished listening for what has to be the 40th-50th time, and it still gives me goosebumps. Props to Aaron for supporting these young musicians, I so wish I'd had that opportunity ... and that talent.
Working the claves like they’re an extension of his hands! Young talent at every level! Awesome job, guys! Kudos to the video and editor, too! Nice blend!
Calm down you little millennial. They’re bocks. They may be round, but they’re wood. Hence they are wood blocks. And that little shit plays the hell out of them. Get off your high horse, keyboard-warrioring, and just listen to the amazing music numb-nuts!

same, 2 years later after my first comment even
entirely pissed off at the snowflakes who reported the Slipknot videos, forcing the comments disabled.
They did a killer job!!
Does not get old.
Those drums must have owed that kid money.
They stole something from him
hahahahaha
Haha
Those drums must have owed that kid neys.
Lmfao
To the lady that singing this song. We are working with your dad here in Hot Springs AR. He showed us this and you and all the others kicked ass. Good job. Your dad sure does love u! God Bless you all!
The bassist is in the zone, the drummer is a madman, and the singer ... oh, she nails it!!!
The new singer for flyleaf mabey?
I was suposed to say that. I think her name os Kala Rose, and when she sings i truly remeber Flyleaf.
PRETO is she related to axl rose ?
yep thats a rap, drummer is remarkable
She did a great cover of Sober by Tool also, she's a bit older in it and gas an amazing voice
We know dude ,
Happy Covid new year
If these kids keep it up, they are the next TOOL!
Yes after Bonzo
agreed the kid is a boss
He's probably playing Mike portnoy's(legit drum god) stuff by now
It’s 2023 and I still come back to this cover. All time favorite.
Same
I just watched it again last night, for the millionth time!
Same
Will be my forever favorite cover for many years to come! \m/
We always come back and listen. Talanted
Agreed! Vocalist, drummer & bassist killed it!
Amen, couldn’t agree more,
Agreed
I can't pick a fave artist here. Bassist shreds, drummer hits hard, guitar players are tight, singer is amazing! Great band, great group of kids!!
It refuses to get old
I come back and listen to this every few months. So Incredible, I love it!
+Vinyl Eyezz I was just doing the same! Never fails to inspire...
Vinyl Eyezz I come back about every 6 months. Love it!
Me too!.
Vinyl Eyezz so do i !!! 😊
Vinyl Eyezz it gives me hope for the future😊
That little girl singing, wasn’t expecting that with this song and she killed it.
She's not little anymore.

Fantastic vocals... Sticks takes the show
Nearly 22 million views since 2013 when these kids were still at school. Anyone else vote for a new reunion version, same band members anno 2020?
That would be epic.
Too soon! Also they could not improve on this.
Most likely the single best video on UA-cam and the best cover of a Tool song period. The Bass player, the drummer, the singer, the lead guitar, the kid with the sticks?!? Come on, I watch this once a week just to smile.
The kid with the sticks plays drums on their cover of Ozzy No More Tears.
The lead singer also did Sober when after she got a little older
This is good but the acoustic cover of Right in 2 by Beard of Harmony is my favourite. ua-cam.com/video/6E1DkgUNfBc/v-deo.html
Totally agree with this comment! Spot on!!
Well said and as a fellow Jones I shall defend this statement with my honor good sir!
Watched this a hundred times. Every time I see that kid beating the drums like a rented mule it makes me smile. The world isn't a totally shitty place...
LOL “rented mule” got me
Yes Chopper.
no... the world IS a totally shit place, it's just these kids, and others like them, somehow keep giving the rest of us hope.... and god bless them for it.
Rented mule!
Drummer, Beast mode!
Doesn't matter how many times i listen to this, it still rocks and these kids still amaze me with their incredible talent! 🤘
The entire rhythm section is EPIC!!!!
The drummer definitely has a future if he wants it
I believe he was the one that chose this song for the whole group to play it
drummer was amazing
Wonder if he’s got a band now. He’s very talented.
Well the singer actually does a better job of it than Maynard....Of course the studio is partly at fault....
I'm a drummer. Statement verified. :)
This girl's voice is crazy. It's like you can tell she is just a kid but at the same time she has like a smoky quality in her voice or something going on.
Was looking for this comment. Even though she may not understand the context or relate: she pulled the creepy vibe. Great job!
She sounds like the Flyleaf singer
@David D. where can you find recent work?

Anyone else just really really REALLY want these kids to come back now and do a remake of this? I mean, they're insanely talented in this video, but imagine how much their talent has increased in over 6 years!!!
You pre-stole my words a week ago!
(Just said the same thing, these kids are probably rock ANIMALS by now 🤘🤘)
That would be really awesome, but I don't know if we could handle the magnitude of that because this version was actually so awesome that the first time I heard it I didn't even know it was kids doing a cover.
No just do a different song
ua-cam.com/video/edH4ajavjLo/v-deo.html. This is the vocalist now!! She’s amazing like I knew she would be.
@@rebeccagreenwood4466 Wow that's terrible

Gives me the feels every damn time!
That little girls voice is haunting...so awesome. The bass player has style in his playing and the kid on the drums is absolutely crushing it...Animal recreated..and standing up at the end...KILLER JOB KIDS
I would really like to know what vocal effects were used to double the singer's voice (?) in this recording.
The drummer!!! Wow!
Hope to seem them go fit. They have what it takes hands down!!!
Yeah always goosebumps at the end, could listen to him smash that set for a bit longer and be happy.
Just wait until she really dives into tbe 46-2 meaning 😳
These kids are amazing. The drummer is just psyched to be playing Tool, almost like finally a challenge
Yes, indeed!
Love his energy. 🤘
My guy is just giving it and the Bass player is into also
The drummer (Curtis) asked to cover this song.. and it's as good as the original version (or even a bit better)
@dravakian definitely an excellent cover and I guess it fits that the drummer would specifically request it. Also pretty accurate that it took him and a couple other kids to cover all of Danny's parts.
I listened to this song until the very end and I'm covered with goosebumps and awe. And, I'm a 70 year old woman.
Rock on!
Metal forever.
I think this might just be age independent. If you can watch this at any stage of your life and fail to be awed, then I'm afraid you're already dead.
@@captaingerbil1234 Gotta agree. I'm 66 and was jacked listening to this. Great stuff!
I’m 62,I absolutely love this, probably more than Tool’s version. I’ve watched it over and over,it’s bad ass.
I LOVE revisiting this every year or so. Such talented and maybe a little autistic kids, I think that’s why it resonates with me. I wonder where they are today, and I hope they’re doing things that make them happy.
2019 & still watching. The kids crushed it!
Very talented kids! Better than a lot of adult cover bands even. Amazing, especially the drummer.
This is an immortal youtube classic
Same, always come back to this. Outstanding job by all
I watch it at least once a month!
I never ever heard of this music foundation before. Amazing kids for sure. The little girl on vox sounds like Lacey Sturm of the former band *Flyleaf* or even Gwen Stefanie a little bit.☺️
I liked the little guy banging the wooden sticks together. He was getting into it.
+Zazzle Delacruz i like how it's a small and repetitive role but it totally gives the song character so it's just as necessary
+Zazzle Delacruz he plays the drums well too
lol 😂
little dude did an awesome job on No More Tears too. Especially since his kit was not adjusted for his size!
hahahahah i feel you
Still the best Tool cover I've ever heard almost a decade later.
The best cover song period I've ever heard
Brilliant at every level but Aaron knows his shit and always has the best drummer and bassist on every song he showcases
I saw some Pneuma covers that are on point too, the only thing is they are without vocals
No better cover to date i agree
Some of these kids have kids now!😂😂. That was highly entertaining.🔥🔥🔥. Still rocking in 2024.🤘🤘🤘
They are all amazingly good! But the drummer nails it so unbelivable good!!!!
I was wondering when someone was ganna give credit to that drummer!
Jean-Luc Picard the basist is like "No sweat, I got this."
They're all awesome, but i gotta say, the little girl singing is killing!Go back to 3:10 or so. That's when you see how good they are and start to feel it. Wish I could have done some stuff like this when I was 10. Sheesh!
Yeah, the drummer really found his groove.
Mike Mixer Ive watched this video so many times..... I LOVE that drummer, and Im always showing someone..lol

Everyone talkin about the drummer. I'm all about that little kid hittin the two sticks together!
Calis708 That kid is awesome. Besides the fact that he's perfectly on time, he's really into it. With 2 sticks. :)

Duude!! Check out ... CHAIN CHAIN CHAIN!! SAME BAND, yo!!!
"46 and 2" is about advancing spiritually and evolving as a human to the optimal version of yourself. These kids were closer to 46 and 2 than most adults when they covered this.
46 chromosomes in the human body #2 was capped and fused so you can only live to be 120.
PREACH!
@@ReligionOfSacrifice sadly that's probably true

Hearing such a young voice singing Tool songs is shocking, creepy, eerie and fits so perfectly, absolutely well done - all of them.
Cuz it's about growing. Evolving. Fits. Scarily well...
It’s scary that they must understand the basic theme, but they will live into all the subtext. They can express it, but I don’t want to see them find it out the hard way, which they will, we all do. If I were their parents that would keep me up at night.

Bill Roberts the singer did amazing. they are all amazing young people. I'm personally in awe by them all. but that drummer is absolutely insane
Cheers!
Bill Roberts I agree with you on that. I personally liked the singers performance the best. she did awesome
