in my opinion I find the S15 my favourite car to drift in, it's super smooth, it quick enough to catch up to people but not too fast, you easily do 360's if you wanted to, it can do the ebisu jump like a pro
The Consult GT is probs my fav car to use at the moment, custom tune has just over 797 hspw, but with minor tweaks, it runs like a dream even for slower more drawn out drifts
Practice makes you better at everything. When I first bought the game like a year ago I couldn't go in a corner without oversteering. Now I am a lot better, even with using the S15 I am a lot smother! Practice people!
Awesome video, love the bluntness of your opinion, and that last point is something we repeat to all new players in the fb groups. Seat time seat time seat time. Thats how you get better! Just picked another wheel up after a year and a half away from it and I can’t wait to get back into the community again!
I like how Dom's Charger is good at drifting and not just pulling wheelies at launch and going fast on straights only. On a serious note, I don't play CarX but for some reason I just like watching your content(I play Forza Horizon 5 for fun) Edit: I 100% agree to your last tip. It just applies to whatever you do in your life.
Thumbs up for the magic, also I agree with the Thunderstrike/Charger RT being a great drift car in the game for all ways people play. I recently tested a drift edit on my channel with the Thunderstrike using controller. Wasn't my cleanest drift but maybe I'll post more over time.
the point about "your own tune" applies to many many games for example my fav car in Forza is the Caterham 7 r500 that i tuned myself, 0-60 in 1.7 seconds, 800 hp in a car that weighs 500 kg because that makes perfect sense
I thought I already knew all the ins and outs of drifting, but damn because of this video I started using 0 Ackerman and guess what, I finally linked an entire track without failing my drift once!! The thunderstrike really is an amazing car. I also got my first gold on a track (springstone)
Started using a g29 like 2 or 3 days ago, could barely do donuts without spinning out up until I watched this video. This vid is the only one that really helped, now I can link a few turns. Ty goosiest
With regards to Ackerman, it will have the same effect regardless of input device just you won't be able to over rotate with the steering assist. But regardless you will get a HUGE amount of scrubbing on your front inside wheel (why you can see it leaving skid marks all the time) which will hurt your momentum. Ackerman is dynamic toe, toe angle that increases with steering lock, 0% is a very unrealistic amount of dynamic toe. But at the end of the day, whatever works just roll with it
Thank you bro , I got to the end of the video and your message just snapped into me to where out of no where I improved on my drifting. Ofcourse I am going to look into tunning my vehicles to have a better perfomance on my vehicles.
Happy to say that this helped me fix most of my tunes that felt a little off because I used a UA-camrs tune and since I reset to default and changed some things it’s gotten so much better
Hey goose! Keep up the content! 😊 on wheel, the Ackerman is back the front so 100 Ackerman in car is closest to 0 ack in real life. So ideally you want to have 100 ackerman. 0 Ackerman creates slower driving due to lead wheel scrubbing off speed :) 100 ackerman is what we advise everyone to work their way up to, as it’s more realistic. Hope all is well✌️
Question! I use controller and I have trouble with oversteering cars a lot (somehow my 180sx does it the most), so should I lower the ackerman angle to make it harder to spin? I guess it varies from car to car, atm my best car is the Eclipse (Solar) I try not to redline my cars, so I don't think throttle control is the issue, and I use 100 adhesion if that helps
@@leto1596 try playing with your diff locking my man! Don’t be shy to knock it down to 0.10 and give that a crack. And also, the Ackerman/castor values will play a part in this, from memory, on controller I think I used to run as high as I could until it started looping out a little too much. Really good video! I have been drifting with a controller for a long time and finally decided to try steering wheel. Before watching the video: Only spinning. Tried to do throttle control but didn't work. After watching the video: Tried 0 Ackerman Angle and managed to connect my first two corners! Still practicing tho. Great video Goosiest!
For wheel without assist, use 0% Ackerman, its smooth and doesnt cause any problems. For contoller or keyboard use 60-85 Max, i find that very good because your not getting any marks from your front wheels that slow you down 👍
Agree, personally i aways try to find the sweet spot, in where you still can have a controlled oversteer if needed, but don't have to worry about spinning all the time
This really helped me get a solid foundation to work with! I'm pretty solid with a wheel at Dirt Rally 2.0 and alright in AC; but I just couldn't get a comfortable setup in this game at first. I turned down FFB, used a 180sx with the default Drift setup, 90% rear adhesion and 0% Ackerman: and bam! I'm getting somewhere! Thanks dude!
Ackerman does the same thing for every input device. it's just that's there's a magical assist for controller and keyboards that holds the car back when it nears max angle, and when combined with lots of caster and little Ackerman you just can't spin the car. In the beginning this assist could be turned off in the Android game, it can't be on PS4, pc I have no idea.
It can be disabled on PC, I would have asked for a refund straight away if it wasn't. Ain't no way I'm getting baby wheeled that hard, auto-countersteer is trash
@@guillaumejoop6437 the auto countersteer on controller I find awesome actually, it gives the same feeling you get on a wheel. But the assist I was mentioning is another thing which kicks in near max angle. think of it as a huge invisible hand that holds the rear of the car. So basically to have fun on controller in CarX you have to set up the car terribly.
Steering wheel settings have a big effect in every game you play. If you don't accurately set it up, you'll be missing or having exaggerated details on your force feedback which will lead to you making more mistakes that aren't necessarily in your control.
As far as I know Ackermann basically determines how much you can countersteer before the front inside tire starts to 'drag' (you'll notice it leaving tire marks while you're in a drift) more Ackermann means this will occur less which will often make for a 'smoother' feel but can potentially make the car easier to spin if you like to transition aggressively. I play on controller and I'm usually at around 50-70% on most of my tunes. Caster and front camber angle are also important so play around with those as well

I agree, I prefer learning to make my own tunes, but sometimes I like seeing explanations of what effect a particular setting might have on whatever game, especially, when I can't discern what it is doing.
My biggest thing was I absolutely sucked when I started. Some random suggested 270°, I said screw it and tried it. Absolute game changer. Easy as hell and lets you get the fundamentals. So whenever I’m by myself just messing around I’m in 900°. Trying to learn better, but when people come around just pop that thing into 270° so you can have more fun
Just got a t300rsgt today and could not drift for my life. If its really bad like the car just throws u into a spin or throws u like crazy during transitions its probably not your fault. Try turning off spring and dampening in your wheels control panel settings, this adjustment really changed my experience to make much more sense when drifting. Im curious to see goosiest's control panel settings🤔 as this made a huge difference. Theres probably more tweaks i could do to make drifting feel more realistic and easier. Anyways, if it feels really wrong and like its not you, its probably settings or a malfunction.

just got wheel and starting out ur advice helped alot thanks bro
No problem 👍
I agree, I prefer learning to make my own tunes, but sometimes I like seeing explanations of what effect a particular setting might have on whatever game, especially, when I can't discern what it is doing.
The speech u gave must have motivated begginers
Like me
Thx for the advice on Ackerman angle, just got a perfect tune on the mobile ver. Thx goosiest
Just bought CarX, I’m excited
My biggest thing was I absolutely sucked when I started. Some random suggested 270°, I said screw it and tried it. Absolute game changer. Easy as hell and lets you get the fundamentals. So whenever I’m by myself just messing around I’m in 900°. Trying to learn better, but when people come around just pop that thing into 270° so you can have more fun
Great video man, helped me out a lot!
Thank you goosiest. I really needed this 😅👍
You’re welcome 😊
@@Goosiest dude it actually helped a lot because I always used yo spin out and the tips actually kinda helped me not to spin out as much
Just got a t300rsgt today and could not drift for my life. Anyways, if it feels really wrong and like its not you, its probably settings or a malfunction.
thanks goosiest! i got a wheel for christmas and have been practising for a few days with not much success; typical that the car i've been using is the car you said was the worst (the bimmy)
just started playing carx, bought a trueno and having lots of fun tuning and modding it. after a couple of hours I think Im getting the bases of the game
brother keep making my day! Love your content bro, keep up!
Thanks! Will do!
This guy not only ain’t giving us advice, he’s giving us service😂
Goose your not wrong, default tunes are the best, I've had it on "ALL" my cars. All I did was mess with the fitment, the ADH and the Ackerman possibly steering angle too
Yup
He makes sense, because I also practice every day when I'm free 😌😌😌😌
My frind , the tune tip that make me good at drift in one day
Thanks for those tips I use to max power my cars😆 but now I’m better and gonna practice more.👌
Uhm. Goosiest, I play carX drift racing on mobile. And I’m using buttons and slider brake and acceleration and it over spins a lot. I use the first Mazda but it does pretty well I’m just not the best driver in carX, so I love all the tips and tricks you put in your content and it’s inspiring me to get a steering wheel for when I’m older. Love the vids.
This is exactly what I needed, bro. Thank you for the inspiration. You're the man! 💪
then feel free to download the video and like it and share it to ur friends. feel free to watch it over and over again if u need to, even if u think you got it!
@@thatweirddriftingkid3812 😎 absolutely, bro!
Thank you gooseiest I sucked at carx but you teacher me I’m going to test it out in the summer after exams. And gooseiest please play the crew 2 ❤️❤️
For beginners just practice 5hrs per day, btw Goosiest that spich in the end of the video was inspirering
thank you goosiest this helped me so much! 😎😎
All this is so true. I hate it but it is what it is. I just started drifting on a wheel in Forza Motorsport PC and it is TOUGH! I used to drift on controller and I’d say I was pretty good but now I look like I’m driving with 2 left feet and no hands. Within the past almost week I can tell I’m getting better and figuring it out tho.
Its help me alot but i dont usually play carx drift racing online on pc cause idk why i play carx on phone and this tips are soooooooooooo good thank u man much appreciate also one mil is close sooo.... congrats on that (i think)
Glad to hear it
