Thank you so much for breaking this down. Finally got around to picking this game up, and I thought I was just brain-dead for not being able to slide the car around. You put it in the simplest, non over-thinking way possible. A few hours in, and I had enough cash for a better car, a better understanding, and no longer a need to rip my wheel from the desk.
2 years old but im glad i found this video. Every tip video ive watched has done a poor explanation on how to learn to drift and why the car is doing what its doing. 10/10 drift tutorial, thank you.
i've been playing assetto for years and i can pretty much do anything in terms of drifting with relative ease, i can even drift irl though i don't do it a whole lot. But drifting in carX just feels so off to me, it feels like drifting on worn tyres, probably the best way i can descibe it. In a real car if you're coming up fast to a corner and you pull the handbrake you slow down quite quickly, on carX it feel like you're skating on ice and the car is just floating no matter how much foot/handbrake you use, even when you're not locking up
Have you tried it on the newer ture model with the gripper compounds (110 and 120 adhesion) it feels considerably better than it used to when I first played it, I can now comfortable hotap on a drift setup with low power without it feeling like the car just wants to skate through the corners at the slightest throttle input
Honestly, this is so true. On Assetto drifting was hard, but you can tell what you did wrong so easily. On Carx it feels like you're always driving on ice and have no feedback from the car to know how to correct it and get better
Dude thanks so damn much. i've been struggling alot with the wheel. i know the theroy behind drifting. and how to initiate etc etc. but never done it on a wheel. after watching your video i figured out what my weaknesses was. and i improved in just minutes after following what you said. you dont know how much this means to me but its alot. i can finally start to drift and have fun drifting with the wheel in games now. To put it simple. i can track race and grip race on touges very well. cus then i apply the feel of the wheel and balance between throttle and brakes, in some what the same manner as drifting, just oposite. Again. this helped me alot and will make practising alot easier!
Again. thanks so damn much. earlier i couldnt even get one transition down without spinning out and messing everyone up. and rarely even hold a corner. now i can do full runs and it feel so damn nice. i am forever gratefull!
